The Sims Team is looking for feedback on how they can improve these two Life Stages!
As announced in the latest Quality of Life Roadmap for 2026, The Sims Team is looking to add Sims 4 Infant and Toddler improvements through various set gameplay systems and mechanics. If you’ve been wanting to change anything in regards to Infant and Toddler autonomy, interactions and/or needs, now’s the time to let the team know!
There are four different segments of feedback you can give to the team through the official EA Sims discord. Here’s the official information you need to know:

The Sims 4 Infant and Toddler Improvements: Official Feedback Info
We announced Infant updates in our latest Quality of Life Roadmap, and now our devs need your help prioritizing and address improvements. Please keep feedback specific and constructive (specific examples help!).
- Most frustrating Infant/Toddler autonomy behavior? What happens + what you’d prefer instead.
- Any non-autonomy issues hurting fun? Interactions, pacing, tuning, UI, etc.
- Thoughts on Infant Need Balance (not bug related)? • Say which Need (Hunger, Energy, etc.) • Share what you like and/or dislike
- If you could change one small thing, what would it be?
Thanks for helping us make improvements that matter.

You can send in your feedback only if you have a Discord account and have joined the EA Discord group linked above. The forum thread is linked in the #feedback-forum > Infant & Toddler Feedback Forum

The Sims 4 Infant and Toddler Improvements should be delivered some time between March and August 2026. Along with updates to Sim Autonomy and fixes for Crashes and data loss.
March through August
We’re going to be investigating improvements on these areas:
- Sim autonomy: such as Sims choosing inappropriate locations for certain actions, being obsessed with certain objects, or NPC interrupting conversations and other behaviors. Additionally, a large focus on improving Sim sleeping behavior and eyelid animations.
- Infant improvements: improving infant and caregiver autonomy, plus ensuring infants receive the correct milestones, interactions, and buffs.
- Crashes and data loss: including fixes for black photo issues and the game freezing or crashing.

I just want them to get their milestones without having to turn aging off for 6000 sim years
The tummy time is ANNOYING! They pick the infant up and put them down like 5 or more times before they find a spot to do tummy time. Also, to shorten the time for the toddler to go to the bathroom while potty training.
I find it easier to first make them put the infant down in a spot and then click do tummy time. They 95% of the time do it in that spot.
Maybe checking the EA forums will help? Anyway, here are the issues I can think of right now.
1. Sims will put down the infant for tummy time, then pick up, put down again and then more often than not they will wave in the air that there is no room.
2. Sims put infant on the floor right after putting them to sleep in the crib.
3. Infants that can scoot or crawl cant crawl or scoot on and off the playmat
4. Infants won’t eat finger food that is already on the high chair
5. Infants can’t play with a toy that is in their inventory. You must place it on the ground first.
6. When there is a playmat available, sims like to autonomously put the infant on the playmat. This may cancel other interactions in the queue, if these can’t be done on the playmat.
7. Infants stretch after learning certain milestones
8. Sims can’t paint with an infant in the back carrier
9. Milestone notifications appear twice or more
I feel like they lowkey just left the forums to rot. I get that Discord attracts more people, but ever since the move to the newer, smaller and crappier forums, the devs almost never visit and they stopped creating opinion threads.
On the contrary, the forums is the only place they will officially take feedback from.
If it is, it doesn’t feel like it. Discord gets the Q&As for packs, Discord gets the surveys. I only see Gurus in the bug report forum, or moderating a thread in general. I never see them in the feedback forum, unless it’s to lock threads when someone necroposts.
Ther have community managers that go to the forums and collect feedbackthat gets to the devs
I do so wish I could do more with infants while having them in the backcarrier. As it is putting the infant in the carrier lasts for 5 seconds before my sim takes them out and puts them on the floor before doing something like talking in front of a mirror. Similar problem while simply carrying the child, multitasking is simply not possible when it would make sense.
I want pacifiers
Yesss pacifiers would be great and bibs
Ther wher clues that ther have prepeared the gane for that so mayby ther decided to push this to this year alongside these improvements
You can do this with mods but let children care for infants and toddlers like an eager older sibling would do. Have them pick them up and give to the parent?
Yes like kids
for infants milestones should be achieved in a way shorter time, my sims infant achieved the crawling milestone after hours of doing the “practice crawling” option and it was a sim day before the infant aged up so I didn’t even get to play with the toddler crawling around
Infants should not be about to die just because I leave out the house and go other place come back and infant is starving and exhausted
I want pacifiers, strollers, and walkers.
