The Sims Team has released a brand new update for The Sims 4 on PC, Mac and Console!
To download the latest version of The Sims 4, simply open your Origin program and if the game doesn’t update automatically, right-click on The Sims 4 and select ”Update.” For console players, your game should update automatically however if it doesn’t simply go into the game options and you will be able to update from there.
For PC and Mac users – In case you have Mods or Custom Content, the game will automatically disable them for you after first launching The Sims 4 after the update. To re-enable all your Mods and Custom Content, select the Settings option in the menu and select Settings. Under the” Other” section you’ll find the ”Enable Custom Content and Mods” option. Check it and restart your game in order for it to take effect!

Sims 4
- Fixed an issue with cycling swatch options while using the Numpad + and – keys.
- Fixed an issue which caused Error 122:324a2e8e to occur.
- Fixed an issue which caused Error 134:b378c837 to occur.
- Hello Error 134, was it me you were looking for? I don’t wonder where you are (now) and I don’t wonder what you do (now), I hope you don’t get lonely…
- Fixed an issue in which when two Households were on Vacation (or one of them were), the messages for Vacation Ending were ambiguous or incorrect.
- Fixed an issue for Consoles in which the Main Menu became unresponsive when disconnected from The Gallery.
- Fixed an issue in which if Simmers were offline and they clicked on The Gallery tab or their Profile tab resulted in their contents in My Library would disappear.
- We turned it off and on again.
- Made some updates to some of the icons for Off-The-Grid related Moodlets.
- Fixed an issue in which some floor textures were disappearing if Stilts were put over terrain tiles. Kinda groovy but we had to fix that.
- Create a Sim asset yfBody_EF18SportStriped_SolidBlueTurquoise has been fixed to avoid clipping with all types of shoes. In the same vein, we fixed a clipping issue when top yfTop_EP03JacketTie_SolidBlueDkBlue is paired with bottom yfBottom_EP02SkirtAsym_Blue (for those who own Get Together and City Living).
Get Together
- Corrected Residential Lot status of “The Summer Home” Lot in Winderburg. Against all previous evidence, it is actually NOT an Incomplete Lot.
Discover University
- Fixed an issue in which the game froze when moving to dorms in University of Britechester when giving control to another Sim.
- The University of Britechester and The Foxbury Institute have now associated some of their Degrees with Freelancer Maker and Civil Designer careers! See you next term Simmers!
Eco Lifestyle
- Fixed an issue in which the Fabrication sound effect continued playing even after Fabricator had completed its task. Had the Fabricator become sentient… self aware?
- Sims will now actually receive their inheritance after Marrying within the 7 days as instructed. Marry for love or Simoleons? <insert Telenovela Music>

Tiny Living
- The ‘All Included!’ Lamp With Storage is no more, it has become the ‘Not All Included!’ Lamp Without Storage as our text writer was deceived and the Lamp does not allow a deco slot. Shenanigans!

Should have updated it where Sims don’t do boring chat and also decorated moodlets are all messed up. Can’t get Beautifully decorated moodlet. Far it can go is nicely decorated that’s it

How about the glitch with get famous? Kinda tired of not being able to go to gigs. Amd what’s with the fire toilet thing?
If you’re talking about the glitch where you couldn’t leave your house before a gig or it would stop the gig working that was fixed in a previous patch.

It is VERY surprising and concerning that there is not a single fix for the MAJOR Eco Lifestyle bugs like the fire pee, power consumption, NAP/zoning issues, infinite future cubes/clay, random townies like vampires and celebrities being mentors, junk yard salvage items being un-salvageable, endless “off the grid” notifications, “No Trespass” not working, etc. Those bugs are making the game unplayable, yet they have not been addressed.

Breaks way too often, too. Which is annoying when you invite the one Tinker lady over and she always goes to use your machine, breaks it and/or leaves something half-finished in it. The breaking is the annoyance. It seems at least every other time I try to use it, it breaks or malfunctions in some way. Made me stop using the machine.
Also the random future cubes and lumps of clay issue as well as Sims randomly going to make destressing concoctions at the grill?
My game completely broke after this update. Textures, sims – all of them are missing. Cannot start new save file. Surely, all mods are off. I wish I didn’t update >_<

Anyone else have invisible nannies? I hire nanny service: first time they come it’s normal, second time I get a notification that they are there but cannot see anyone. Sometimes food appears on the stove or counter without my sims having cooked, my sims sometimes talk to the nanny but I can’t see or interact with the nanny. Started happening after last update..
Mine too. I can’t even go into base game worlds, build a sim, or even build a house. Nothing is working and I have 3 of each packs and only shows things from those pacls when i go to build. Am I the only one?

