The Sims Team has released a brand new Update for The Sims 4 on PC and Mac!
To download the latest version of The Sims 4, simply open your Origin program and if the game doesn’t update automatically, right click on The Sims 4 and select ”Update”.
In case you have Mods or Custom Content, the game will automatically disable them for you after first launching The Sims 4 after the update. To re-enable all your Mods and Custom Content, select the Settings option in the Menu and select Settings. Under the”Other” section you’ll find the ”Enable Custom Content and Mods” option. Check it and restart your game in order for it to take effect!

Twenty years ago, The Sims was released on the 4th of February 2000. As a simulation game, it confused “traditional” gamers because it had no defined end goals and there was no way to “win.” Non-players even described it as “that game where you have to tell your character to use the bathroom.” Even now, two decades later, some people have yet to abandon this mindset, but many of you have been with us from the beginning or joined in the years between, and you understand why The Sims is so much more than just playing house.
Thank you for being here with us through this journey. We have been working on bringing new experiences to our players, such as cross-platform Gallery for our console, PC, and Mac players. And as we continue through our twentieth year, we hope to deliver new excitement to the world of The Sims.
To start the celebrations, we added the Birthday Hot Tub, which you can find in Build Buy as soon as you update your game. Yes, it is for everyone!
We also added new music—we hope you enjoy it!

- We fixed some crashes occurring in Build Mode that were afflicting some of our players.
Island Living
- Fixed an issue in which Simoleons were not being granted after selling Research Data.
- Sims with Child of the Island Trait can now Summon Island Elements, Ask for Judgement, and receive Judgement properly.
- I mean, maybe it was a good thing that you were not being judged, but hey, you do you.

No word about a fix for the ugly black roof trims… I has a sad.
I have been experiencing a problem with the actor career in The Sims 4. When I recieve the tasks that I should do before the actual work, I do them normally before the filming day and they have the gold tick meaning that I have completed them. However, when Its time for the work and I arrive at the studio, the tasks appear as uncompleted even though I have done them before. I think this is a bug and I am reporting it to see if I can reach anyone. Thank You.

I’ve managed to get my actor career to max, but I have yet to be able to complete my actress’s aspiration :(.
I am having the same issue. If I travel before work after doing the tasks I have to re-do them. It’s very annoying.

After this update I have suddenly lost three worlds (Willow Creek, Oasis Springs and Newcrest are gone ) and CAS is impossible. I cannot modify Sims’ facial features. Sims look very odd in texture. What is going on?!
You have to open Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4 and delete localthumbnailcache.package file in there. Start the game again and it will be fixed (assuming there isn’t any conflicting mods)
Privatepractice script file is broken. All of Sacrificial and some Peacemaker files are also known as broken, I’m still sifting, it is now my 8th hour of finding broken cc. Thanks for the 20th anniversary gift EA!
Origin automatically updated my game. It now keeps crashing and closing by itself upon start up. Not sure what to do. Signed out of Origin twice and restarted my laptop twice.
if you have CC that will be where to start. I had this issue and had to go through all my cc section by section and starting my game up until i could find the cc that had the issue. If you dont have cc try repairing your game by going to the game library and right clicking the sims. if this doesnt work then unfortunately i dont know you may have to do more research.

Awesome. Please fix the idle sims bug where sims seems to glitch and become idle no matter how many times you have manually reset them. They just freeze and just stand there despite having actions in their queue.
Also, I sincerely hope something awesome comes from the sims 4 fan survey about new content.
Since this update CC skin tones do not show up for spellcasters, and they definitely worked before this patch so it’s not an issue of the modder not making them available for spellcasters. Does anyone know if there’s a sims 4 studio work around for this or if I have to wait for the next patch? CC eye colors and skin DETAILS still show up, just not the skin tones. All I want is a pale spellcaster elf!

I purchased Sims4 for my grand daughter to load on there home computer. It just keeps recycling to load an update. It never gets to origin. What needs to be done to get it to load so the $40 game can be played?