Yes me too
Please fix the sims putting the baby on the floor. Sims should just pass baby to parent. Tummy time takes a long time. Pacifiers would be a nice addition. Mom’s and dad’s are experts at holding baby and getting chores done. Diapers should be disposed automatically. Cuddle time on the couch and watch TV together
Diapers are disposed of automatically if you have Growing Together and you slot a bin into the changing table.
We need more clothes for infants and toddler and earrings
In my experience, the infants cry way to much.
They are way to difficult to crawl. It takes hours!
If you leave and come back, the kids are all in the red.
When coming back to game, the infants are on another street and have to be found.
The Sims 4 Infant and Toddler Improvements
Hello Sims 4 Team, I would love it if you included baby pacifiers in the upgrades or a bundle, along with the interaction to feed babies while holding them, whether sitting or standing. I’d also love to see strollers with the interaction to take a walk or move around by putting the baby in the stroller and walking to the loading screen. A backpack-style bag, like the one that already exists, would be great for carrying all the baby and toddler essentials. For example, it would be amazing if it had the interaction to offer food, similar to the one in the highchair, but with more freedom to feed them while holding them, whether standing, sitting, or on a picnic blanket. I would even pay for a bundle that included all of that without hesitation. And if it were purchased early, it would also include a picture frame with a photo of the entire household that could be locked to create as many memory frames as desired. This frame was included with Sims Mobile and also as additional content in the Life & Beyond expansion pack. I’m really sad I don’t have it and I would love to have a frame like that. Thank you in advance, sending you a hug full of light and hope. Sincerely, Ateliris ✨
Milestones are really hard to achieve for infants. It’s extremely hard to hit enough to be realistic without sitting aging off. There’s also no way for infants to do any skills without the playmat. Not very realistic since in real life both infants and toddlers have ample amounts of toys that building real life motor skills.
More objects for them to interact with. Also a baby swing, to keep them calm long enough for the parents to take care up their own needs.
Another thing that is next to impossible is keeping both parents and the younger sims needs fully met.
I miss the objects we had in sims 2 and 3 such as walkers, swings age strollers.
I have a few thoughts on this as I love playing with the infants and toddlers. Some are potential bugs, others are just quality of life suggestions:
– It’s been a while since I had a toddler/infant in a large household, but last time I did, everyone was constantly frozen as they were all simultaneously queueing interactions with the kid but no one was actually doing anything so it was just being left to cry while all the adults silently argued over whose turn it was?
– One of my Sims adopted his husband’s alien babies, but hasn’t fulfilled “become parent” for the Super Parent aspiration (not sure if it’s because I didn’t have the aspiration active at the time of adoption, but Sims who are already parents shouldn’t have to have more kids to meet this criteria)
– I made a Sim who already had an infant. She runs a childcare setting through Businesses and Hobbies. She’s had to adopt her own kid like 18 times. The kid has “be adopted” as a milestone even. They were set as mother and daughter in CAS. Aging her up to toddler fixed it for all of about a minute.
– It would be great if we could give infants finger foods in the high chair before “exploring first baby foods” with them, or grab a serving of home cooked food for them. This would add a little more immersion, especially now that BLW is more widely recommended and practiced in real life.
– Toddlers should be able to sleep in proper beds, or toddler beds should come with varied energy and comfort factors. It’s annoying that my toddlers need to sleep 82 hours a day, they’re missing all the fun then finally getting their energy full when my parent Sims are ready to turn in for the night.
– We should be able to take babies and toddlers to restaurants. I spent ages making a Whitbreads-style community lot, with play equipment outside and a big indoor play zone upstairs, high chairs, potties in the bathrooms etc. and even if I can find a loophole to get my toddlers there, I can’t order them food.
– Toddlers should be able to draw on the craft table, and overall we just need more cross compatibility with age-locked items. I want my adult Sims to play on the pirate ship, or slide down from the treehouse. I want them to help the toddler swing in the swing. I want my Childcare Sim to get fully involved, my Frog Scout Leader to be able to properly impart adult skills to the kids in her group, I want my fun, silly dad Sim to lark about at the playground without having to pretend to be a sea monster. If the kids said “Come on, Dad, go down the slide!” His answer would be “I’ll race you!” I also want my child Sims to be able to crawl through toddler tunnels with younger siblings/cousins.
