    Hey everybody,

I am by no means an expert with this mod. However, I've been using it almost since the beginning. I am willing to help out (and hopefully others will as well), if you have any questions or need any help in using it.

Start off by downloading everything at MTS.

Can we post links? If not then just search for the title.

Deaderpool has changed the way his mod works and now you just unzip everything and stick it in your mods folder.

Launch your game so that the all important MCSettings.cfg file is generated. Exit after you've gone into a save, you don't need to load a Sim. Just going to the world screen will suffice.

Copy/paste that original file somewhere safe so you can revert to it if you mess up or want to change something. The beauty of this mod is that you can just delete this file and it will make a new one.

Now, you will open that mcsettings.cfg file and start editing. At the mod page, if you click under each tab there are explanations for everything. It's not worded very simply but I can try and help you all understand what it means.

This is what mine looks like (updated 11/9/15), Deaderpool recommends that the in-game computer is used to do these settings. I prefer rewriting the file, myself. There is a woohoo add-on that changes the rating of the game so we will not discuss that here.

Once you are done editing yours (compare mine to the original so you can see what I've changed) then you will do a saveas otherwise it will save as .txt file and be rendered useless. Do the saveas and just select the old one to overwrite it.

If you enabled logging, you will notice a file called mc_cmd_center. This file logs everything that happens in your game. It's a pretty useful and cool file because you can see your town growing.

I'll wait for questions to explain my settings.

Thanks so much for this. I would have messed up right off the bat, I thought I'd have to edit all that in the cheat commands in the game.

You can edit using the in-game cheat command. However, I am firm follower of "work smarter and not harder" so I prefer to find the shortest and easiest route to do something.

    And a little tip:

Keep a copy of your edited MCSettings.cfg file somewhere outside your EA folder. The reason for this that when Deaderpool updates any component of his mod (and he will because he's great with keeping it updated and tweaking to improve things), there may be some new lines added to it. I will delete all his stuff out of my mods folder (including the MCSettings.cfg file). Then copy/paste all the new files and launch the game to generate a new MCSettings.cfg. Then just open up the old one that I kept a copy of somewhere else. Make the changes to the new one (because I can't remember all my settings and it's easier this way) and look to see what has been added.

If I notice anything new then I just pop over to MTS and read the description of that line and what it does. Then I decide what parameters I want to give it.

It all sounds terribly complicated and intimidating but it really isn't once you figure out how to use it.

What I really like about his latest version is that I can control game culling and I can randomize visiting Sims, those were nice additions.

Thanks for this @Tatiana. I installed the mod, it seems to be working. It has a log and things at least, hopefully it will work the way it's supposed to. This might be obvious and I'm just missing it, but does this mod make it so Sims will advance in their careers as well?

That would be handled by the careers module but I don't think it does right now. You can only select if the game will give your played Sims new careers or change their careers. A good thing for rotational players who don't like going back to an old played household to discover that the game turned their level 10 doctor into a level 3 athlete.

Double checked on the write up at MTS....

    McCmdCenter_career

Currently, the career module only contains a single setting and is really only intended to work-around the way that the Sims 4 core-script will assign career jobs to households marked "Played Households" if they are not the active household.

    Settings in mc_settings.cfg

Career_FillCareerInactiveOnly When assigning careers to Sims, if this is true then any household marked "Played" will be bypassed by the Sims 4 career-assignment process. false

Career_AdultEmploymentRange Minimum and Maximum percent ranges of YA/A employment in your world. Values are separated by a comma. 70,80

Career_ElderEmploymentRange Minimum and Maximum percent ranges of Elder employment in your world. Values are separated by a comma. 40,50

Career_TeenEmploymentRange Minimum and Maximum precent ranges of Teen employment in your world. Values are separated by a comma. 40,50

There have been many new things added to MC Command Center. So, if you have the mod. Then be sure to get the updates.

Here is something that I found today (it's been there for a while but somehow I missed it).

If you want to keep track of your population or are curious about how many "hidden" Sims your game has created, then type in the below command.

CTRL+Shift+C to open the command window

    Then you type in

get_pop h (to get the hidden total)
get_pop p (to get the pregnancy total)
get_pop a (to get the alien total)
get-pop b (to get the basic population total)

You can also just type in mc_help into the command window.

*Hidden Sims are those that are created by the game to fill active career roles. They do not show up in the unplayed bin in world management. They are a negative hit on your total allowed population. I hate them, personally since we can't get rid and they affect the population total.

So here is my updated mc_settings.cfg file for anybody who wants to see how I did it Please ask if you need me to clarify anything. Also, I have his "other" mod installed and those settings as well. Can't post them though but if you have questions about that one, PM me.

Open the file in notepad and then when you make your changes, do a save as and over ride the old one. As usual, be sure to save a copy of the original somewhere else so if you mess something up then you can just replace it. Although the game does generate a new one if you just delete it.

Bolded the interesting new stuff.....I like that now we can turn off mean and mischief interactions. You can also control the percentage of marriages in the game.

When I download the new version, do I need to redue the command changes I did in the MCSettings.cfg file?

There are some additions, so you will need to make the changes if you want to use anything other than the defaults.

What I do (you probably know most of this but doing it this way for anybody reading who doesn't) :

    • -Copy/Paste my Saves folder somewhere safe (include your mods/tray/screenshots if you have anything in them. Just a precaution in case something goes wrong)
    • -Move my current mcsettings.cfg file to my desktop
    • -Delete all the MC Command Center files in my mods folder.
    • -Delete the localthumbcache.package file.
    • -Put in all the new MC Command Center files, launch the game so a new mcsettings.cfg file is generated.
    • -Open the old mcsettings.cfg file and minimize it.
    • -Open the new mcsettings.cfg file and minimize it (so they are side by side).
    • -Go down the list comparing them side by side and make the changes. Soon as I see something new? I go over to MTS and check to see what it is and what I want it on.
    • -Once done, do a saveas and select "all". This allows you to save over the .cfg file. Not doing this step will save this as a .txt file and make it useless.
One final note: Always read the update notes to make sure there won't be a conflict with one of your existing mods. I had one that had Sims be in au natural in the sauna. This is now part of the "additional" flavor of this mod. So, I removed that other mod just to be safe.

I'm glad you figured it out.

What was the mistake? If you don't mind sharing in case somebody else has the same problem.

It can be confusing because as far as I can tell, he is the only one doing mods this way right now with those extensions.

I downloaded the updated file, there is something odd I noticed. The settings.cfg file has a list of one of the setting files I didn't download. I'm not sure if those are doing anything, just seemed odd that they were on the list.

Is it the "W" mod add-on settings? If you don't have it installed, it won't do anything.

That's what I thought, it just seemed weird that he included the setting options even without the appropriate mod installed. I don't think he did that last time anyway.
