EA Community Manager responds to the recent Rumors about The Sims 4 Royalty Themed Expansion Pack.
The Sims 4 Last Expansion Pack rumors were fueled yesterday when a new report from a Sims insider surfaced the internet. Claiming that The Sims 4 will be getting its last Expansion Pack next year that will be themed around Royalty and bring a unique new world with “three different kingdom types”. The insider stated this is the last big gameplay release for The Sims 4 Series, indicating that The Sims 4 will only be getting Kits and Game Updates for the forseeable future.

- EP21 is focused on royalty with three kingdom types, only one of which is based on africa.
- We were gonna get a whole african world for free but but it was canned for some reason.
More information was stated in the thread by the insider revealing that The Sims Team and Maxis plan to shift new gameplay focus towards the rumored Sims Project X. This game, which is rumored to be a new single player experience with speculated features such as Open Neighborhoods, busier Simulation and updated graphics will differ from the officially announced Sims Project Rene. Which so far by the talks of it has been revealing itself as a cross-platform multiplayer experience.

Official Response from EA
In a response to a Reddit thread talking about The Sims 4 Last Expansion Pack rumor, an official Community Manager profile from EA shared a vague response to the overall rumor mill and all the different leaks and information that it contains. Stating that “there’s a lot of misinformation going around – we’ll be back in early January with what to know…”

Hey Simmers. We know there’s a lot of misinformation going around. We’ll be back in early January with what to know via our official Sims channels. We hope you all enjoy the holidays!
– Mindy (EA Community Manager)

The misinformation that the EA Community Manager pointed out in this response to the original leak article could point towards several different alleged leaked information. It could mean that all of it is untrue, some of it untrue or all being true in the end. Taking into consideration that EA’s stance on leaks remains strict on their official channels such as Discord.
The following conduct and/or content may result in a warning, muting, time-out, suspension, or removal from the server:

Either way, it’s been a while since we’ve last had official information detailing the promised transparency on The Sims Project Rene updates and future Sims releases. There hasn’t been a Behind The Sims Episode since January 2025 which teased and revealed upcoming Sims 4 Releases and the arrival of Sims 1 and Sims 2 Legacy collection. The Sims Project Rene was last talked about through official EA channels in the September 2023 episode of Behind The Sims.

It’s also been some time since we last got a new Sims 4 Release Roadmap. The current Roadmap of releases, which was only revealed in an exclusive leak, is coming to an end with 2025 wrapping up. We should at least get some new breakdown of upcoming releases following the announcement patterns of The Sims Team.

Here’s to hoping that a longer official showcase of upcoming Sims releases is in order for the beginning of 2026. Until then, we want to know what you think!

