11 Ways You Can Customize Your Clubs in The Sims 4 Get Together

Via The Sims Blog

Your Club, Your Rules

When The Sims 4 Get Together Expansion Pack* comes out on December 8 in North America, you’ll be experiencing something totally new: Clubs! With Clubs, you’ll be able to lead groups of Sims in a Gathering, where they’ll follow Club rules, do Club activities, and react to situations in the ways their Club suggests. Sims in a Gathering will even break their own rules in favor of keeping in line with the Club’s rules.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWPZgy2peFA

You’ll be able to join a pre-made Club, like the food-obsessed Upper Crusts or the stylish Paragons, but you can also create your own! Here are all of the ways you can customize your own Clubs.

Choose your Club’s name. Obviously, before you start doing anything else, you’re going to want to decide what to name your Club. You could go with something fairly generic (The [THING] Club!), or try to think of something cooler – like an inside joke!

Pick Your Club Logo. When Sims are in a Gathering, little icons float above their heads showing that they’re hanging out with their Club. There are dozens to choose from, so you’ll be able to find the perfect insignia for your Club to use.

TS4_554_EP02_CLUB_SCREENS_01_002

Set Club Requirements. Do you want your Club to be open to anyone and everyone? Or do you want it to be a bit more… exclusive? You can decide what sorts of people are allowed in by choosing Age Groups, Skill Levels, and even Traits that your Club members are required to have.

Choose Club Activities. Here’s where things start getting really exciting. You’re able to choose from a list of over 100 Activities that you can encourage Club members to do when they’re in a Club Gathering – things like Play Instrument, Cook, Swim, Tell Jokes, View Art, and (a lot) more. Your Club can have five Encouraged Activities, which creates a ton of possibilities!

Set Club’s Banned Activities. On the other side of the coin, you can also choose up to five things that your Club members aren’t supposed to do. When you mix these with the Club Activities, you get some absolutely crazy options. Want your members to Hug, Kiss, be Romantic, but never to WooHoo when in a Club Gathering? You can do that!

TS4_554_EP02_CLUB_SCREENS_02_002

Make Your Activities More Specific. Besides being able to choose Club Activities and Banned Activities, you can take it a level deeper and say who your Members are supposed to do these things with. Your Club members might love swimming, but maybe they won’t swim with members of another specific Club. Or maybe they flat-out can’t talk to specific members of other Clubs. Break the rules, and your Sim might get kicked out of the Club!

Create a Club Outfit. Want your Club members to all wear a matching jacket and hat (with a matching Club logo) when they enter a Club Gathering? Want them to wear matching… hot dog costumes? You’re able to choose their outfits, personalizing your Club’s style as much as you want.

Pick a Hangout. A Club needs a place to hang out, right? When you’re making your Club, you can make their Hangout a general place, like any Bar or any Gym, or a specific place in the world. Different Club types call for different Hangout types – a Foodie Club might want to check out any café they can find, whereas a Workout Club might only want to frequent a specific gym.

TS4_554_EP02_CLUB_SCREENS_03_002

Customize a Hangout Location. If you want to personalize your Hangouts even more, you can choose to have your Club gather at a specific lot, and then use door locks to only allow access to your Club to make an exclusive place that only they can enter. This means that an Art Club can have a secret backroom where only thebest artwork is held, or the Gaming Club could have a special room with extra computers to play on. There’s also special Club décor you can unlock to help you customize your Hangout even further.

Unlock a Club Vibe. The more your Sims preform Club activities, the more Club points you’ll earn. These can be used to unlock a slew of Perks, like secret handshakes and Club vibes. Club vibes are emotions that your members will feel once they’re in a Gathering, so you can make your Workout Club automatically Energized, or your Romance Club Flirty during Club Gatherings.

Get Club Skill Boosts. There are other Perks besides Club Vibes, though – you can also get Skill bonuses, meaning that your Sims will gain skill at an increased rate while in a Club Gathering. Mix that together with a Vibe, and you can end up with some really interesting results. An Art Club that gains Artistic skill faster and is always Inspired can be pretty awesome at cranking out incredible paintings.

We built the Club system to be as robust as possible, and we can’t wait to see the amazing things you’re going to create with them when The Sims 4 Get Together Expansion Pack launches in December!

Patch Notes:

Update: 11/03/2015 – PC Version 1.12.118 .1020 / Mac Version 1.12.118.1220Update: 11/03/2015 – PC Version 1.12.117.1020 / Mac Version 1.12.117.1220

Hey Trick and Treaters!

Did your team win? Did your Sims trick, treat… or a little bit of both?

I know what I wanted to win!

I didn’t win…

It’s alright though… I’ll… *sniff*… I’ll carry on. Maybe someday…

But wait, have you seen the Gummie Fish in your game yet? Or the Bonefish? No? Why are you reading this?! Go play now!

Oh… but you only got one? I’ve heard rumors that Gummies and Bone fishies are natural enemies, and can often be found in the same fishing spots…

Well, I hope you had fun with the challenge. And now – The rewards!

