From Castaways to Celebrity Wellness Centres: Here’s 7 Unique Ideas For The Natural Living Skill
Besides Fairies, one of the standout features in The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature is the new Natural Living Skill and its associated features. There’s the obvious live in Innisgreen and make Elixirs gameplay, but what if you looked at it from a new angle? From foraging the shores of Sulani, to roleplaying as an Anthropologist from Sixam, here are 7 unique gameplay ideas to spice up your gameplay!
Table of Contents
Urban Nomad – A Different Kind Of Jungle
The topic of homelessness is a tough one; it’s a real issue that affects many. A popular challenge in The Sims 4 is the Rags to Riches challenge, which tasks players with starting with §0 and working their way up the ladder of success. Of course, it isn’t that easy in real life. In my home city of London, an estimated 11,000 people are sleeping rough, a staggering number. I have decided to frame this gameplay as living as a Natural Nomad, a Sim who, instead of living in the wilderness, lives in the jungle instead.
Living in the wilderness poses significant challenges; however, with San Myshuno at your Sims’ disposal, the possibilities are vast. The lack of green space makes foraging a challenge, and making money even harder. Locations such as the Skye Fitness offer a place to exercise and shower, Planet Honey Pop karaoke lounge provides entertainment, and San Myshuno’s very own slice of greenery comes in the form of Myshuno Meadows. Players with packs such as Snowy Escape or Outdoor Living may find using a tent a little more enjoyable when dealing with the elements.
Worlds such as San Myshuno and Mt Komorebi have the added bonus of off-lot festivals. Try your hand at haggling at the flea market, or perhaps enter the Hackathon at Geek Con to earn some extra simoleons! Playing with the Natural Living skill in an urban environment is a game changer. While there are some benefits of living in the big smoke, there are added challenges.
Castaway – Stranded And Alone
Long-time players of The Sims will be more than well aware of some of the best spin-off games the franchise has ever seen: The Sims 2 Castaway and The Sims Castaway Stories. Many players, myself included, yearn for the return of a fully fledged Castaway experience. The Natural Living skill makes this style of gameplay somewhat possible, and what better place to stand my Sim than Sulani!
Sulani has everything your Sims ned to survive. Water for bathing, fishing spots for food, and plenty of open jungle to forage for your next meal. Throwing in a few Lot Challenges makes this experience even more enjoyable! Try out the Creepy Crawlies lot challenge to have your Sim constantly bothered by pests, or maybe Volcanic Activity, as after all your Sim is living next to the very much active volcano of Mua Pel’am!
Starting with only the bare necessities is challenging, but build your Natural living skill to level 5 and your Sims will be able to forage for collectables that can be easily sold off for a few “Simoleons”. Perhaps look at Simoleons more like resource points from The Sims Castaway Stories and use them to build a small hut or a massive waterside mansion, the choice is all yours!
Alien Anthropologist – A New Planet To Explore
Aliens are out there! It’s true, well, for owners of The Sims 4 Get To Work. Aliens were the first occult to be introduced in The Sims 4. Although they may lack a skill tree and other features we have grown to expect from occults, playing as one is still a blast. For this story, your Alien crashed their ship deep in the wilderness on their way back to Sixam. With the Off-the-Grid lot challenge, the spaceship is out of action, so why not take this opportunity to find out everything you can about SimNations’ life forms without arousing suspicion?
Aliens are able to don a human disguise to trick Sims into believing they are one of them. This is handy for heading into populated areas and foraging for frogs and insects to take back to your ship, and hopefully one day return home. The Sims 4 features many collections, so perhaps your mission is to complete every single one! You can keep track of all collections by heading to your Sim’s inventory and clicking the diamond icon in the top right.
While you’re on your quest for all things alien (to your Alien that is), why not join the Scientist career and work your way up the career ladder until you’re able to construct the portal back to Sixam to reunite with your Alien friends and family.
The Middle Ages – Between The Early And Late Ages I Suppose
The History and Decades challenges are popular challenges within The Sims 4 community. The aim is to recreate history within your game with accurate rules for each period/decade, and live as our ancestors did. The Sims Medieval gave us just a glimpse as to what it’s like to play as Sims in an era different to our own. The Natural Living skill adds a few new options for historical gameplay. Let’s take a look at playing as a Sim ‘outatime’!
For this style of gameplay, you can either follow the official rules or play your own way as you roleplay your way through the Middle Ages. Life was simple back then, no TV, no phone, no computer, or refrigerator, or even electricity! That all adds to the fun of this gameplay style. Why not create a whole medieval society on The Crumbling Isle in Windenburg? Craft elixirs and cures for ailed townsfolk, or play as a spellcaster, keeping their powers hidden from the human Sims in their village. Or keep it simple and raise livestock and cultivate plants. For an added challenge, try playing with the Simple Living lot challenge from The Sims 4 Cottage Living Expansion Pack, which requires all food to be prepared with sourced ingredients either from gardening or foraging.
