Wouldn’t be a big Sims 4 Update release without something breaking, right?
Yesterday The Sims Team surprised us all with a new Game Patch for The Sims 4. Which introduced brand new Glass Walls, Collections UI Revamp, Plants on Roofs and other hidden features like new Skin Effects and Gardening additions. However, new Sims 4 issues and glitches have also been spotted.
Food plates and leftovers can no longer be dragged to the trash bins. The whiteboards from Businesses & Hobbies can’t be placed, and pregnancy tests are obselete. Let’s see what are the main concerns and top reported issues by the community since the July 1st, 2025 Patch:

Hobby Whiteboard is Vanished and can’t be placed
The issue was first brought to attention by Shibuya_2508 on EA Forums. Who reports that the Whiteboard object from Sims 4 Businesses and Hobbies Expansion vanished from their lot and cannot be re-placed again.
Forum user simlindsims has further playtested this Sims 4 issue and discovered the following:

- They were automatically deleted from my original save
- I have tried on both residential and business lots.
- My game currently has no mods
- I have tried to do this in both an existing save file and a new, vanilla file
- I have repaired my game
The issue has currently been upvoted by more than 100 players on the EA forum thread, with the glitch happening across Desktop and Console platforms.
Drag to Trash and Sink is no longer working
No shortcuts to clean dishes. At least for a while. The latest patch has brought a peculiar issue where players can’t drag food plates, leftovers, trash and even baby diapers to the Trash Bin / Sink. The only way to clean up after yourself, at least for now, is by instructing your Sim to do it.
Over 350 players have upvoted this issue on the first EA forum report thread, with the issue being present for all platforms and vanilla / modded games.
And if you were wondering if this Sims 4 Issue persists with all Trash Bins – it does.
Both the Businesses & Hobbies Whiteboard Object and Drag to Trash issues have already been marked as under investigation by EA.
No Pregnancy Test to Take
Your Sims might’ve successfully tried for a baby. But after the latest Game Patch there’s just no way of finding out until the first trimester. The new Sims 4 issue was first spotted by tx_boxy, with currently 10 upvotes on the thread.
So My sim is ready for a baby. But after they tried… when I wanted to see if she actually got pregnant or not. No options for any tests. I don’t use any mods or cc…

I have the same problem since yesterday, and I suspect pregnancies get reset (so the Sim is no longer pregnant) if I switch households and the pregnancy hasn’t yet been confirmed ‘naturally’. It’s very frustratring, since I’m finally successfully try rotational play and both Sims aren’t pregnant yet because I switch before 24 hrs have passed. Hope it’ll get fixed soon!

I’m also having the same problem with two different sims. They each tried for baby with their partners twice and both times when I clicked on the toilet there was no option to take a pregnancy test.

