Creators Have Given Us a Glimpse of Fairies in Action!
The early-access embargo has lifted, and creators in the EA Creator Network have unveiled a steady stream of new information regarding Fairies, their abilities, interactions, and even the effect the lunar cycle has on them. Creators such as Elliandra, Lilsimsie, and James Turner have given us unique looks into this returning occult type. Let’s take a look!

Becoming a Fairy
In Elliandra’s recent video ‘All About Fairies‘, we get an extensive deep dive into the Fairy occult type and everything they have to offer.
To become a Fairy, a Sim must first source themselves a ‘Fairy Seedling’. This can be sourced in a number of ways. Your Sim can ask an existing Fairy for one; they can be found in the world, earned by completing Innisgreen quests, or simply bought from the computer if your Sim is feeling lazy.

Once acquired your Sim can plant this seed in the ground or a planter, and it will summon Mother Nature, featured in the Gameplay Trailer. Your Sim will then need to ‘Ask for Mother Nature’s Charm’ and will receive a potion. Once the potion has been consumed, you will be told to swim in Moondrop Springs, which can be found in the Everdew neighbourhood.

Your Sim will then magically grow wings and turn into a Fairy. Your Sim now has unlocked new abilities, a change in their needs panel, and so much more to discover. Let’s check out everything new with the Emotional Power need!
Emotional Power

Fairies have different needs from human Sims, similar to Werewolves and Spellcasters. Fairies won’t have a hunger or bladder need; instead, they will have a new needs bar labelled ‘Emotional Force’. This will be drained every time your Fairy uses an ability such as flying, enchanting plants, or any other unique interaction. Don’t let this run down; otherwise, you may run into the new death type, ’emotional starvation’. This comes with an exclusive grave stone!

Fairy Abilities
Much like other occult types (sorry, Aliens and Mermaids), Fairies have a unique set of skills that can be gained through earning Ability Points. These points can be gained by performing new Fairy interaction types, but at the risk of losing Emotional Power.

There are five levels to progress through as a Fairy, including:
- Faint
- Glowing
- Glimmering
- Brilliant
- Radiant
Each level unlocks five or more abilities that you can trade in your Ability Points for. There are four categories to choose from, depending on what kind of Fairy your Sim wants to be. Manipulation, as the name suggests, is the darker path, allowing you to gain Emotional Power from performing Mean and Mischief interactions. The Emotion category focuses on positive interactions and giving back to the community. The nature path has a focus on all things nature, as the name suggests. Your Fairies will be able to enchant plants and connect with nature on a personal level. The final category is customisation, which includes options such as negating relationship changes and gaining Emotional Power from friendly interactions.

Unique Fairy Interactions
There are many new and unique interactions that Fairies can perform as opposed to their human counterparts. Some can be unlocked, but many are available from the get-go. Here are just a few examples of Fairy interactions:
- Play in the Sink
- Play in the Fridge
- Sleep in the dollhouse
- Sleep on the piano
- Cleansing in Nature – Refills hygiene
- Fly here instantly

New Fairy Aspirations
As with many packs, Enchanted by Nature features a couple of new Aspirations, including one for Fairies. This acts more as a guide to playing as a Fairy, but may be useful for new players.
With this Aspiration, there is the first tier titled ‘Fairy Stories’ which has two levels with three goals each. A Fairy’s Journey will walk you through how to become a Fairy, and Embracing Fairy Life will show you the ropes when it comes to playing as a Fairy.

Once completed, your Sim will be given a choice of two options. These depend on your preferred playstyle; you can choose either ‘Harmonious Fairy Path’ or ‘Discordant Fairy Path’. As the names suggest, these two differ greatly and will affect how your Fairy Sims are perceived by others.

Harmonious Fairy Path
The Harmonious Fairy Path is all about curing Sims of ailments, a new feature introduced with Enchanted by Nature, and nurturing nature. The three tasks include:
- Cure other Sims’ ailments 3 times with a cure or apply an ailment’s Fairy ability.
- Use the growth eruption Fairy ability 3 times.
- Use the nurture nature Fairy ability 3 times.

Discordant Fairy Path
The Discordant Fairy path focuses on the evil side of things. Fairies that follow this path will be instructed to do all sorts of malicious actions, such as:
- Use the cure or apply an ailment Fairy ability to inflict ailments on 3 Sims.
- Shift the luck of 3 Sims.
- Manipulate 3 objects.
- Trigger fear of magic on a Sim.

The Lunar Cycle
The Lunar Cycle was introduced to the Base Game in a patch before the release of The Sims 4 Werewolves Game Pack. With Werewolves, it applied bonuses and also affected how much rage they had. It also had minor effects on other occult types, and the same goes for Fairies.
With Fairies, the lunar cycle will have an effect on Emotional Force, either making it deplete more slowly or more quickly. Check out the full effects provided by Ellieandra below!

On a side note, I wish they’d organize aspirations along some clear structure. Some occults have their own tab, some fit under other tabs (vampire aspirations especially), and some don’t even have aspirations. It adds up to make it feel like aspirations have lost focus as personality-shaping core goals.
