A Midsummer Lookbook’s Dream: 4 Styles inspired by The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature

Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature Lookbook fI

“Therefore, another prologue must tell he is not a lion.”

Like many, I’ve been quite enjoying my time with The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature. The expansion’s mix of whimsy and charm has me as delighted as I am excited with the much-needed reintroduction of Fairies back into our available occult rolodex. While this in itself is obviously a great addition to The Sims 4’s gameplay loop, I was also charmed as ever to see the reintroduction of yet another classic The Sims 2 family—the Summerdreams.

weeee

Based on the iconic play ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ by William Shakespeare, this High Fae family has been a consistently whimsical staple of the franchise. Appearing as “fairies” in The Sims 2 long before the actual addition of Fairies as an Occult life state in The Sims 3. The Summerdreams are adjacent to the core drama of the very much Shakespearian Veronaville neighborhood. With their young son, Puck, having a crush on Hermia Capp. Younger sister of Juliette Capp, who, along with her beau Romeo Monty, sit at the core of the ‘hoods terse feud. I don’t think I have to tell you what this storyline is inspired by, do I?

In their initial iteration, the Summerdreams played as normal Sims but, “in the fiction” of the game’s lore, they were fairies of the High Fae court. With The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature, this historically fairy family is once again playable, and rightfully in their full Fairy glory. While, of course, they were also playable in The Sims 3 Supernatural, but their status as homeless Townies didn’t rightfully play onto their significance, nor their noble origins. Fairies of the High Court should be befitted an estate most noble. Especially Fairies as storied and steeped in history as that of the Summerdreams.

The general approach of this lookbook is two-fold; re-imagining the family as they were at their debut, but with a modern twist inspired by their historical roots. Because I believe if you decide that two Sims are royalty? They need to look it! Also, I am a massive literary nerd, so this is right up my alley.

This lookbook will be CC-free and composed with a small number of packs so that you can recreate them in your own game. I hope you’re able to find inspiration with these Sims-spearian looks for your next foray with Fairies!

“Ill met by moonlight, proud Titania.”

1

A Fae Queen of the High Court is many things—vain, obstinate, powerful—but most of all? She’s fashionable. In her long, soft green shimmering gown with a throat adorned with jewels this queen most certainly rules. Was that a rhyme? Well, this article is Shakespeare themed.

“What, jealous Oberon!”

2

The historical Fae King Oberon is known for his quick-temper and somber demeaner. Oberon, the Sim Fairy, however? Not so much. But we can certainly bring some drama and intrigue into his life with this dark, mysterious attire. Everyone loves a Sim in black (or dark blue!) so he’ll definitely be the talk of the court by his softer, pastel-aligned wife’s side.

  • Hair: Wild Dreads (Life and Death)

  • Bottoms: Feathered Pants (Enchanted by Nature)

“Gentle Puck, come hither.”

3

Puck? Well…he’s Puck. Mischievous, dry, and not one to abide something so banal as a “dress code” when it comes to attending the Fae Court. No, your man, Puck? He’s a jeans sort of guy. Tastefully rolled so that his hooves have room to move, of course. The one rule he follows is wearing a shirt…but only barely, as you can see.

  • Hair: Braided Side-Shaved (Businesses and Hobbies)
  • Tops: Tossed Top (Enchanted by Nature)
  • Bottoms: Cuffed Jeans (Businesses and Hobbies)
  • Shoes: Satyr’s Hooves (Enchanted by Nature)
  • Makeup: Lips (Essential Glam Kit) / Eyeliner, Full Face (Enchanted by Nature)
  • Accessories: Horns (Enchanted by Nature) / Layered Necklace (Businesses and Hobbies)

“Bless thee, Bottom! Bless thee!”

4

Bottom is most definitely not at the bottom of this list because her look. No, Bottom is at the bottom because if you were to see her streetwear inspired Fae glam at the top? Well, then you’d possibly get distracted from Titania’s quiet elegance. Not giving the High Queen her due is, well, quite dangerous. So we made sure you appreciate Bottom’s righteous kicks and flowing skirt after you’ve appropriately approached the Queen and did the good and proper 12 step greeting…which you totally did, right? Right?
