The Current State of The Sims Project Stories

It’s been a while since we’ve had any form of news about The Sims Project Stories. In fact, the last time we reported on the on this The Sims Labs mobile game was back in early March 2025!

However, despite the time between updates, we have some exciting new screenshots from @thesimaccess over on X. They have shared a dozen new screenshots showing that The Sims Project Stories is still very much alive and continuing to be updated periodically.

New The Sims Project Stories News

Twelve new images showcasing some of the new features and general quality of life updates made to The Sims Project Stories.

So, let’s break down these new images and see what has changed!

Promotional Images

Firstly, we’ve got a few new promotional images for The Sims Project Stories. Each features a new tagline that hints at and promotes the various features within the game.

You can also spot some familiar faces, such as Bob Pancakes and Bella Goth, as well as the much-loved Cowplant.

While we find ourselves wondering why there is a Cowplant just sitting, causing chaos in the middle of the road, it does make you think what is so haunting about Plumbrook’s past!

Building naturally appears to still play a big part in The Sims Project Stories, and appears to work in a similar way to how it does in The Sims Mobile currently.

Plumbrook Screenshots

Next up, we’ve got a handful of screenshots that showcase some locations within Plumbrook.

The first three images showcase some different areas and homes in Plumbrook. WE get a rough idea as to what some of the homes look like, but additionally, another glance at The Sims Project Stories user interface, our Sims’ profile on screen and also some energy bolts in the world.

It also appears that the more you progress through The Sims Project Stories, the more areas you can unlock. It will be interesting to find out how that is possible in the future.

It looks like one of the unlockable areas will be the Goth Family Glade, which certainly is not haunted!

Purchasing Additional Objects

Want more objects and items in the game? Then fear not, as in another one of the new images from The Sims Access, it looks like there are some purchasable items you can buy.

While it is not yet confirmed how, these could be bought by using in-game currency, completing certain criteria or by purchasing using your local currency.

New Mini Games?

Another one of the screenshots also shows what appears to be another new mini-game. It appears that players are required to match a particular number of matching gems to eliminate them to help win.

This is not the first time we have seen glimpses of the mini-games. We last reported on them earlier this year when new information was revealed.

In-Game Surveys

In addition to the above images, there appears to be a new survey that was shared in this latest The Sims Project Stories update. Although we only see the one question shown in the image below, it does have us wondering what the other thirteen questions were about.

The Sims Project Stories Features

So, what do we know so far?

We know the basic features of The Sims Project Stories that we reported in our previous posts; however, to this date, we have not seen much in the way of updates or major news releases from The Sims Labs Team.

While at a glance it looks like it combines several aspects from both The Sims FreePlay and The Sims Mobile. It’s important to remember that The Sims Project Stories is not a successor to previous mobile games from The Sims but a standalone instead.

Ok, but Town Stories isn’t Project Rene, right?

It is yes

It is not. The Sims Town Stories is a strictly mobile game. It’s basically another iteration of The Sims Mobile, which ended development a while back. It features the typical mobile systems you’d expect like timers and energy and such that you need to wait for or pay real money to replenish.

Project Rene will be for mobile, console, and PC and will be closer to the regular gameplay you’d expect from the mainline games.

Sims town stories is a brand new mobile game that is similar to the sims mobile but is not the sims mobile. (Sims mobile ended all spirit and development last year). Rene is a separate project for consoles and PC with no known release date yet.

Because of the in app purchases? Well, that’s the parents responsibility to turn on device in app purchases, not the developers.

Absolutely not playing this pudge game. This style and genre of App Store games needs to go away. 2025 is coming to a close…what are we doing…

ok Sims team I understand… let me validate you… it makes sense for you guys to want this type of game… You know with your lack of personality, excessive try-hard attempts at having a personality with your “quirks” and lack of self-awareness…but what about us? the people who carried your legacy, your franchise for more than 20 years. When and where did we tell you to do this? What in your collected statistics tells you this is what makes us pick up your game? Because you outdid yourself with this one…girrrl

Project Rene is basically sims 5, but they aren’t calling it that. It’s coming to console and PC. But no release date yet. The only reason they dropped the sims 5 marketing from Rene was the negative feedback toward the games look.
