Ever since the latest update for The Sims 4 many players have started reporting frequent crashes when playing the game. Sometimes the crashes would occur every 30 minutes or so, not really depending on what they were doing in the game. The issue has mostly been reported by players who play The Sims 4 on PC and PS4. For PC it’s the usual “Application has stopped working” message while for PS4 it’s the “An error occured…(CE-34878-0)” message.
SimGuruNick, a Quality Designer working on The Sims 4 has acknowledged the issue and stated that their team is currently investigating the cause of these crashes. Although it’s not known when a hot fix will come out to fix the crashing issue, you can help out speed up the process by sharing your own experiences and save files so that The Sims Team can investigate.
You can share your own experiences / save file information in the following EA Answers threads. Before reporting make sure that what you’re experiencing is not the cause of outdated Custom Content / Mods!

Hiya all since i did the update my game keeps crashing as well as start stop start stop i even went as far as checking everything was ok on my pc now for sure its the game ill have to wait for a new fix (hopefully soon) have a great day everyone x
well i hope they fix this soon because the pack is out tomorrow and i wanna play it asap
So far, I haven’t had any crashes. Though, I haven’t really been in Live Mode much since I’ve mostly just been decorating houses and making a few new families in CAS. I hope they fix the issue soon, though, because I want to play the new EP when it releases.
I can’t age my sims up either
Mac has the same exact problem… don’t forget us mac people! Why you forget us? We… last up to 30 seconds before crashing!
But seriously, this is happening to Mac players, too.
Since the update I wasn’t able to go down staires in my house it kept saying there was something in the way (there wasn’t) also I crash every 10 minutes without fail! How can you expect people to keep paying fo. Packs and stuff when this constantly happens?? Especially with a pack due to be out soon!?
This was happening with my sim too, she was stuck in the bathroom. Now she won’t clean up or throw away garbage, keeps saying there is no sink/dishwasher/garbage can.
I can not even start my game. I click play. Several moments go by.
Game crashes. I don’t even get a start up screen.
I see I’m not the only one. But dang when can we get a fix?

The fact its happening on all platforms rules out mods/cc.
I can’t even play at all. Crashes within 2 mins
Club outfits have also been broken since the patch along with these random crashes…
So my PS4 Sims game kept crashing also after the latest update a few days ago. It crashed 6 times in a matter of 2 hours this morning.. so what I started doing was saving it every 3-4 minutes. VERY annoying, yes, but it seemed to do the trick. I was able to play a couple of hours longer and didn’t crash once. I noticed that my PS4 starts making a loud noise like it’s struggling and then it would crash. So that’s when I started saving it. Temporary fix and annoying but it worked!
I also noticed the noise! It freaks me out like my ps4 is about to die.
Yea I play PS4, I noticed that there are new updates and I wonder if that’s one of the cuases as well, I save so much it is annoying, it won’t crash during CAS or building but it does crash while doing stuff, I also even lost my audio sometimes.
My people are twisted and distorted in Create a Sims. (anyone having that problem?)
Well, I’m on Xbox. My game crashes constantly. I also have been building with and enjoying the new platform tool , but my builds do not appear in my library after I’ve saved them. I shared one lot on the gallery and it doesn’t show up there either. Don’t know what is going on. I have basically cleared my library, thinking I had too much saved. No change at all.