  • A new door, Edgar the Generous, offers lionhearted thanks to #TeamTreat, and can be found in the Buy catalog, eager to greet your friends and neighbors.
  • The Gumber Fesh Bow is now available in the Buy catalog, with a lifetime supply of Gummie Fish to fill your bowls.
  • The Ornate Beauty storage chest can be found in your Buy catalog. Open it up and let it store all of your collections for you.
  • We also are going to say goodbye to the Trick and Treat interactions. Thank you for spending time with us… and maybe we’ll see you again.

But wait – is there more?

We’ve heard tell that repairing is tedious, tiresome… now, you can call the Repair Service any time, day or night, to fix up your broken this and that’s… for a small fee of course.

  • Found in the phone menu, the repair service will send over a speedy repair technician to quickly repair your brokenings.
  • There are also new socials that are available on the repair person to gain Handiness skill for your handiless Sims.

We have also addressed a handful of issues (if you could figuratively hold a single issue upon a finger, then there is literally a handful of addressed issues in this release).

  • We fixed an issue that could prevent the maid from arriving during their normally scheduled work hours, if they attempted to arrive for work on a weekend.
    • Maids should now properly work their Mon-Fri shifts, and will no longer attempt to work overtime on the weekends.
  • As we were introducing the repair service to the game, we noticed long periods of time where the repairperson would stand doing nothing – this also occurred for other repair services (such as the maid). We have adjusted the ‘do-nothingness’ for the service NPCs, and are happy with the lessening of the nothingness time.
    • “Hey Bub? Fella?! HEY! BUB?! Hey! I’m paying your by the hour here fella!! BUB!?!”
  • You can now remove a fish from a fish bowl if the power is off.
    • Apparently our fish were afraid of the dark, and would cat clamp themselves to the sides of the fish bowl if you attempted to remove them when the power was off. We fixed this, and now you can shove as many fish as you want into your pockets regardless of power state.
  • We addressed several foundation issues that would result in Sims being unable to properly route over foundations within some lots in Willow Creek.

EP01 Issues

  • The Booking Station and Interrogation Table will now properly function even when they are not in their default colors.
    • Somehow these two objects lost all functionality if their colors were altered… yep, that happened.

Thank you so much for all of your participation in the October Challenge! I hope you had as much fun with it in game, as we did watching the challenge play out.

Until next time,
-SimGuruGnome

Welcome back to another week of The Sims Video Spotlight! As it is Halloween, this post is certainly influenced by the theme – we’ve got some great spooky builds, Create A Sim videos and more from the community!

Build

The Sims 4 | Room Build: Halloween Living Room

By Jessamica92

First up this week is a wonderful Halloween living room build. It’s perfectly decorated for a Spooky Party if you ask me, I know my sims would be having a blast in there tonight!

Room Building – Halloween Kitchen

By TheCurtisParadisShow

Moving on to the kitchen, here is another themed room build. This is one is an instant favourite of mine as I love how well the kitchen blends into the dining room. It has a classic, old feel to it and is perfect for Halloween.

The Sims 4 | House Building: Haunted Manor

By SimtasticBuilder

Our last build video today is truly stunning. It is so interesting and unique, the layout adds so much character to the building and it makes me really look forward to when we may get more themed worlds in The Sims 4.

Create A Sim

The Sims 4 | Teen Halloween Costume CAS

By CourtGraceffa

Moving on to Create A Sim videos, we begin with a short and sweet, basic Halloween costume for a teenager. She’s adorable!

The Sims 4 | Create a Sim: Corpse Bride

By GamingMermaid with Kpopsimmer

For a more full-on look, here is Emily from the Corpse Bride. She is so well done, I just had to include her because not only is it different it’s very well made.

The Sims 4 | Create A Sim: Halloween Inspired – Vampire

By Starry

Next we have this beautiful vampiric sim, I think Starry did a great job as she has such a classic, sultry look to her.

The Sims 4 | Create A Sim: Creepy Doll

By Simtacular

Onto the last Create A Sim video, I found this and deemed it almost necessary to include this week. This doll looking sim is indeed creepy, I certainly wouldn’t want her showing up in my sims houses at night that’s for sure! But she is beautiful and very well made, all the custom content used to make her has been listed in the description of the video!

Let’s Play

The Sims 4 | SPOOKY PARTY: Spooky Stuff Pack + Halloween CC

By CaptainSauce

For those of you who are into play based videos, these last two are just that. We begin with CaptainSauce throwing a Spooky Party, showing items and custom content in a pretty hilarious way. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this and I think you will too!

The Sims Freeplay | Night Of The Candy Monsters Quest

By Greenoid Gemzicle

Our final video this week is something a little different, a recent update for The Sims Freeplay is Halloween themed and I found this video playing through it. If you’re interested in this or you play the game yourself I recommend watching this!