In fact, this bug with the inability to move trash to the bin or food to the fridges..
It’s not that bad, I would say realistically and gives the vibe of older parts of The Sims 😉
i kind of have the same thought ahaha. the sims have to clean up their trash themselves instead of a hand from the sky doing it for them.
i also have the “smarter self-care” mod by chingyu, so my sims autonomously clean up after themselves instead of me having to waste time instructing them to do it and the plates piling up. very useful.
actually, wait, i think i might be getting mods mixed up as i can’t find anything about cleaning in that mod’s description. maybe it’s a feature that you can turn on in MCCC? i can’t remember, i just know one of my mods does it for me
It does! Which I love. So, really there is no complaints coming from me.
I was expecting a whole lot more to be broken really. Hopefully save corruption with For Rent will be next up since they fixed weather indoors.
Check on your Sims with custom tattoos. Mine are completely blacked out now after the update.
My game has done this with a horse and two dogs downloaded from the gallery
I’ve just checked and this is an open bug report on the forum along with the pets. Please report if you’re having similar issues. They’ve both got quite a few up votes so far.
Mines have been doing this and here I am thinking its CC, and no its EA nessing up our games. I had just lost a legacy play and was just getting into the new one. and every last one of my sims have disappeared. every last one. I want my damn money back!!!
Honestly the inability to drag objects to the trash should be a feature. No more cheating and make it actually take effort from a sim to clean
You dictate what the game should be by changing the rules, respect the way the players play, it’s an ease that I appreciate and which saves me time because the sims 4 are really very slow to do everything, thank you.
Sounds great, doesn’t it? …Until that other glitch strikes, the one where your sims only stack plates and cannot wash them whatsoever, and the only option you have is to drag and delete them yourself.
I only ever direct my sims to wash their dishes, and when combined with dishwashers + the neat trait + the speed cleaner reward trait, it actually takes no time. But when these bugs crop up, having a backup option is crucial.
Either they make the game 100% bug-free (not possible) or we accept dragging is a feature. Breaking it is a problem.
throwing out dishes is “cheating” in a 1 player sim where you can fuck aliens and do magic? grow tf up and let folks play however they want
For those who are happy, good, but I have other things to do than clean. I’ll add more dishwashers in the meantime. You can also drag most dishes, plates, glasses, cups to the dishwasher. Sims already take a long time to eat or do anything else, I’m not going to waste time with that. OK, Sims 2, they did the cleaning, the dishes, etc., but the animations were much faster, so it took less time for everything.
I say it again, good for you, but this bug will be corrected at some point anyway, and it is not an obligation for you to drag the dishes to the trash, everyone has their own way of playing.
In all my years of playing I’ve never realized that you can drag dishes into the dishwasher!
i know how you feel, i played The Sims 4 since March/April 2020 but it’s only like last year or so i found out you can actually drag them in places like the sink or trash can (to name something)
This bug is reminding me that you can in fact hire cleaners haha
Is anyone else having issues with CAS? I went to create a new sim for a challenge, and there are a ton of bugs, including not being able to select hats and white bars over tops. Additionally, my sliders are blocked out and theres a weird overlay on my button to apply items to all categories
Sounds like a Mod issue. Do you use Mods like Ui Cheats Extension, More Columns in CAS, etc.?
Ever since the new update!! Everytime I go into build mode and I try to place anything down, it disappears and sends me back to selecting on a items. It’s like once I select a furniture item of some sort and to placebitbon the ground it clicks and disappears and goes back to selecting on the item. Like the mouse is haunted
Do you use Mods like TOOL or Better BuildBuy?
I’ve had this issue about a year now. It feels like it only happens when I turn on cheats, and once it strikes, I have to fully shut down sims and reload to fix it. It could be mods, but I don’t use any build/buy mods so I’m not sure.
I don’t even want to play it anymore is how disturbed I am they just keep breaking things.
Also the save corruption has still not been fixed
They claimed a long time ago the bug where after you have a baby at the hospital and later constantly changing into hospital gown was fixed but I still have the issue. So makes no sense. And pointless to report it.
I thought it was outdated mods…nope, it’s the patch! Having the same issues here.
I think there may actually be a delay in the pregnancy test being available. I used another mod to determine that my Sim was going to have a “true” result so I used my MCCC mod to start her pregnancy with her husband, it showed that she was having a girl.
A few Sim hours later…the test became available on the toilet so I did the test, came up positive…go into MCCC and find she’s having a boy instead. LOL
Bottom line–wait maybe 8 Sim hours or so (didn’t really keep track). IRL a woman shows no signs right away. So in a way it’s realistic.
Everyone who is expereincing the pitch black sims with custom tattoos, please make sure to let EA know that it’s a issue. Apparently it started popping up 4 months ago, but it’s started for a lot of people after the new update. It’s not mods related, even people on consoles have the issue.

The dragging dishes to the sink/dishwasher/trash has been happening for a while now. It’s nothing new. I play with no Mods or CC.
Another draggable thing broken- I can’t seem to add elements to the elemental display.
Yeah i can’t drag medals from the military career into the display either

I’m wondering if anyone knows how long it will take/usually takes before things like this get patched? My sim is pregnant and i use the child birth mod, which doesnt show the option to call obstetrician anymore :(. I think its a result of these bugs
I am having the same issue with the childbirth mod and my sims doesn’t even look pregnant which is so annoying.
literally started a new save but now im at the point were they are pregnant again lmaoo. I thought maybe there’d be a patch in the meantime 🙁

Does anyone know if there are collections that have been broken? I’ve been sim practically inside the observatory for 3 days now and I can’t get a single image of the space.
Can’t advance the career as chef. Stuck in chef 6. Never get promotions no matter what I try. Cheats also don’t work.
