It would appear the Microsoft accidentally revealed a listing for The Sims 4: Discover University earlier today. Now this wasn’t just any old listing. This was a listing with more information than what we had previously seen. However it does look like Microsoft has removed the listing after realising their error.
It would appear that the listing is geared towards the console release of the game as a release date of the 17th December 2019 has been found in this listing. While it is not confirmed that this is the true console release date, if both listed dates for PC/Mac and Console are correct it definetly falls in line with how the more recent releases have been scheduled. The leaked date for PC / Mac release is November 15th, 2019.
One of the newest bits of information that has come with this particular listing is the expansion pack features.
With a new world named Britechester to explore, mumerous classes, extracurricular activities and more to explore it would appear that The Sims 4 Discover University will have plenty to offer!
Settle into School – Welcome to Britechester! Begin a new chapter for your Sim when they enroll in the historical University of Britechester or modern Foxbury Institute. Live in a dorm or off-campus, explore Britechester on a bicycle, spend time in the student commons, and have a study session at the library. Cheer on the student body at a school spirit event and wear school colors to show your Sim’s pride.
Stay Classy – Sims enroll in the University that piques their interest, finding classes in biology, computer science, art history, and even villainy. Sounds interesting. I wonder if the new careers will be active like with City Living and Get To Work. I like that they’re adding bikes and a new sport but it makes me wonder if they will add cars eventually (would be the perfect time to bring it in for the EP patch) since we’re getting other modes of transportation (in EPS) except for cars. It would be nice to just have the option to carpool (or a public bus for city living) and a school bus to arrive for teens and younger just for the immersion than anything else so I don’t need NPCs doing the driving said vehicles.
I rather like that there’s no cars polluting the world in Sims and they opted to go with alternatives like boats and bikes instead, absolutely the kind of world I’d want to live in (so if they ever add cars, I really hope it’s optional) but public transport (like a school bus) would be pretty cool though.
I mean there ARE cars (I made it sound like there are none at all before, just wanted to clarify, sorry XD) but there’s just a few and it’s not like they are important. (As in they don’t do anything annoying like being in my way, you don’t have to wait for traffic lights etc.)
This, I can see the potential for cars…
-Get exclusive takeout items at drive-thrus ranging from all in one burger combos (Think the BLT but with a burger) and milkshakes to more fancier fare like family pack lasagna and roast beef.
-Go out racing and prove that your tuned ride can win a race, either race for bragging rights or a chance to take the other sim’s car.
-Racing can be a club activity as well, win as team and get day long happy buffs from it and cash pots and fame.
-Adventures while driving. Go on a road trip and come back with memoirs of hitting long road.
Cars are pointless when the world isn’t open. The sim would drive to the end of the lot and still, loading screen.

They had cars in The Sims 2, and a carpool in The Sims 1.
Cars are not JUST transportation.
They’re a rite of passage for teens (learning to drive). They’re a woohoo/makeout spot. They’re an option for Handiness skill (fixing/upgrading your car).
More importantly, they’re a status symbol. Every object in The Sim is, at the end of the day, pointless. Who cares that your Sim lives in a huge mansion? Why not make them live in an unpainted box?
Because you want your Sim to flaunt their wealth. Cars, especially expensive, luxury models like BMWs and Mercedes (or the Sims equivalent) would be the same.

I always love when robots are in The Sims and I am looking forward to how they will pan out in this EP.

I kind of want the option for roommates that are similar to the TS4 tutorial roommate where you can’t control them and they do their own thing instead of your sim just joining a household like normal and you have control of the roomie(s) too. I also wonder if the universities will be customizable to an extent or a rabbit hole – I’m not really that picky about which one as listening in on lectures wouldn’t interest me that much unless it’s a task for interning as a teacher for the possible education career.

Finally! I’ve been waiting so long for this.
The sheer anticipation and anxiety I’ve experienced surrounding the University EP speculation has probably shaved 5-10 years off my life.
My sim just became a teen. Im hoping to hear soon if teens get anything new college prep activities with pack like scholarships or having to write a college application. I believe sims 3 did college prep. Dont remember.
Yes!! The sims 3 definitely had a test for teens to take for university.
And here I still am….just wanting a horse. Dropped my standards to the point that I don’t even need to ride it.

If you own cats and dogs there are several “horses” on the gallery. Also some come with custom content that makes them look even better.
Wow! Hopefully it lives up to the week built anticipation. Things I notice/ wonder:
– teaching career?! Yes!! (As a teacher myself, this is awesome!!)
– will there not be sororities/ fraternities like in the sims 3?
– I hope that there aren’t a lot of rabbit hole locations/ activites as seeing them in class and having those simple interactions was awesome in the sims 3.
– so there will be 2 universities within one world? Very interesting. I can assume that they will perhaps be rival universities with one representing a more private school feel catering to a particular experience while the other is perhaps a state school/less prestigious environment.
None the less, I’ve been waiting for this pack for YEARS and I’m definitely preordering and praying it lives up to the anticipation of it.

Cars will never come to TS4 because the roads you see in the game are nothing but decor. Half the neighbourhoods don’t even have accessible roads to begin with.

I really want a farm pack with horses and all that stuff!!
I want a House of Worship stuff pack that comes with a lot trait House of Worship, customizable lot that you can make look like your preferred faith, clergy garments that reflect the major world religions, Faith Leader aspiration and NPC ministers that show up at the lot.
Just a wee optional stuff pack.
I think that would be less likely to occur as a stuff pack or to come into the game as you have proposed. If they were to do that it would have to be patched in for free and would be more neutral so other simmers from religious groups can participate like how in seasons they did fasting which is something that several religious groups do/can do. The team doesn’t want to venture too much into the religious territory especially since some people are quite intolerant (being kind here) as evident by some people’s reactions to the Muslim inspired free patches (some people are also just plain intolerant and racist when you look at their reactions to the Caribbean and day of the dead free patches also). There are two mods out there that I’ve come across that are basically what you may want one as a church event (similar to the events ingame) and the other as a lot trait.

I want The sims 4 to have cars,helicopter and school bus like The Sims 2 that they can get inside to ride on it (like they can really open the door of the car) and having like a private school and impressing the principal also like the sims 2. those are the things i really really wanted to have on sims 4! I hope you can make it like the Stairs! so so LOVE IT! <3