Thank you for reading guys and I hope you have a wonderful Halloween – if you celebrate it! Remember to always stay safe if you go out anywhere, or you know, it’s extra safe to stay inside and play The Sims, right? 😉

The Sims 4: Shower WooHoo VFX found in Game Files

0

Andrew’s Studio Effects Player mod has allowed The Sims Forums member mrnhmath to find several interesting VFX inside The Sims 4 game files.

There are a couple of Visual Effects that are named Shower_WooHoo, with some variations at the end of the code.

showerwoohoo1

We wanted to test these codes inside the game using the Effects Player and to our surprise, all the Visual Effects for Shower WooHoo are working properly!

[vc_video link=’https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lXIIE5PX34c&’]

As we don’t know when when did they add Shower WooHoo VFX codes in The Sims 4 we can’t really tell if it’s a leftover from one of the early projects on TS4 or if it’s a feature waiting to be re-introduced in the game.

Five Best Magic Spells and Charms In The Sims History

Magic is one of the most polarizing aspects in every sims game. This is do in part to some simmers preferring to keep their games as realistic as possible, while others prefer more fantastical gameplay. Below are some of the best, most unique and hilarious uses of magic in all of The Sims series.

5. Perfect Garden

The Sims Makin’ Magic

gnome2

I don’t know how many of you played The Sims and had a gardening family, but it was tough. Not only did it take long, but it was a real mood killer and your sims needed constant upkeep in between watering, weeding, and harvesting. With the perfect garden spell, the entire garden was magically grown to full size.

But that’s now why this spell makes it to number five on the list. That honor goes to the backfire of this spell. If you have any previously enchanted gnomes on your lot, they will instead destroy your garden and attack your sim. And who doesn’t love watching their sim get a swift kick to the shin by a garden gnome?

4. Midas Touch

The Sims 3 Supernatural

midas

Technically this isn’t a spell or charm, as it’s a potion, but it still deserves to be on the list – especially since the actual spells from Sims 3 were lame. Once a sim consumed this potion they were able to use the midas touch on objects to morph them into solid gold. Not only does this increase the objects value, but it looks awesome too.

By the way, this can also be used on other sims as well. So if you think your neighbor is super attractive you can go ahead and make a solid gold statue out of them.

3. Clone Drone

The Sims Makin’ Magic

clone

No one likes to work. With clone drone, you don’t have to. Spawn an exact replica of yourself and send them off to work to take care of the monotonous aspects of life while you chill at home on the sofa watching movies. Just be careful with this one because if it backfires your clone may explode and burn your entire house to the ground.

Laziness comes with its own set of risks.

2. A Friend Indeed

The Sims Makin’ Magic

dog2

Are you tired of getting weird stares from people every time you refer to your dog as your child? End those stares by actually turning your dog into a human and prove all of those naysayers wrong. You’ll still have an extra mouth to feed, but at least this way it’s a mouth that can feed itself.

However you probably still shouldn’t refer to the new human as your child either, I guess it’s still creepy.

1. Tempus Interruptus

The Sims 2 Apartment Life

tempus

Do you wish their were more hours in the day? Is the car pool on its way, but you still need an extra skill point? Tempus Interruptus is here for you. Now you can take care of anything with no rush at all. If you have a family full of witches then everyone can make use of it. If you’re the only witch around then you not only get those extra hours, but you get to laugh at your lame relatives that are frozen in time.

So go ahead and add more hours to your day.

Honorable Mention – Tabula Rasa

The Sims 2 Apartment Life

tabula

There’s no other spell as vile as Tabula Rasa. You force amnesia on your worst foes so they completely forget all of their memories and relationships. Now they’ll feel completely alone in this world. It didn’t make the list because I literally can’t think of a time to ever use this spell because it’s so dastardly.

Honorable Mention – Enchant

The Sims Makin’ Magic

flamingo2 gnome3

I had to include enchant on this list because it’s a purely comical spell. With it you can morph lawn flamingos into showgirls and garden gnomes into gardening experts. However, a nectar press on your lot means the enchanted gnome will actually be an alcoholic that refuses to do anything other than swim in the nectar.

So how about you guys? What are some of your favorite magical spells, charms, and potions from any of The Sims games?

The Sims 4: November Update Teaser (Repairman NPC coming back?)

0

The Sims has posted a hintful image (what seems to be a small cut from a full render) with the following quote:

“Broken fridge? Again? Yep. I can swing over on Tuesday. Alright, see you then.”

CSlyP2PWsAA5AhR

Could this mean that Repairman NPC will be returning in this Tuesday’s update? Time will tell!

Until then, join the discussion about this hint on SC Social!

The Sims 4 Get Together receives a 12+ Rating!

0

UPDATE: TheSims.com updated their The Sims 4 Get Together FAQ page with an information about the ESRB rating:

What is The Sims 4 Get Together rated?

The Sims 4 Get Together is rated T for Teen by the ESRB.

Since the announcement, The Sims 4 Get Together’s rating always stated RP (Rating Pending). That means that features that The Sims Team has been working on were still in progress, development and/or creation
