New The Sims Labs survey is collecting data about the future of The Sims 4. Possibly for a new Pack release.
The Sims Labs, an official name of a Maxis subdivision that collects information and playtest data for new Sims products is interested in new feedback regarding the future of The Sims 4. Specifically, how you play Rags to Riches and Legacy Gameplay. Including what would you like to see more of to support that type of gameplay and storyline opportunities.
The two new threads on The Sims Official Discord surfaced just minutes ago, asking in great detail for feedback on these two subjects. Here’s what they’ve shared and the details that they’re interested from the players:

The Sims 4 Legacy Play Feedback
We love seeing your legacy stories in Show Us Your Sims! We have some questions about how you take part in legacy play (playing any family more than one generation) and what would make your experiences better below:
- Are you interested in stories around your Sims family’s past, heritage or ancestors?
- Do you tell those stories yourself? Do you have written examples?
- How do you create those backstories? And what would you need to more easily do this?
- Which objects, Create A Sim, Build Buy, traits, etc. would you help to tell stories about your family’s past?

The Sims 4 Rags to Riches Feedback
Rags to Riches is a fun, community-made challenge Simmers love to take part in! We’re looking to understand how we could make that experience better for you through the following questions:
- What do you enjoy most when playing the “rags to riches” community challenge? Why do you engage with it?
- What were the most interesting stories you experienced within the rags to riches challenge?
- What do you feel could be better in your “rags to riches” experience? (e.g. clearer guidance, in between milestones, rewards, …)
- Which objects, Create A Sim, Build Buy, traits, etc. would you like to have to better tell the initial “rags” or later “riches” phase? Where do you feel it is lacking the most?

You can parttake in the official Discord discussion and send in your feedback in the dedicated Sims Labs channel. You’ll need to pick a Sims Labs user role on Discord before seeing the new feedback threads and sending in your input.

This wouldn’t be the first time that EA and Maxis are conducting a user research for the future of The Sims 4 content. The Sims Labs feedback for The Sims 4 content was playtested first through The Sims 4 Animations survey where players could vote on which common animations should be improved.
A minor user research was conducted about The Sims 4 Autonomy weeks ago through Discord. However, it didn’t talk about things like new Items and Gameplay content like the latest one does. Which could imply about the upcoming Sims 4 Pack or Feature release focusing on Rags to Riches and / or Legacy content.
What are your thoughts on the latest Sims Labs player feedback? What did you share with The Sims Team on Discord? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more Sims 4 News!

The next pack should be a Band pack finally.
Yes! The sound of horror when arranging all my sims on separate instruments. It’s such a mess!
I’ve wanted this for sooooo long
I’ll never forget having to submit my game file (no mods) to the team because I had that bug killing all my animals. The lot they were checking had issues but it had a nice garage using whatever I could. Then about a year later they release the Restoration Workshop Kit. Going through the pack and it’s promo ads I couldn’t help but think “wait are some of these ideas from my broken game?”. I left it alone but checked online to see if anyone else who submitted their game due to issues noticed anything fishy with releases after submitting their game to be looked at by the team… I wasn’t the only one.
I don’t know but do they use our builds and ideas to come up with future packs?
I mean, seems like a good idea to do (though they definitely should have at least mentioned something like “simmer inspired” or something)
Yeah they’d need to that it’s simmer inspired if they’re harvesting ideas from broken bugged out games. That’s not the simmers fault and the simmer wouldn’t have submitted their game file if weren’t broken in the first place.
you think you own anything you make in the sims? lol
who said that milf hunter? I didn’t say I owned anything. Though you commenters are really clowns.
There’s something called “The Gallery” where people like to put on their egos with cute hashtags saying give credit and what not. I’m not doing this. If you’d like you can redirect your attention there instead of thinking I own anything I make in the sims when nothing I wrote states that. I asked “do they use our builds and ideas to come up with future packs?”
Did you invent garages? EA has a lot to legitimately criticize them for, but come on really?
Your take away was that I invested in garages. Ok and ones who feel so strongly about my comment that they have to reply back to it thinking they’re smartasses. LMAO
Go ahead dislike my comments. You think it changes anything.
I literally have screenshots of my build and the promos the designs and the way things are placed are very similar… I even said I left it alone and didnt do anything other than check if others had similar experiences. I’m not suing, I’m not making a big deal about it. But certainly someone here is offended enough to dislike my comment multiple times and then reply back as if I’m an idiot. hilarious
What?! What are you talking about???? So someone decorates something and is suspicious after a YEAR when EA releases a kit that has things similarly decorated and your default is talking trash about EA inventing garages and OP being stupid?
Why does it seem like one person is offended by this person’s comment and decided to reply back so many times with the wrong idea? It’s not that big of a deal calm down. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen stuff like this why pretend like OP is crazy or saying something ridiculous like they believe they own their in builds in the game or EA invented garages?! What?!?
EA does copy ideas from its player base outside of surveys. That doesn’t mean those who notice claim ownership over these builds or items (unless it’s cc but OP stated no mods or cc)
You’re condemned on this site for the most bizarre reasons and the most sensitive seem to be the ones commenting back. Go play COD with your voice chat on or something what are you doing here?
bro what?
i really don’t think they stole your idea bro it’s not like you submitted your own original 3d models and then they released them as paid items without crediting you
I didnt say that
I’m author, I know about copyright. The sad truth is: It’s not legal to copy a whole(!) story and tell it’s yours, BUT it’s legal to “be inspired” by everything. And they’re profis, they know exectly how far they can go, so we can’t fight against, because they don’t did anything what’s not legal. Book, movie or computer game, it’s all the same law. Best thing: Keep everything secret once and for all! I’ve lernt it on the hard way when I was 15 and I’m still angry.
I never said they stole
I specifically said “do they use our builds and ideas to come up with future packs?”
Really wish they wouldn’t just have it on discord seeing as most people don’t have discord (not even all legacy simmers use it)
I agree
This is a great idea! I start almost all of my sims with the homeless challenge and would love to have more options to make that experience more realistic. Enchanted by nature really helped because they can sleep on the ground, bathe in sinks and ponds, etc, but I would welcome more options in that regard.
I made a homeless camp with about 5 or 6 people with tents and everything with the seasons expansion, surprisingly they made it through the winter but I made their personalities savage and mischievous confrontational and criminal. It was fun. I have since moved a few of them out to test out the vampire expansion on them.
I’m offended. I don’t use discord, but I also have something to say! Ancestors? I play my characters from my own books. To talk about their ancestors is telling you my stories, so it’s non of anyones business! But I can tell you about change households, connect families and build legecies: They have too much money after two or three generetions, it makes the game boring. And they have too much stuff like unique self-made things, it makes the game instable.
People say, they like to bring Sims lifes to chaos? I try, but I’m not able to. They’re too successful in job and life. I wish there were better ways to spent much money at once.
If they have too much money and unique self made things then just sell it all and donate the money to people when they ask. Not that difficult.
I do not care. We need spiral staircases!
