The Sims 4

Another Sims 4 Player Survey Has Surfaced

sims 4 player survey fi

This time focusing on players who feel disconnected with the game.

A new Sims 4 Player Survey has surfaced around August 11th, 2025. Titled “The Sims 4 – New Content”, the player-focused survey focuses on the player’s hypothesized disinterest in the game. As well as asking about the player’s identity information such as race, gender and sexual orientation.

Here’s a breakdown of this short fueled official EA survey:

New Sims 4 Player Survey Breakdown

Unlike previous official EA surveys that take several minutes to complete, this survey consists of only two questions.

The first question asks the player about the possible reasons why they might’ve stopped playing, or have taken a break from The Sims 4. There’s more than two dozens of reasons listed, ranging anywhere from personal ones like hardware setup, personal time or wanting to play other games to game-related reasons. Like the number of DLCs, the game feeling “repetitive”, outdated or glitched out.

The second part of the new Sims 4 Player survey focuses solely on collecting player’s personal information. Like the player’s race/ethnicity, gender and sexual orientation.

The latest official survey is live right now. You can take it by pressing the survey button below!

Thanks to @lunar_britney for the discovery!

Why is this Sims 4 Survey relevant?

Electronic Arts has pushed out multiple official Sims 4 Surveys over the last couple of weeks. We had an official Animations survey two weeks ago asking about which core animations we want to see improved. Then, a Sims 4 Updates Survey surfaced last week asking about what type of Free Content we want to see more of in The Sims 4 Base Game.

The latest 3rd Sims 4 Player Survey could be used to gain extra statistics and information about prioritizing future Sims 4 Game updates. Considering it focuses solely on the player’s reason for distancing from the game and their private information.

The other survey of free updates also asked race/ethnicity, gender and sexual orientation as final questions.

As for new kits, I only hope on things I like/interested in like most people do.

The Sims 4 is the game of all of the Sims Franchise that has the most diversity yet it’s the one that has the most boring gameplay. Maybe they should focus on making the game fun before anything else. That’s my take on it.

It’s not that diverse yet…. hardly any native American in it or Portuguese and other Spanish race and barely any Indian and no Muslim in it or international races and cultures

I’ll agree Native American and Muslim representation could use a boost.

The Sims has always been multicultural and diverse. People complaining about the diversity are the same ones who mod the game for no dark skin Sims.

There’s no need to go to extremes. I never cared about diversity but I wouldn’t want to remove dark skins. Who even does that?! If the devs have some spare time to add a new culture or two AFTER fixing many huge bugs, then go at it! But they instead prefer to do anything but fix the game (and of course, release new kits).

There are specific teams designated to do things. Most of the money, per EA direction, goes into development over non gamebreaking bug fixes.

Your issue is with EA’s business model, yet here you point to the boogeyman of 2025, Diversity.

Pointing to Diversity is a big tell of your mindset when there are greater issues like parsing content into tons of different kits/expansions/packs. Leaning on old animations for decades. Reusing content to push content quickly. Changing game structure to screw over modders because ‘that’s optional’ despite it being a huge part of the community that EA wants to cultivate as well?

But again the focus on ‘Diversity’, which most companies are logically actually amicable toward because it only increases their reach and bottom dollar, from people who don’t like some aspect of the game is VERY telling. These same people are usually saying, ‘no politics I want to get away from the real world!’ Which is just code for, ‘I don’t like all those diverse folks and despite having tools and resources to avoid or not interact with it I’m still going to be fragile and attempt to save face by hiding my despicable views.’

Perhaps hide your leanings a bit better, or recognize what you’re saying by jumping on the ‘why are they adding diversity when there’s bugs to be fixed?’ line of critique.

There’s always going to be bugs to be fixed and people who bring up diversity as being less important than bugs are speaking clearly despite ‘not meaning it that way.’ because the content train will still keep coming and producing bugs.

You are clearly saying slash the Diversity while knowing the bugs will still remain.

Really. Mind your words.
Your intentions. Rather obvious.

Perhaps, you misunderstood. I never tried to hide anything. You have your opinion, I have mine. Clearly, this “diversity” is something you live for. Well, I don’t. I want a game that has an engaging content so that I don’t get bored after a couple of minutes. Especially since that game now costs $1500+. And I’m far from being alone.

Unfortunately that will unlikely happen since still so many players request diversity instead of actual gameplay. Just last week I saw someone on Reddit bragging about completing another survey where they demanded EA adds more cultural representation since that’s the most important aspect of the game for that said person.

To be honest, some (or even many) of you will want to light me on fire, but hey, there’s a freedom of speech so I will say it nonetheless. I never cared about diversity or representation. It’s a fantasy game for me. I play as someone else and never ever wanted to create myself in the game. During TS2 I was able to play 7 hours straight because there was always so much to do. Nowadays, with TS4, I rarely play for more than 2 hours. The game becomes boring quite quickly.

It’s cool to see different cultures in the game that I was unfamiliar with before. But my country and my cultural has never been even hinted at in any of the Sims games and I’m not complaining. Of course, that’d be cool but it’s not something I require.

I agree with you, I hate the word “community.” For me, it’s sectarianism, labeling someone based on their orientation or representation of where they live or were born, and I don’t like that. The Sims are programmed to be attracted to both men and women by default in the game, and everyone is free to do what they want, but if today the game has become “woke,” you have to choose a certain nationality, you have to choose non-binary, he, she… soon we’ll be able to identify with a tree with our Sims. That’s real life. it exists among students in California, it never stops, it’s precisely because people who say this or that have imposed themselves on EA to the detriment of gameplay, and EA has so little creativity for its game that they’re betting everything on it, I never experienced this in The Sims 2 and 3, and it was never a problem, but I feel like it’s the only thing that matters to EA today. Times have changed, The Sims has changed, and that’s why I’m quitting The Sims 4. I’m fed up. If EA prefers not to question itself about gameplay and have a game that’s dying, count me out. I like to play and have fun without politics or anything else. I should point out that, as a man, I prefer men, but I would never claim it, and I refuse to be labeled. I just want a fun and varied game with lots of gameplay. I don’t care about the rest.

i am a lifelong player. i have stopped playing because you call for updates every other week and i have to set aside time to dedicate to fixing a game that is more work than it is fun. spend more time putting out quality so we can spend less time updating. i have serious issue with new privacy concerns regarding the trackers and the requirement to agree to a new TOS, and i won’t play until they’re fixed.

i don’t want 20 new packs of rushed hyper-diverse content and no glowing in game ad is going to change my mind. i grew up with this game in a literal sense, i have watched this evolve. EA you have become invasive and predatory going so far as having users agree to new ToS saying we agree that the games we buy aren’t our own and we have to agree we have no rights to the game we BUY from you. the days we bought your game on CD one could be sure that we would have access to the games we buy, but that is no longer true.

that is deeply problematic for me and i don’t want to buy digital content or gameplay any further, seeing as i won’t actually own use to it should EA decide. i won’t lose thousands of dollars of investment to error.

The Sims 4 hasn’t been good for a while, well… It’s good with Wicked Whims installed lol… But during any single gameplay, it’s impossible to do 95% of the content, especially without cheats, due to the Sims going red bar in one of their needs!
