The team acknowledges a new issue for Sims 4 Console Players.
The new Sims 4 Update that was released on June 17th, 2025 seems to have caused a new issue where the game is crashing on console for some players. The issue was brought to attention by the official Sims Direct team just moments ago, with the official forum thread on the EA forums website giving new tips and workarounds for The Sims 4 Crashing on Console issue.

Official Statement for Sims 4 Crashing on Console
We’re aware of a crashing issue some console players are experiencing since the June 17 update. While we investigate the cause please manually save regularly, and stay tuned for updates as we monitor any potential impact to the Nature’s Calling Event.
The problem was highlighted on the official EA Forums, with explanations on where the crashing on console bug is most present for players. From very old save game files to complex games, EA_Solaire laid it all out in the following post:

Console Troubleshooting Guide and Known Issues (Patch 2.13)
These crashes are not reproducible crashes, they happen without warning and at different times during gameplay.
This issue is most common with:
- Original PlayStation/Xbox Consoles
- Very old save files
- Saves with lots of played households
- Lots of items in builds, including the use of lots of different packs in builds
- Lots of Sims in relationship panels of played Sims because of lack of game relationship culling
- The use of large lots (50×50, 64×64)
To help prevent crashing you can try:
- Placing fewer items on your lots
- Set your maximum Sim count to 80 (You can find this setting under Game Options-> Gameplay)
- Delete everything from Sim’s and household inventories for all played Sims
- Save often
Saving your played Sims and households/houses to the library and placing them down in a brand new save may help with the crashing – especially if you’re playing on a very old or large save file.

Have you experienced any of the issues explained above during your playtime sessions? We’ll make sure to keep you posted on the latest Sims 4 Crashing on Console issue as soon as we get more information.
This is not a new issue, happens every time I use the gallery to build a big lot and use all packs, if they want to encourage us to buy the packs the need to make the game stable enough to play them
Crazy work to want us to buy all the packs and then *checks notes* not use them.
What’s the point of buying expansion packs or even playing the game at all when it keeps crashing constantly? I’ve bought 5 expansion packs all together and now I wish I could be refunded 100%
exactly very disrespectful at this point the sims Urbz on the original xbox worked better than this
for rent and life and death were on sale for $20 instantly got excited but turned on the game after a month and this crash smh its not worth it anymore bring back the old sims team lol 2025 no way this game should be crashing like this
The crashing been going on for a while now. This is not new. I can’t even save my game anymore because every time I try to save my game still crashes also. This been going on for a while now.
I have almost all expansion packs and I can barely save. Every time I try to save it shuts down and I have tried every fix including factory reset! It’s ridiculous!
I play on the Xbox 1. I have all of the packs. I have been lucky not to really have real issues, besides slow load time but after this update I can no longer get into my game.
The game has been very buggy for me on PS5 after update. Usually when starting the game you press X on the splash screen and then you wait a couple of seconds for the loading bar then you are on the main menu screen. This time, it sometimes gets stuck on the loading bar screen and even though the bar is full nothing happens. So I close the app/game and try again but this time it loads properly. After this I also get a “not connected” pop up and none of the ads show up (which sometimes happens but there was never a pop up and going to the gallery and reconnecting usually works). Tried reconnecting through the gallery but it was already connected and working, so went to gameplay in settings and reconnected Sims Delivery and that seemingly worked. There are many more bugs that I am going to have to document for a report. None are game breaking and experienced no crashes.