Religion was central to the way of life in the Middle Ages. While The Sims has shied away from including religious beliefs (with The Sims Medieval including The Watcher followed by both Jacoban and Peteran sects), that doesn’t mean you have to. Modders such as Lumpinou with their Rambunctious Religions mod have added forms of religion and religious beliefs into the game. If you are a console player or prefer to play without mods, then a good solution is creating a holiday via the calendar with the ‘Attend Holiday Ceremony’ tradition to simulate sending your Sims off to church.
The Medieval Era, as with many others until the late 20th to 21st century, was not a pleasant place for many people. Not just because of the constant plagues and wars, but because of class, race, and sexual oppression, for women especially. While activities for life were restricted for women who had to live with less agency, that doesn’t mean you have to play that way, too. The rules are completely optional in The Sims, so have fun roleplaying your Medieval fantasy.
Celebrity Wellness Centre – Remember You Are One
The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature brings with it a brand new semi-active career that allows your Sim to become a Lifestylke Coach or an Apothe-Curist. Who says those jobs have to be reserved for forest-dwelling Nomads and Pixies? Why not bring the holistic approach to medicine to Del Sol Valley’s rich and famous? Utilising the Small Business Venues lot type from The Sims 4 Businesses & Hobbies to open your very own wellness centre for the rich and famous is a great way to rake in the simoleons.
The ability to have a small business venue open while also taking in clients daily is a big money maker. While your Naturopath Sims coaches and cures ailed Sims, your employees can tend to customers at the massage chair or table, teach yoga classes or tend to a coffee bar for those Sims needing an energy boost after a tough workout.
You can take this concept a step further by opening an elixir and cure store attached to your wellness centre. Unfortunately, you can’t instruct employees to create apothecary items, but by the time your Sim reaches the Lifestyle Coaching branch, they are likely to have accrued many concoctions from levelling up their Apothecary skill.
Post-Apocalyptic Gameplay – Crawl Out Through The Fallout
Unlike medieval gameplay, post-apocalyptic gameplay is something we have yet to see in The Sims franchise. Whether you’re playing in a wasteland scenario or using Sacrificial’s Zombie Apocalypse mod, your Sim can rely on foraging, brewing natural elixirs, and crafting supplies to stay alive when traditional infrastructure collapses.
Without access to shops, electricity, or plumbing, survival becomes about working with what the land provides. Your Sim can scavenge for wild ingredients in remote areas nd create makeshift living spaces with limited resources. Pairing Natural Living with the Off-the-Grid and Simple Living lot challenges makes every meal feel like a hard won victory.
If you’re using the Zombie Apocalypse mod, Natural Living adds an extra layer of strategy. You can venture into the zombie-ridden wastes to forage for resources, or take a risky bath in the local river. Their growing knowledge of the natural world becomes their biggest asset and maybe even their only hope for survival.
Combine with rugged clothing, broken-down lots, and scavenging-focused aspirations to complete the survival fantasy. It’s a great challenge for players who want to test their Sims’ limits and their storytelling skills.
The Sims 4 Jungle Adventure Game Pack is all about exploration, danger, and discovery, but it can also be punishing if your Sim isn’t well prepared. Venomous bites, swarms of bugs, poison darts, and sheer exhaustion can quickly turn a promising expedition into a holiday from hell. That’s where the Natural Living skill steps in, offering a grounded, resourceful way to make jungle survival more manageable and immersive.
Sims with a high Natural Living skill are better equipped to live off the environment in practical, low-tech ways. When far from civilisation, they can keep clean by bathing in natural bodies of water, making use of ponds and swamps to stay hygienic without the need for plumbing. It’s essential when you’re deep in the jungle with no facilities nearby.
Foraging also becomes a core survival tactic. Your Sim can search the jungle floor for edible plants, berries, and other natural foods to keep their hunger at bay. This reduces the need to carry supplies or return to your Vacation rental for a snack, and it makes every expedition feel more self sufficient. Food doesn’t come from a fridge; it comes from the land.
And when night falls and there’s no bed in sight? With the Natural Living skill, Sims can sleep directly on the ground, turning any safe clearing into a makeshift campsite. It’s a small touch, but it reinforces the idea of truly roughing it. These abilities transform Salvadorada from a holiday destination into a survival scenario. Some players may find it makes the experience easier, but all Natural Living interactions are optional.

The Sims 4 has long teased players with its quirky, supernatural life states—from vampires and mermaids to spellcasters and aliens. But one occult type has always felt like an afterthought: the PlantSim. That is, until now. Thanks to the Expanded PlantSims Mod by SpinningPlumbobs, leafy Sims finally get the glow-up they deserve.
The Sims 4 Expanded PlantSims Mod Walkthrough
A Real Occult, Not Just a Timed Gimmick
In vanilla Sims 4, becoming a PlantSim was a limited-time event, locked behind a five-day lifespan and a single transformation method. The Expanded PlantSims Mod ditches those constraints entirely. Once your Sim becomes a PlantSim, it’s permanent—like any other occult form. You can even create them directly in CAS, with a selection of five leafy Plumbob designs to choose from: Vine, Flower, Mushroom, Branch, and Bizarre.
