Weekly Facebook Column: Sims Player Story Highlights

It’s that time again! Time for our weekly segment highlighting just some of the best our amazing Sims Community Facebook group has to offer! Every week, we’ll be sharing some great stories and screenshots with you from the Facebook group that really made us go WOW!

Let’s check out some of this week’s highlights.

“‘Celebrating Dia de los Muertos for the coolest mom ever’

I do still remember the day when one of my most favourite mom in the game Juliane had sadly passed away. She was just chilling in the sauna during that time, and I was busy playing with Tim (LOL, and yes, I’m her husband) doing his workout in the spa. I spent so much time with Tim and haven’t noticed that Juliane felot so uncomfy and unexpectedly died of spontaneous combustion.

The family got so devastated that day, the kids and their pet Bantay felt so sad and sorry for their mom and grandpa dad and Tim felt the same way also and so I myself as well. So I decided to build an ofrenda for her so the family can mourn and celebrate together. Then that night, Juliane have unexpectedly managed to come in the house and was pleased by all the efforts her family have done for her. I really guess that you didn’t know what you have till’ it’s gone.” – Tim Z.

Why We Love It: Tim’s heartwarming celebration of a departed loved one’s life is bittersweet. While his Sim family clearly misses their matriarch, they love her enough to honour her memory on the Day of the Dead. They’ve put together a beautiful memorial with her picture and you can tell her spirit is moved by all the love her family has shown for her. On top of Tim’s amazing decorating skills, he’s edited his screenshots beautifully.

“Summer in Winderburg turned out to be very…rainy. It has been raining constantly for the past few days, however, that night was probably the worst so far. Heavy raindrops drummed as they hit the roof, waking up the Lobo family several times during the night. The kids kept running into their parents’ bedroom, scared and crying, and Arla howled in the corner of Celine and Walter’s bedroom. What a night!

Why We Love It: Vivianna has turned her gameplay into a fully fleshed-out written story! Her Sims world comes to life with her vivid descriptions of rain making a drumming noise against the roof of her Sims’ house and the dog howling. As a writer myself, this kind of in-depth imagery in Vivianna’s storytelling really stood out. Her excerpt from her blog enticed me to click to read more! We hope you will, too! Amazing storytelling, Vivianna! Keep up the aweSIM work!

“Winter came in a blink of a eye, but that doesnt bother Rose. Her love of warm fuzzy socks, hot cocoa and curling under a blanket makes cold seasons her favorite time of the year.” – Lisa L.

Why We Love It: Just look at that amazing winter wonderland! It makes me excited for the holiday season already! Lisa’s Sim, Rose, looks like she’s having a blast out in this chilly weather and can you blame her? Her hometown looks like a scene from a holiday card! Just beautiful. Enjoy the winter season, Rose!

“Hi everyone! I hope you all had a great day! I have an update on the Martinez family!

As y’all know, Diego passed and it really hit the family hard. Blakely is now a widow and has 6 kids to take care of. Luckily, her mom decided to move in for a few months to help take care of the kids! We aged up the babies and they are now toddlers! Blakely‘ mom, Sophia, has been a GREAT help to the family!” – Madison K.

Why We Love It: Although the passing of a beloved family member is always sad, it’s great to see other relatives stepping in to help out. Blakely has things rough being a widow and mom to six kids, but thankfully mom has come to the rescue! Aren’t moms great? We love Madison’s true-to-life update on her Sim family and just look at those toddlers! What cute little munchkins! Keep us updated on the Martinez family, Madison! We want to know how the little ones get along with grandma.

“Contractions are No Joke!!!

Why We Love It: Few things in life (or The Sims) are as exciting as the birth of a new baby and it looks like Whitney’s Sim is about to find that out for herself, although we think she’ll probably appreciate it more after her painful labour, ha! Whitney is so dedicated to her Simming sessions that she has a public Facebook page dedicated to her stories! How cool is that? If you’d like to see more Sims updates from Whitney, click the link above and give her page a like! Thanks for sharing, Whitney!
