Maxis releases a new hotfix update for The Sims 4 across PC and Consoles.
There’s a brand new Sims 4 Update available on Desktop PC, Mac computers and supported Console devices. With around 700MBs to download, you should expect minor hotfixes and feature improvements to the game. Also potentially preparing the game for The Sims 4 Nature’s Calling Live Event.

Installing the Latest Sims 4 Update
You can get the latest The Sims 4 Update on the following official launchers and platforms:
- PC: EA App, Origin, Steam, Epic Games
- Mac: Origin, Steam
- Playstation: PS4 and PS5
- Xbox: Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S
You can download the latest Sims 4 Update by checking for a Patch through the EA App, Steam or Epic Games launcher for Desktop. If you have Automatic Updates enabled the update will automatically download through your client program. In case your EA App is not working properly ensure you’ve cleared your app cache!
If you play The Sims 4 on Xbox Series X / S and Playstation 4 and 5 you can request a new update by checking for updates under The Sims 4 game in the Main Menu. If you’ve enabled automatic updates the Patch should download right away.

- [EA Forums] Resolved an issue where Sims models could become distorted when traveling shortly after aging up.
- [EA Forums] Sim Portraits are now properly updated with career outfit when Sims join a career.
Businesses & Hobbies
- [EA Forums] Small business employees no longer disappear after loading the lot from the Manage Worlds or Create a Sim screens.
Seasons
- [EA Forums] The New Year’s Resolution menu now correctly appears when making a resolution.
- [EA Forums] Scout’s Badge Progress UI no longer appears without text.
Discord Message from The Sims Team: Thank you for your patience while we investigated the Rain Indoors issue. We’re happy to share that we’ve identified a fix that would address this in the next update, and will confirm via the upcoming Laundry List.
The update is around 770MB on Mac computers.

Well I did the update and started my game. Not even 5 min later the screen goes black and the game crashes.
Crashed again for the second time.
Update failed, I couldn’t download it, and it disappeared
So when the heck are you going to fix all the bugs in ’for rent’? Leasing days doesn’t go down – no money in, fixing stuff breaking in the rentals always fails and effects property rating negatively.. I’m so frustrated with this pack!!
Not to mention the save game corruption caused by rentals!
They keep expecting us to buy all these packs, and there’s this whole fad about “forever worlds” but the game doesn’t even work! I *have* a forever world I’ve been playing for *ten years*, and I can’t risk opening it or it might be destroyed forever.
They dont “expect” you to buy all the packs. If that was the case the packs would be essential updates not optional add ons.
Did the patch, now I can’t connect to the gallery. Says I’m “offline” but it fails to reconnect, just tries to connect indefinitely until I stop it… yay…
I’m having a similar problem, but it does eventually connect. Until then, all my event rewards are missing. In addition, it resets all my global game settings (not save specific) every time I launch.
well, if i see the comments here i am happy i deinstalled sims 4 a few months ago ^^ i am playing inzoi. i know inzoi hasn’t, at this moment, no depths but i think if they going on with the good work it can be good ^^ and paralives coming also in december :3
Downloaded the new update and now my game stops working after a max of 15 minutes. Build mode just stops letting me place things
its still raining in my house..
Unable to pause and unpause and speed up and down since patch :(. Im on a MAC anyone else having this issue.
New patch has broken the game. As soon as I try to place anything in build mode, it freezes and crashes. Particularly stairs.
I haven’t been able to change my sims traits in CAS. It’s just blank so I have to randomize the traits and I never know what traits they’ll end up having. I’ve tried solving this with cheat codes but the list of traits still doesn’t show up. It’s ruined playing families for me
Sims won’t use the dishwasher after base game update they use the sinks and it’s getting really annoying. It’s also still snowing on the ground after travel even if it’s off in the options menu.
It’s wors than ever. I keep having to turn off the control legend, and switching my controls back to where I want them. It’s more lag than I have ever experienced. Still didn’t fix blurry tattoos.

Some users need to check their attitudes towards the creators. If it’s so awful then dont play the game. Arrogant people have no idea the effort that goes into creating digital media..amateurs

istg EA could release a literal “sims 4: take a dump” pack for $50 and ppl like you would buy it. keep brown-nosing harder, the billion dollar company might finally care about u lmao.
This has nothing to do with arrogance at all..if you buy a game it should work..just like other game companies..you pay for it every pack..what I read from you here is very arrogant and I am truly not a gamer who complains about every little thing but your attitude towards it is not correct….
anyone else having the issue of the screen freezing on the opening screen that says sims 4 I have mods and have updated the usual ones that need it when there is an update but it seems to be frozen still