Do you have any vet items like the machine that makes medicine or anything else a vet might use? My fogs were fine until I bought the machine thinking I’d make my own medication for fun. After that my dogs were constantly getting sick. I think the equipment triggers all near by animals to be sick.
I have that problem too but it was that way before the update and new expansion pack. Old bug

Oh yes, I gave my Sims in a tiny home the Murphy bed and the first time he put it down he died. I won’t use the Murphy bed, no use if they always kill my Sim
upgrade them before use then.
There is a mod for that. Search no more Murphy bed deaths sims 4

Yes can y’all fix the fire in the toilet when the Sims use it and also I’m having with my sims following commands especially with my toddlers I fear I might lose my twins. I keep getting the message take care of your toddler before they get taken away for you. I’m not ready to age them up yet.

My sims randomly whip out a violin or guitar and play. They do this constantly and they don’t even own either instrument. Anyone else?

My sims can’t accept any invitations to places or events, no matter what I click. It’s really killing the game for me.

My sims is refusing to go to work, all tho, I did manage to get one of them to get their butt to work, but other than that when I want them to go to work, they refuse and I end up having to get them to work from home, meaning I’ve to keep them separated from each other and the unemployed sims, busy

Every time I try to launch Sims 4 Origin pops up and says there is an update. I click update and it just shuts down. I have restarted my computer I have tried multiple things but it is refusing to download the update and just crashes.

I had this issue, I opened origin instead of trying to play the game and it worked after that.
Like Alison said I just opened origin itself and let it do it’s thing, then it worked fine
That may actually be a blessing in disguise, because after I updated MY game it totally ruined it. Can’t even create a sim or see my saved sims on their lots when I go to them.

No there is not. The game doesn’t even have that many accessible roads, let alone an open world. Why would we need cars?

This is all well and good but when is the doctor career getting a look over. I have to turn testing cheats on to debug every patient. I can’t even use the surgery equipment at the higher levels. I love the doctor career but can’t play it please fix these bugs!
How about fix it so that my Sim isn’t trying to make cake constantly or playing with the clay or asking the future cube questions all the time!
The time showing on the clock and the time in-game are never in sync! Anyone else have this problem?
I’m not sure if this is fixed yet, but the bug in get to work where all my sims get sick CONSTANTLY! It’s so annoying and tbh the patterns on the skin makes me really anxious and disturbed I have to look away to not throw up. Idk if this happens to other simmers and I’m not trying to be dramatic lol but it’s actually disgusting.

What about when you leave a household while Sims are at work or school when you come back to the game they’re all missing work/school? This has been an issue for me for the longest time and I really wish they would fix it because it ends up affecting my Sims performance at their jobs or their grades. Does anyone else have this issue?
Yep this has been an issue for a while now. Please go “Me Too!” this issue so it can garner more attention! For now, you can try not switching househoulds until everyone goes to sleep or early in the morning.

Hi there! If any Sims 4 devs read this, I got a question: Why does Sims ignore my order cancellations!???!? I cancel an action, Go to bed for example, the action gets crossed out, Sim does go to bed and then they just get up as if waken up or something, while the crossed action glitches and stays at the bottom of the action list. This is super annoying!

My pets keep disappearing. They vanish from the lot and their profile goes grey. Calling them back doesn’t work. I went into CAS and when I came back they were on the lot again but vanished within a couple minutes. Please fix! So many people are having this issue.

Please update the acting career glitch for Get Famous. It’s been broken for ages. My sim won’t to to their gigs when it comes time and there’s no option to send them. There should be a button in the career tab to tell them to go to work.
Please ! I’m begging you to redesign console controls ! It’s plain horrible,sims 3 console controls were beautifully done and I expected the same from sims 4 but it’s unplayable.Sims bustin out had better console controls,I’m an avid simmer and I hate I can’t play the new one.

Is there a process regarding the washing machines and drying machines? My simmers’ clothes never seem to dry anymore, or they do dry but my sims can’t put the finished laundry away. They can only put them down on the floor or in the laundry bin or in a machine (but the machines won’t start anyway because the laundry is clean and dry).
My plants are not evolving correctly now, nor am I getting credit for them

In discover university, my sims fail classes for what seems like no real reason – even if I submit perfect papers/presentations, do all hw, always go to class, and study.
since the recent update. my Sims 4 is not working properly at all. My sims from a previous save is no longer visible. I have cleared cache and deleted mods etc to no avail. Even if i go into create a sim mode, the sim can be heard but not seen.

This latest update has ruined my game. When I try to create a sim it won’t even allow me to click on them. The pointer changes to what looks like a plus sign and I can’t do anything. Then when I go to one of my lots, my sims are either invisible OR there are big bright fluorescent colored squares on my floors where the rugs would be that have question marks on them. At first I thought maybe it was my mods so I took them out and reloaded the game but it’s STILL doing the SAME things. So it isn’t my mods. Wtf happened and how soon will this issue be fixed?
I’ve been using sims for a roughly a week now and it updated on July 8th 2020 and now it won’t launch, the play button on Origin is unable to be clicked. Any reason why?