Both
I honestly hate the entire sims community as a whole. It doesn’t feel like it used to feel.
honestly i think the sims 4 being a more “accessible” game (in gameplay AND aesthetics) brought over the “cozy” videogame crowd, and one thing you need to know about the Cozy Labubu Farming Sim Rainy Day crowd is that they’re one of the most toxic videogame niches lmao. i swear, i actively participated in the sims community around sims 3 and seeing the sims 4 community now, its full of entitled and lazy people. i think Anadius should have started killing people.
The Sims 3 community was great back then. I had so many discussions with lots of players, many YouTubers who stopped when The Sims 4 came out. We had so much gameplay, so many possibilities. There was a lot of mutual support, sharing, joy and enthusiasm. Even at EA, the teams did a lot of live streams. Every year there was a convention in Cologne, Germany. YouTubers could discover and play with the new expansions before their release, and they could meet the developers and producers. It was another world. Everything has changed so much, and not for the better, unfortunately.
The Sims 3 required a more strategic intelligent multitasking way of playing the game, which is likely it attracted a far better community.
Sims 3 was the beginning of the end for me, it was far easier than sims 2 and lost a lot of the charm.
I never got what was so amazing about sims 3. Besides open world and creat a style, lol.
Are they the same ppl who are really weird about alpha cc?
Even TS4 community wasn’t this bad a few years ago.
I remember if you used alpha CC pre-2020ish generally nobody really gave a shit. I recall TS4 was never really referred to as a “cozy” game before then either.
sims 4 “fans” are NOT sims fans at all, they don’t even know or have played a true good life simulator game, they deserve the barebones game they have and i hope it gets more and more broken to a point where it becomes unplayable to all of them.
Oh please shut up, no idea who hurt you but you are definitely bitter and toxic.
How nice of you to wish upon those who genuinely enjoy a game for it to become unplayable for them. That’s not toxic at all.
How is that fair? People have different likes, tastes, preferences, etc. Not everyone likes the same things or likes things the same way. Humankind isn’t a hive, we are all different. Who are you to say that only your feelings and views about something are valid, and others (who don’t share your opinion) are wrong for feeling the way they do. People like what they like.
Don’t get me wrong, I know the same is true of the pro-TS4 part of the community as well, many of them also bashing those that don’t like the game. What is with people bashing and insulting and attacking each other over differences in opinion. Seriously.
Live and let live.
Well, this sims 4 fan has been playing sims i was 10 and im now 30+ . But OK!
If we finally don’t get a royalty ep it would be a bummer, I wanted to play as Mohammed bin Salman in his African kingdom.
I can guarantee that the royalty and Africa theme is accurate and that this is indeed the final expansion; there will be no more. My source, whom I won’t name, obtained this information from an EA employee with whom they have contacts. I knew this even before the SimsCommunity article, and it’s not the same source as theirs.
However, there was never any talk of a free African world; that’s false information. I also know that EA wasn’t happy that the new game project leaked so quickly because, according to them, it was premature. Finally, I can also confirm that the teams don’t yet know what to do with all the outdated Sims 4 content for the new game. No decisions have been made regarding the integration of elements such as features or objects, etc., other than seasons, memories, and open neighborhoods, into the new game.
Personally I think that Sims 4 has more than enough expansion and game packs, although another vacation destiny pack like Jungle Adventure & Journey to Batuu would be nice. Before moving to a new Sims game, I think that all of the game glitches and issues in both Sims 3 and Sims 4 should be fixed first since many simmers still enjoy these games. That would allow for a new Sims game to start fresh. I think the new Sims game should combine the best features of Sims 2, 3 & 4 with the open world format of Sims 3.
More simple. Maxis will no add new worlds after the one at Royalty EP
Reason?
Now arabs own EA (93%). Cant include woke
Why so many downvotes?
If is the true. Arabs are the new owners with 93%
So, is expected new directives be no woke, no lgbt, traditional family
Maxis with no LGBT-friendly and no woke, will refuse make a new without DEI
I honestly don’t want the Sims 4 to end, as there is still a lot that needs to be added. 🙁
Agreed, I want my hotels at least
A new base game is far more interesting.
DLC for TS4 will NEVER live up to its potential because they’re all limited by the worst base game in the history of the franchise.
Either way, 11+ years in the same generation has been disappointing, to say the least.
If you want more DLC for The Sims 4, after over 100 releases, you need to seek help.
I’m so torn on all the rumors. I can take or leave a monarchy EP, but only one African neighborhood would be an absolute joke when folks have been wanting an African world for years.
As for a new base game, I think TS4’s engine definitely needs an update. For maintenance alone, that would be welcome, and I’ll take open neighborhoods no problem, it sounds like a good compromise between how closed off TS4 feels versus TS3’s horrible lag when moving around. However, these rumors also say gameplay will be more simplified, which worries me. Having a billion systems doing similar things, the issue of each EP adding something new but disconnected and shallow, is a headache. I’d rather consolidate those. However, simplify the core gameplay features, like relationships, work, or skill-building? No thanks, TS4 already struggles with getting those to be a nice challenge. Some of the recent EPs hold promise that the devs would be able to make a streamlined yet satisfying game if given the opportunity, but everything around them shows they might not get that opportunity.
And the last thing I want is mobile slop.
I have my doubts about the ending of the sims 4 and the rumours about it. Because on the season of the sims calendar from 2025 there was also a hint about bands on the november month, we haven’t got bands yet and we are also missing hotels in my opinion which existed in almost every sims version. Also there was a survey about future content including traveling with campers, hairdressers and cars. And the sims team also said that the sims 4 and project Rene would exist next to each other, project Rene isn’t even out yet…
If they would make a Sims 5 I would be fine with the next installment but this Project X scares me. After it said it would be simplified I felt like they should stick to Sims 4 then. I don’t want open Neighborhoods if the Game itself feels barebones then
I assure you it’s gonna be full of microtransactions.
Their response is corporate speak for “We’ll have our official statement out in January, after the publicists are done making sure things sound better than they actually are.” So yeah, pretty much confirms it.
It would be lowkey funny if ts4 is the first mainline sims game without a singing career, hotels, spiral staircases, and idek what else. As in, I would be laughing not to cry for having spent so much money on it for years just to find out the previous games are more fun
I’m in an odd situation when it comes to The Sims. I love the franchise, yet I’m not sure I’d move onto a new entry or start over at this point. And and the same time, I sort of want The Sims 4 to “end.” (There’s tons of specific content I’d like for The Sims 4, but I just feel like things are SUPPOSED to end at some point. It’s healthy)
IF it is the last content update but we still get new furniture/clothing, I’d hope the ppl sticking around at least get new worlds as well. Or just a “finale” with 50000 lots.
Well, that statement confirms there’s at least a grain of truth to the rumors. I for one am looking forward to a royalty pack. If well done the gameplay could be game changing for me. Not to mention how gorgeous the CAS and B&B will be. I highly doubt this will be the last expansion though.
That said, I also wouldn’t too opposed if this pack is it. TS4 is on year 11, far longer than the previous iterations. Things have felt like they’ve been winding down for awhile now, especially after the three expansions this year.
I hope it’s not true, i love ts4
I’ve been saying for years the game is cooked. I just won’t play it , I’ve gone back to the TS2 for years now. More and more bugs. I’m hopeful something else comes out.
I also hope it’s not true. I’ve really enjoyed playing TS4, only downloading the packs I’m really interested in (no mods, no CC) and haven’t had any major errors in all my time playing. I’ve got a busy life offline and don’t want to invest all the time/energy into building a universe from scratch again.
I swear to God if we never get bands with the Sims 4 I will…just bitch about it and buy whatever other slop they put in front of me