– Another childhood Stuff Pack with more interactive activities for infants, toddlers and children would be great, too! More imaginative play stuff like toy kitchens, baby dolls (not just the doctor kit), train sets etc. Crafts like playdough. Sensory play. Outdoor activities like water table, sandpit, mud kitchen, baby/toddler swing, paddling pool. Pop up tents and tunnels. Smaller playgroud equipment for little gardens. Ride on toys and rocking horses. Baby items such as bouncy chair, Jumperoo etc. Basically more places to put the infant down that isn’t the floor.
– Is the mess toddlers make when they eat supposed to be draggable? My childcare setting is disgusting at meal times and I’d love to help a Sim out!
Mashed potatoes as a choice too. I have pandasama childbirth mod which includes breast pumps. Baby formula. It would be nice to actually have them. A pediatrician can recommend a special formula for infants with gas. As a infant to be able to introduce food before they can sit. Realistically I fed my kids as infants in a carrier. Supports their back in a sitting position to feed them.
I think that base game should be able to teach infants to sit up and stuff because some pool can not get mods
that’s pretty cool
Toddlers an infants repeatedly ask to be taken out of the high chair right after being put in. Makes feeding them a nightmare. I thought this was supposed to be fixed??
I find it really annoying when the infant/toddler is about to be taken away and I have my sim go feed them or put them in bed and they don’t. They just put them on the ground and walk away, which can make the game pretty unenjoyable. I also really hate the “awake for too long” feature bc my infant will sleep all night and 2 hours later will be crying again over it.
Fix the freakin nanny sims they’re useless when it comes to caring for children
Bring Back Giving Birth At the hospital… home birth sucks. I shouldn’t have to use things to create that in my sims. Also bring home births into reality. And Have A Doula Option
Birth at the hospital is an option if you have Get to Work. You can even follow them there and watch the procedure. Not sure if its an option with base game; I assume it’s a rabbit hole.
Sims can already give birth at the hospital if you have the Get to work expansion. You follow your Sims to the hospital for it.
I would like to see pacifier as strollers.
And for family aspects, I would love to see child support and weekend at the other parents house. If family is not together
A baby swing too.
Teething stages with baby Tylenol orajel to relieve pain.
They should not W sit. Can we have them sit chris-chross or straight legged on the flooe?
The toddlers in sims every time I put the kid in the highchair to eat, they repeatedly call each parent or whoever is around, especially when I have them doing something and the kid refuses to stay in the chair and eat disrupting the adult sims from eating or when I have them working on something, honestly it’s really annoying.
I would love to see
1.pacifiers which could be used temporarily to soothe infants as they cry alot often for no reason.
2. Strollers which can be used when taking infants out of the house.
3. More infant clothing and accessories.
4. I know its not technically about infants or toddlers however I would love to see carriers for newborns that would allow you to take them out of the house. Aswell as to be able to walk around the house carrying them and interact with them instead of them being an object and tied to the bassinet.
I hate I’m trying to get a toddler to their crib and instead they just keep putting them down by the crib like 10 times and won’t do it or sometimes you have to switch to the toddler and have to have them pick them up and then sometimes they still put them in the crib but not all the time That’s very annoying.
The “check on infant” autonomous action runs constantly and cancels things I’ve told them to do with the infant, which drives me crazy and makes everything take a million years. I don’t mind if they stop other things to go check but I just told you to feed them and instead they check infant and then I have to cancel a million actions so they’ll feed the infant. Also, agree that tummy time is annoying. And I hate that they just throw dirty diapers on the ground even if there’s a trash can and changing table available.
Infants and toddlers desperately need strollers or prams. They make any journey outside the house so much longer when the adults need to wait on them to toddle to the location, and keep setting the down and running away. The infant carrier isn’t much better as an adult sim will take it off to change an outfit or take a picture at whim. Strollers. Prams. With storage and trays for snacks. PLEASE
They should add strollers and be able to take family walks
Sims favor high chairs and will autonomously put both infants and toddlers and leave them. (animation to put toddler/infant down gets canceled.
Sims autonomously waking up infants when they finally go to sleep. Sims will autonomously leave infants on the street corner wayyyy outside the home.
I hate the autonomy portion for infants in the fact that I go to have my sim take care of the infant, and then another sim will que after and make the sim I assigned to do the task put the infants down, and then the autonomous sim picks them up, and then puts them down for the assigned sim to do, but then the assigned sim will cancel que and do something else.
I cant play with autonomy off because I dont like micromanaging.
Make the hair accessories. Actual accessory, so the colors can be changed.
More, items and clothes for the infant.
