The Sims 4 – New Concept Art + New Info Tidbits

0

Canard’s PC Magazine included some new info and a new Concept Art in their Latest Issue. Check out all the important tidbits they mentioned about The Sims 4 and take a look at Willow Creek’s gorgeous Concept Art:

1. You can class clothes by color, style or even research “by text”.
2. New walk style : happy.
3. If a gourmet sim eats a hot-dog he’ll be unhappy but will be able to eat and to cook a “tournedos”.
4.To relax a stressed sim you can make him take a relaxing bath to calm him.
5. You can put pictures on the wall without being in build/buy mode.
6. A happy sim will paint a “happy” picture; the mood of the sims who will watch the picture afterwards will feel happy too.
7. A cause will always have the same effect.
8. Each emotion has its own little music.

The Sims 4 – is Create a Sim Demo coming our Way?

13

Create a Sim Demo has been released! Check our Home Page for updates.

Please note this before reading the post below:

  • Our intention is not to spread false rumors since that won’t do any good to our website.
  • We won’t name an Electronic Arts website that leaked this logo. We don’t want to get us or anyone else in trouble for this.
  • If you don’t believe us, that’s fine, but don’t post hate comments since we are making this post all for you and your anticipation for Create a Sim Demo.
  • There is a small possibility that this logo is not refering to Create a Sim Demo (as a downloadable Demo game).

A trusted Electronic Arts website posted The Sims 4 Box Art in .psd (Adobe Photoshop file), and inside of that .psd file there’s a multi-language logo in Adobe Illustrator’s .ai file extension. If you take a look, there’s nothing new in this picture.

But, it appears that a certain layer of this logo is hidden. After I have revealed the hidden layer, this appeared:

This doesn’t entirely have to mean that there will be Create a Sim Demo game coming our way, but there’s also no other point to include this text into a .psd box art for The Sims 4.

The ability to chat with other Sims about your personal traits and interests is still there too, as with The Sims 3.

Although there are still a fair few loading screens in The Sims 4, EA has made it easier to travel around and organise parties or other events by adding a new menu beside the Sim selection tools. Previously, you’d need to use your phone to do any of these things, but this new menu is much less laborious.

Of course, with a brand new Sims game, there are also new worlds to explore. We were shown a few locations with Willow Creek, one of these new worlds, which offers a new neighbourhood called Magnolia Blossom Park. This new locale is vibrant and lush with plant life, creating a stunning backdrop for your Sims’ upcoming activities.

Within these new neightbourhoods, you’ll also get access to collectibles and secrets. It looks like these will build on those offered within The Sims 3, but with a more organic feel. For example, we were shown how you could take a cutting from an apple tree in the park and take it home to plant later. Not all these new secrets and collectibles will be unusual and most should be of use to your Sims’ lives both at home and away.

TIME interviews Ryan Vaughan About The Sims 4!

The game, which allows a player to customize his or her character’s destiny, has evolved into a cultural phenomenon extending beyond merely ‘play’; Sociologists have written papers on the Sims and it has become fodder for writers, journalists and bloggers to explore cultural trends.

In this newest iteration of the franchise, Sims 4 packs in new features, including the ability to allow characters to embody a wider range of emotional states beyond just sad or happy. The emotion component now affects not only how your Sim character executes tasks, but also how you as a player manage him or her.

Out of all the presentations I attended at E3 2014, The Sims 4‘s was my favorite. While I don’t necessarily mean it’s the best game I saw at the show, the game has so much entertainment value that it made for a great demonstration. The presentation perfectly encapsulated all that The Sims 4stands for: fun simulation with more options than you can imagine.

The Sims 4‘s core focus is on the sims that inhabit its virtual world. As such, the first thing shown off was Create A Sim, the tool that allows you to make characters that populate your game world. This part of the game is demonstrative of how much work has gone into making The Sims 4 the best simulation experience of the franchise. It has options that extend from editing of the face, to being able to tug and pull on certain parts of the body to sculpt them. As a result, the presenters were able to show us themselves recreated in the game world which almost perfectly emulated their real selves. Their virtual characters were shockingly similar, and I’d go as far as to say it’s the most elaborate character creation tool I’ve ever seen.

The Sims 4 – Info about Genetics

The Sims 4_ Stories Official Gameplay Trailer 061

The Sims DE Magazine wrote a small article about genetics in The Sims 4. Thanks Crinrict for providing the translation of this article!

Since the Sims characters is now driven by DNA, CAS now has a new feature (our favorite):  The family genetics. When creating a new Sim you can do that like you always did and start at the beginning or use the new functionality and randomize children of two existing Sims – finally hair color isn’t the only thing that kids inherit from their parents. They actually resemble them. In the same way you can create parents and siblings. Your family actually looks like certain physical features are passed on.

The Sims 4 – GameZone interviews Charlie (PR Manager) about Loading Screens

Speaking with EA’s Charlie Sinhaseni, we asked him what some of the consequences would be from a non-fully open world in The Sims 4 (thanks for the question Max, iLoveBacons).

“I don’t know if you look at it as consequences,” he said. “I think we look at it as a lot of benefits — density of interactions, density of environments, density of sims.

“The player is going to win in every respect here because there’s more to do and more to see and more going on around you at all times. And on top of that, some of the load times have been improved. We chopped down on a lot of them,” he said. “I think that’s beneficial to the player in every respect.”

The more frequent, but shortened load times have allowed Maxis to go for density with the game’s environments. “

In Magnolia Blossom Park, it’s a very large open area, but with lots of sims,” Sinhaseni pointed out. “When we got to the gym, what did you see? Lots of sims already in there working out. I think it’s one of those things that when you see it you understand that we’ve done a lot of work and tuning that these areas feel right and alive.”
