You don’t even need to know which illness your Sim has because there is a cure-all for any type of illness. That’s right; miracle cures DO exist! In The Sims 4, anyway.
Read on to learn how to cure your Sims 4 sick Sims of any and all illnesses in an instant!
Please note that this article is about curing all illnesses that come with the Get to Work expansion pack. Other illnesses added with other packs, such as being poisoned or Rabid Rodent Fever must be cured in other ways.

How to Cure Sims 4 Sick Sims
You’ll know your Sim is sick if they have rashes on their bodies, start acting dizzy or nauseous for no reason, or burst into uncontrollable giggle fits at random. You can check their moodlets to see if they are experiencing any symptoms of illness.
There are quite a variety of illnesses Sims 4 sick Sims can be afflicted with. Is your Sim suffering from:
- Llama Flu?
- Triple Threat?
- Itchy Plumbob?
- Burning Belly?
- Starry Eyes?
- Bloaty Head?
- Sweaty Shivers?
- Gas and Giggles?
All of these illnesses manifest in different combinations of symptoms, making them difficult to diagnose. However, unless your Sim is a doctor working at the hospital, you don’t really need to worry at all about figuring out which illness your Sim has. Why? Because there is a single cure that will get rid of all of them! So don’t worry! All of these diseases can be cured in an instant. You don’t even need to visit the doctor! You can treat your Sim’s sickness at home.
Curing Illness with Medicine
The fastest way to cure Sims 4 sick Sims is by giving them medicine. However, it’s not the cheapest option. Medicine can be purchased on the computer. Click on a computer in the household and select Order > Purchase Medicine. If Seasons is installed, medicine can also be purchased through the Purchase Gifts option on the phone under the Shopping app.
There’s only one type of medicine available but this medicine has the power to treat all illnesses. You can order more as much medicine as you want or need.
After you’ve made your purchase, you’ll be able to find the medicine in your Sim’s inventory. Click on the Inventory icon, find the medicine and select Take Medicine.
The medicine will cure your Sim and give you a 4h Energy Emotion boost!
Depending on the severity of your Sim’s illness, they may need up to two doses of medication to fully get rid of their sickness. However, don’t overdose! Wait until you see symptoms of illness again before taking the second dose. If you use too much medicine or use it on a healthy Sim, it’ll give you a +1 Dazed Emotion boost that lasts for 3 hours.
Curing Illness with Tea or Orange Juice
You can also cure illness with tea or orange juice! This method of treatment is cheaper than buying medicine but it works slower. It doesn’t instantly remove sick moodlets; it just decreases the length of time your Sim has the moodlet.
You can brew a pot of tea with the Tea Magic Personal Brewer, found in the Small Appliances section of Build/Buy. Brew any type of tea you like; it doesn’t matter. All the different types of tea will help your Sim fight off any Get To Work illness.
To drink orange juice, just have your Sims grab a quick meal from the fridge and select Orange Juice.
Unlike medicine, you can drink as much tea and orange juice as you want to speed up your Sim’s recovery.
Curing Illness with Rest
If your Sims 4 sick Sims are too broke to afford medicine or a tea brewer, there’s always the good old fashioned way of kicking a pesky illness. They say rest is the best medicine for anything that ails you and it’s no different in The Sims! If your Sim is feeling under the weather, they can curl up for a nap or a good long rest.
Napping or sleeping while sick has the same effects as drinking tea or orange juice. It won’t instantaneously cure them but it will decrease the length of time that they are sick.

If you play the game long enough they’ll become sick on their own
Or you can just feed them some spoiled food and they’ll throw up on the floor after an hour and a half.
If your house is dirty and you wait long enough the will pick up a sickness
You can’t intentionally get a Sim sick. I they will randomly get an illness at any time. The first time one of my Sims got sick, was at their own wedding, which they also died at.

What do the stars in a circle above the head mean?
It means they are sick.
My sim is sick, getting spots on her skin, and getting a moodlet that says giggly from her illness but THERE IS NO option on the computer that says order and the tea isn’t working… WHAT DO I DO?!?!?
My sim family didn’t have a computer at the time so I took one to the library & tried to order there but there was no medicine option. I returned home & bought the cheapest computer & ‘Order’ was indeed there. I know this was probably no help, but maybe you could at least rule something out lol .. Sorry-I really hope you find your answer 🙂
you can also purchase drugs through sims’s phone (i believe i choose sim then clicked on her or her phone and choose to buy gifts, there was also a bottle of medicine)

Taking a nap also helps them to feel better often.

So my sim just took medicine and it says it cured him, but right after he took it he got stars above his head as he was thinking about the med.
I don’t know if its a bug, but in my game it doesn’t come up with the option to purchase medicine using any of my sims, my toddlers are sick and I cant fix it, it goes away then come back again. I have all expansions and all game packs except vampires, could that be the problem??? I am really stuck please help.

If you have the science table for kids, after a while experimenting on it you can start making health potions, which seem to be quite successful. If it doesn’t work with one take two. Also, I think they can only be made by children.

My sim, magic user who is pregnant, had a weird static noise and misty light around her- so I had her take medication and it said she wasn’t sick and her “liberal use now had side effects.” What is it and why??.
