You Can Put Your Umbrellas Away – The Indoor Weather Bug is FINALLY Being Fixed!

After 5 long months, the Sims 4 indoor weather bug is finally being fixed in the next game patch due on July 1st. This was confirmed after the release of yesterday’s patch by Shawnee over on the official The Sims Discord channel. The main thread on the official EA Forums had over 1,900 upvotes and over 700 comments from players dealing with the same issue.

CONVERSATION 2

Thank you for your patience while we investigated the Rain Indoors issue. We’re happy to share that we’ve identified a fix that would address this in the next update, and will confirm via the upcoming Laundry List.

The weather effects indoors bug was first reported after a game patch was released on January 14th. The cause of this visual bug was difficult for the team to pinpoint, as there are numerous factors that contribute to programming The Sims 4. For most players who reported the bug, it was purely visual; Sims would not get wet from rain or cold from snow, as the bug hasn’t affected the internal temperature of structures in-game. If you are annoyed by this bug, rain and snow can be turned off in the game settings until the July 1st patch is released.

The issue was changed from ‘reviewed’ to ‘under investigation’ very quickly over on the EA forums, and in both the April and May laundry lists, the team confirmed that they were still being investigated, and that players could submit save files for the team to replicate errors.

Id like to know why i can no longer play on my omen 16 laptop. Yet it runs no problem on my 10 year old Asus Thinkpad. Its been a month and i cant load the game at all. It flashes 4 black screens then goes to an all white web page. Ive never used any CC, mods or even dl’s from the gallery. Ive repaired dozens of times, reinstalled and even did a full factory wipe of the machine and still it wont run. Im flummoxed and disappointed. Ive been playing sims ts1 and have invested thousands into this game/company. Id simply like to enjoy my investment.

They’ve been updating the sims so much to keep it modern that the system minimum requirements have probably changed that requires people to get new computers. Have you checked them recently? Have you updated all the software and drivers on your computer? To enjoy my investment I had to switch from Mac to pc specifically from windows 7-8 then got outdated so to Mac then they discontinued support for non metal graphics and had to get a new pc laptop that had all the right specs and windows 10/11. So the issue is very well could be your computer.

Just in time for the new game content focused on outdoor play. Just like I mused before.

I had rain and snow coming through my roof but nothing accumulated on the floor. Sometimes my sims seemed affected by and other times, not. When it became clear that a fix was going to take awhile, I turned off the weather in the game settings and haven’t been bothered by it since.

Overall, I will say the bug has not affected me as much as i thought it would. I have kept the weather effects on and overall, it really has been more of a visual effect than anything else. I know when the game first this issue had my sims were getting effected from the weather from time to time indoors. Then when other updates were released, I noticed that they had stopped. I am just glad this is going to be in the next update in the game resolved and I hope the next pack that does come out is good and enjoyable especially for the outdoor activities it is promising to bring. Probably won’t buy it till a sale or ill get it from a 3rd party.

I get wet moodlets inside when this “purely visual” bug occurs making the entire game broken.
