With the official Sims 4 Sim Your Summer Roadmap release right around the corner on June 5th, 2025, the internet sleuths are hard at work giving us leaks into what we can look forward to. Rumor has it that the Sims 4 team is introducing a new gameplay feature: The Sims 4 Dream Quests. These quests are intended to help guide and inspire your Sims to achieve their lifelong dreams by completing goals.
The Sims 4 Dream Quests Leak
Rumor Has It
Let’s get into the rumors, shall we? Last week, Simmer and Twitter/X user @lowpolypancake was doing some digging (thank you!) and noticed a bit of code in the most recent patch that mentioned something called a “Dream”. You can also see a line mentioning rewards for completing Sims 4 Dream Quests, and a “Sim family journey”. This got the conversation started.

While we don’t know too much and nothing is official yet, thankfully, Simmer and Twitter/X user @lunar_britney followed up to give us some more insight and even a few screenshots:

Dream Quests & Their Events
After making their choice, your Sim will start a goal-oriented event that rewards them for completing steps along their path to achieving their dream. Similar to a Holiday or a Date, this event will pop-up in the upper left-hand corner of your game, and give you a handful of goals to work on. From what we can see so far, these events may be more geared towards new players, as they seem to include relatively simple goals like becoming a parent or earning a promotion.
These goals could possibly increase in difficulty as you complete each round, or these could be the only goals your Sim needs to check off their list in order to complete their Dream Quests. Maybe we’ll know more soon through the upcoming roadmap release!

One of these Sims 4 Dream Quests focuses on having a successful family through careers and aspirations, while the other takes your Sim on the journey of turning your house into a home through things like a Nature aspiration or being the best party host. The first Dream Quest even seems to align with the code above that mentions completing a dream and continuing a family journey! From the pictures, These two Dream Quests look like they can be completed through the Base Game, but @lunar_britney thinks there will also be some pack-specific quests we can look forward to.

On the bright side, since this feature doesn’t seem to be tied to any specific pack, any Simmer should be able to play with Sims 4 Dream Quests regardless of the packs they do or don’t own! On top of that, expanding this feature with Expansion Pack and Game Packs in mind could show us new ways to play cross-packs.
I’m ready to see what other Dream Quests could be added to the Sims 4 gameplay!
Any Thoughts?
The Dream Quests feature would be an interesting addition to the game for sure, by adding another layer to having your Sim live a long life. Plus, who knows what rewards the Sims 4 team has in store for the Sims that complete their quests. Could your Sim earn new Traits? Extra Simoleons? Something else wild and unheard of? Whatever it its, hopefully this feature won’t just be an echo of Aspirations, Bucket Lists, Holidays, etc. and will actually give our cherished Sims a little more to life (and give us more to do).
Are you looking forward to the release of the Dream Quests feature in The Sims 4? Do you know anything else about this possible new addition to the game? Let us know below!
Honestly I hope this is gonna be a thing, I miss the aspiration quests like in sims 3
I hope you can turn them off. I already don’t like all the stuff that pops up.
I second wanting the ability to turn these off. They look way too general and binary to create diverse emergent gameplay. Also, I thought this is what scenarios were for? There are so many mechanics that could have been enriched or revamped instead of making something new and conflicting/unrelated.
Plus making it more intrusive UI? What is with them trying to clutter our screens?
This actually looks cool for once!!
We already have aspirations, the bucket list, wants and fears burn outs and if we want we play a scenario. All add goals or tasks to direct the lives of sims. I think yet another layer of long term tasks is too much. Too much of this kind of features undermines the sandbox gameplay. I hope it is optional.
This seems like it would work for players who enjoy the scenario system or challenges. Hopefully they aren’t timed or that you have to be playing with a new household like some of the scenarios. Hopefully it has its own area like scenarios do and isn’t forced or becomes a distraction for those who don’t want to partake. I assume they’ll display it similar to how you have to go looking for scenarios on the main page but you never know. Edit – a word.
How is this different from bucket list goals and scenarios? I don’t know why they don’t deepen and expand existing systems instead of tacking on new ones. The game is entirely too big, and not nearly deep enough to sustain all this.
i hate the aspirations system so much, lifetime aspirations reworked improves it but even with all the options it adds i still have sims where it feels like their aspiration doesn’t fit them at all and i had to settle for what was “closest.” i also hate the bonus traits lol. if they reworked the aspirations system and made it more nitty-gritty and extremely customizable with way more options and different pathes along the same aspiration (which this looks like, like how a career can have two different branches) i would be happy.
actually looking closer at this i see now that completing an aspiration in a specific category is on the list of goals, so different branches for the same aspiration is unlikely. it seems like this will be separate from aspirations but also similar in giving your sims goals to work towards for fulfillment in life. which makes me wonder how they’ll distinguish it more.
It Seems like developers don’t have idea how to improve gameplay . I know they are trying and I really appreciate them .Sims 4 already have aspirations , milestones , lifestyles , whims and bucket list but gameplay is still lack of details. Why don’t they improve them instead of adding repetitive goals over and over again? Sims 2 had simple system fears , wants and memories but gameplay was so deep and each Sims had unique personality base on their aspiration.
