EA Quietly Retires The Sims Medieval

What’s going on?

It appears that Electronic Arts has quietly retired one of the of The Sims Spin-Off titles from 2010. We’re most certainly talking about the timeless classic The Sims Medieval, which seems to have been pulled back from official stores including EA App and Steam with no prior warning or public announcement. Here’s everything we know so far:

Apothecary Medieval 4

The Sims Medieval Store Page

The official EA Store page for The Sims Medieval is still up. However, if you look into the right side of the page you’ll notice that the game is “Not Available” for purchase, and instead directs you to other recommended Sims games still active.

The Sims Medieval Gone From Steam

Looking into the history of The Sims Medieval’s presence on Steam, it appears it was pulled back from the Store page quietly 2 months ago on March 10th, 2026. According to the last update provided from SteamDB.

What now?

If you’ve previously purchased The Sims Medieval from either the EA App or Steam you’ll still be available to access the game, download and play it. However, any potential new players looking to try The Sims Medieval will no longer be able to purchase it.

The game was originally released in March 2011 for PC and Mac, several months after The Sims 3 got its 3rd Expansion Pack “Late Night”. The Sims Medieval released an additional “Pirates & Nobles” Expansion Pack which later become a part of the standard The Sims Medieval package on official EA storefronts.

Slowly but surely EA is making their list of abandoned software evergrowing. Will this be in any way related to other Sims Spinoffs announced for 2026 and beyond or are they planning to release a Remaster and call it a new thing again? We’ll know more when the time is right.

Until then, let us know what you think about EA abandoning The Sims Medieval in the comments section down below. For all the latest news and updates on The Sims Franchise (and beyond) stick around to Sims Community!

RIP

Darkening Demise

Another one of the list alongside The Sims Stories trilogy.

It’s sad to see The Sims Medieval treated that way.
However, the game has been delisted off Steam since 2016. The March 2026 changelist was just a Steam‑wide automated update affecting about 268k items.
