During the April 2019 Maxis Monthly Livestream The Sims Team has announced that they’ll be giving Console Players a special treat!
That’s right – The Sims 4 for Xbox One and PS4 is finally getting Keyboard + Mouse support starting next week! More precisely with the upcoming Console update that’s being released on April 16th, 2019 for both consoles.
SimGuruLegacy has also issued a few tweets to talk about the new option coming to console players:

Small note for the update next week. Initially, you will still need your controller for the “Press A/X to Start” screen. Once you have passed that screen you can go full mouse & keyboard.

Mouse & Keyboard support on PS4 and Xbox One also re-enables some features not available on controllers.The Sims 3 camera is one of those features that will enable when using mouse and keyboard.That feature is not possible with a controller due to the complexity of the controls.

One thing we don't do in the console version with mouse and keyboard is control the mouse sensitivity. You can adjust that to your liking on your console and you can see the settings at…

PlayStation 4 – Settings > Devices> Mouse
Xbox One – Settings > Kinect & devices > MouseYou can also switch the mouse to be left-handed in the same location.

We also allow you to disable edge scrolling if you prefer not to use it but it is ON by default in Options > Game Options > Game Camera.

Kinda mad about this. I play on console for a reason? I don’t want to relearn how to build w a keyboard. (I know it’s optional, but that’s what I’d have to do in order to get anything out of it.) I feel like console ALWAYS gets the short end of the stick.

Then keep the rest of your nonsense to yourself. You don’t have to use keyboard and mouse, why are you mad about this and how the hell are you making this update sound like a bad thing?

We NEED gallery. I love sims 4 but this is getting ridiculous. We have had gallerys in the past. I get it being hard having CC and mods. Just give us a gallery and then sort all of that out. Or dont! Ill be fine with a delay in EP GP SP. Console Simmers atleast need a gallery between us. PLEASE!
It’s the 16th of April 2019 I play the sims 4 on PS4 and when I heard about the update I have been buzzing I live in the uk and for some reason my game hasn’t been updated I checked for updates and it said no update needed. i plugged my keyboard and mouse into the right usb plug in. I am very confused and disappointed I would like an answer to why this has happened to me so can someone tell me !!!
