Maxis announces a new The Sims 4 Patch drop for this week!
The Sims Team has announced through their official Discord channels that there is going to be a new Sims 4 Hotfix Update. Set to release for this Thursday – February 19th, 2026! Here’s what you can expect from the latest hotfix patch:
The Sims 4 Hotfix Update Announcement
The Sims Community Manager EA_Cade shared a new message, revealing a new Sims 4 Hotfix Update for this Thursday. In this update you should expect fixes for issues with Sims freezing during marriage, as well as “additional Family Tree fixes”.
Sul Sul, Simmers, We’ll have a small Base Game update available this Thursday, February 19th containing fixes for issues with Sims freezing when getting married as well as additional Family Tree fixes.
What’s up with Family Trees?
A lot, in fact! Players who have never used CC / Mods have started reporting several issues with The Sims 4 Family Trees ever since the recent Sims 4 Updates hit the game this February. With reports on wrong connections, a family tree layout that’s way too stretched out and overlapping relations and interface that just makes no sense.
EA Forums member ToutouXL reported five different examples of how Family Trees have broken down in their game:
The new family tree is not working at all! Now I can’t understand nor use this family tree function! PS I didn’t use any mod nor cc!
The biggest problems lie in the overlap of the family members, I can’t see clear connection of any family. Besides, some of sims are married with kids in the family tree which are obvious image expression error! Not to mention that I am not able to tell who are the kids or siblings of one family. I show some pictures below, can you tell me HOW CAN I UNDERSTAND?
Example 1, the sim marries with a kid in family tree( actually not)! Plus a mess and serious overlap.
Example 2, unable to recognize one family.
Example 3, what does this white stripe mean? I can’t even tell the latest generation relationships.
Example 4, I pressed the little kid in the end of family tree, next thing I see is without this kid and all the people irrelevant to neither mother nor kid.
If the bugs is too time-consuming to fix, can you just return to the old logic and design which functions super well?! Thanks.
The upcoming Sims 4 Hotfix Update is expected to fix only two game issues, so you shouldn’t expect your recently-updated Sims 4 Mods and CC to break again with the upcoming Update release. We’ll keep you posted if that’s not the case though!

Yikes that is a lot of lines and it does make it look confusing. I do wonder if the player has neighbourhood stories switched on and that is why there is so many Sims they don’t recognise as the game is having Sims get married and have babies in the background.

will this fix the legacy family trees that are now broken. the other day i was excited to check out my legacy family with the new update, but instead it only showed part of the family.

Can you fix the issues I’m having after the last 2 updates? My game keep feeling at a specific time of the game and I can’t do nothing after that. Sims 4
This is a known issue. However this is not an official EA site. Please go to the official EA forums. The forum post is called “fast forwarding freezes the game” however if you have MCCC then that it is a separate issue. Both are being looked into please go and upvote those forum posts and share your save if you can. It does help!

Hopefully they fix new pack not appearing in game because it acts like royalty and legacy never existed.
I just updated all my mods and now another patch. Even if it has little chance of breaking mods, it is still a patch and EA loves to sneak in changes that are not mentioned in the patch notes.
Everytime I try to visit a different world sometimes while in the same world at time along with saving or planning outfits etc….the game randomly crashes over and over snd over and over again. I HAVE NO MODS/ just an external storage to play with expansion packs PLEASE PLEASE HELP

I just want to find out where can I get refund for my wedding stories as the product (pack) doesn’t work even after multiple attempts I couldn’t get my Sims married.
I’m not sure you can get a refund, when you purchase a pack it tells you it is exempt from refunds. Are you playing with mods in your game? I’m playing vanilla and did a whole wedding from that pack the other day and everything went well for me.
Yeah unfortunately you’re not likely going to get a refund. You can play a BG wedding or maybe try turning your autonomy off. If your are on PC or Mac there are mods that make it more bearable.

Never used Mods, but don’t find any problems in family trees. I even checked complex trees after last update. Only confusing thing: A single Sim let moved in a NPC as teenager. They still living together and in Profiles it looks like they’re Mother and Daughter. But they’re not in the same tree and could flirt with each other. I wish they had add the option to adopt any younger Sim in Basegame-Update.

I wonder if they’ll fix this bug where after purchasing the expansion… the EA App doesn’t see it and you can still buy it… what’s more, the expansion itself is in the game, but the bonuses from the Grand Bundle are gone… and I can still buy them… although the promise was clear… and it’s not March 15th yet!!!

You need to report your issue to the official bug forums, this is just a community fan website not the actual Sims. 🙂
If you have mccc, that’s a bug with the marriages. You need to turn off auto marriages and npc marriages. You can see more on the mccc site.

It’s appearing in my game. Try doing a game repair in the EA App.

Now if they jut fix the massive freeze if bug so I can actually play with Legacy family :/
