A new feedback session for existing Sims 4 features has been opened by the EA Community Manager!
It’s time for another EA Feedback session, this time all about The Sims 4 autonomy & sim behavior. Just two weeks ago we’ve had an open discussion feedback started by EA on The Sims 4 Infants and Toddlers, and today there’s a brand new one directed more towards general adult Sim behavior!
EA Community Manager “Mindy” shared a new discussion over on the official Sims Discord and Reddit to gather feedback on out of place autonomous behaviors and preferred animations.

Hi! I’m back to gather more feedback from you all, this time to inform future updates and improvements to Sim behavior and autonomy.
Before you jump in, check out the Laundry List to see what’s already on the roadmap to be fixed and no need to share anything about infant/toddler autonomy suggestions, as we got so much great input on that last time!
Here’s what we’d love to hear from you:
- What Sim or game behavior pulls you out of the experience, storytelling, or roleplaying the most?
- What Sim behavior is the most frustrating to you?
- What tasks do you want your Sims to complete that they fail at most often (because of bugs or autonomy)?
- Is there any silly or wacky autonomy behavior that doesn’t make sense, but you’d hate to see fixed because you enjoy it? (We want to make sure we aren’t removing quirks the community loves.)
- Is there an interaction that isn’t currently autonomous that you’d like to see become autonomous? If so, in what situations would you want it to happen?
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

You can send your feedback to The Sims Team through the linked Reddit and Discord discussions above. For The Sims Discord Discussion you can find the dedicated feedback channel in #feedback-forum > Autonomy & Sim Behavior discussion.
Changes to Sim autonomy are already taking place with the next Sims 4 Update set for March 17th. Including resolution of excessive flirting, sims socializing with strangers and using certain objects obsessively. Keep in mind these notes when sending your feedback to The Sims Team!
“Sim autonomy” is one of our key focus areas based on community feedback, and this update delivers on 3 of our top autonomy issues : Sims socializing with strangers, excessive flirting, and Sims using certain objects obsessively.
[EA Forums] We’ve implemented a notable change to how Sims determine who they speak with on a lot. Now, Sims will generally prefer speaking with familiar Sims they already have a good rapport with, and Sims are less likely to engage with strangers spontaneously.
[EA Forums] We’ve addressed the issue where Sims were excessively flirting with each other.
[EA Forums] We’ve heard your feedback and wanted to address Sims using Computers and Phones too often. We’ve added a few new preferences to the Base Game including: Likes Phones, Likes Computers, Dislikes Phones, and Dislikes Computers. If you don’t want your Sims to autonomously use these objects, please give them the “Dislikes Phones” or “Dislikes Computers” Preferences. If you want them to be obsessed… you know what to do.
[EA Forums] If a Sim autonomously uses the Computer, they will receive a cooldown on wanting to do this autonomously again for half of a Sim day. This cooldown does not exist for non-active Household Sims, for Sims who are Geeks, Sims who Like Computers, or when it is a preferred interaction for Getaways, Clubs, Small Businesses, or Dynasties. Sims who Dislike Computers (a new Preference we added) will never use them autonomously anymore.
What do you plan to send to The Sims Team for General Autonomy & Sim Behavior improvements for The Sims 4? Let us know in the comments down below and stay tuned for the latest Sims 4 News and feedback sessions!