Getting Started: How to Become a PlantSim
There are multiple transformation routes available now, offering variety and integration with different gameplay styles:
Classic Method: Use the Magic Beans and Forbidden Fruit, just like the old challenge.
Grow One: Plant a Baby PlantSim seed and raise it to maturity.
Magna Flora: Befriend a massive flower and earn your transformation through nature’s grace.
Eat a Magic Mushroom: This unlocks the fungal Myconid form.
Consume Bizarre Fruit: For players with StrangerVille, this unlocks a blue-toned Bizarre PlantSim with unique behaviours.
Powers, Skills, and Progression
PlantSims now comes with a dedicated skill tree: PlantSim Form. As you level up, you unlock powerful nature-based perks like:
Florakinesis: Control plants and encourage faster growth.
Chloroblast: Send out a burst of energy to revive nearby plants.
Spriggan Form: Morph into a seasonal guardian with weather-altering powers.
Sunlight Charge: Restore your needs by basking in the sun.
Subterranean Travel: Zip around the world through root systems.
Need meters are adjusted as well—PlantSims no longer eat but rely on water and sunlight. You can absorb puddles, sunbathe in soil, or commune with Mother Nature herself.
New Forms & Variants
Beyond the base PlantSim, the mod introduces several subtypes, each with its own flair:
Spriggan: A tree guardian tied to seasonal energy and weather.
Myconid: A fungal hybrid born from spores and mushrooms.
Bizarre PlantSim: A StrangerVille-flavoured version that avoids sunlight and spreads spores.
Satyr: Unlocked via perks; these wild, nature-bound creatures play pan flutes and thrive in forests.
Nature Interactions and Quests
The mod adds more than just powers. You can plant and raise Magna Flora, a towering flower that becomes your leafy companion. Or grow a Giant Beanstalk and climb it to uncover hidden treasures. Even Mother Nature herself can be summoned and befriended, rewarding eco-conscious Sims with powerful traits and blessings.
Gameplay Integration
The Expanded PlantSims Mod is impressively well-integrated with the base game and expansion content:
Compatible with Eco Lifestyle, gardening systems, and weather mechanics.
Introduces a new aspiration: Friend of Nature, with a trait that enhances plant interactions.
Doesn’t require DLC (except StrangerVille for the bizarre variant).
Why It’s a Must-Have
PlantSims has always had potential, but EA never fully leaned into it. This mod transforms them into a viable, engaging life state with deep mechanics, customisation, and narrative opportunities. Whether you want to live off the land, nurture mystical gardens, or join an underground root network, the Expanded PlantSims Mod gives you the tools to do so—and makes it fun.
Final Thoughts
If you’ve ever felt like The Sims 4’s supernatural side needed more variety—or if you just like the idea of turning your Sim into a nature-powered forest spirit—this mod is a game-changer. It’s visually stunning, functionally rich, and incredibly well-made. It doesn’t just expand gameplay—it transforms it.
The forest is calling. Time to touch the grass.

Becoming a Fairy
Turn into a Fairy
There are a few different ways to embark on the magical journey of the Sims 4 Fairies. To become a Fairy, your Sim will need to acquire a Fairy Seedling. Try Foraging around, completing Fables, ordering from the computer, or asking a Fairy directly to find this magical seed. Then, plant the seed to Summon Mother Nature and begin the Fairy transformation. Use the Ask for Mother Nature’s Charm interaction to get the necessary charm, and then head over to Moondrop Springs to complete the transition with the Become a Fairy interaction. Your Sim will start their new life as a Fairy, and be gifted the Fae Fan Bell flower.
Sims can also be turned into a Fairy by Radiant Fairies who have unlocked the Transform into Fairy ability. This interaction is not available with other Occult Sims.
Being Born into Magic
Some Sims work hard to earn their wings, while others are born with this privilege. Sims born from Fairy parents will have the High Fae Lineage Personality Trait, and sprout their wings once they become a Teen. Teens also get an update to their Needs with the addition of Emotional Force.
You can see the ring around your Sim’s Plumbob that signifies they are an Occult Sim, and the High Fae Lineage Personality Trait among their traits for Sims ages Infant and up. Newborn, Infant, and Toddler Sims do not have any Fairy interactions, and older Sims are not able to use any Fairy interactions on them.
As young Sims 4 Fairies, Toddlers and Children are prone to feeling strong emotions. They may have sudden bursts of anger, causing nearby objects to break. Older Fairies can help manage their emotions, which will help young Fairies learn Emotional Stability over time.
Fairy Kid Sims can use the Ask to Absorb Emotion, What’s Your Favorite Place to Sleep?, Discuss Wing Coloration, and Laugh about Flight Fumbles Fairy social interactions.
Create a Fairy in Create a Sim
To create your Sims 4 Fairies, launch Create a Sim and get to work, just make sure to take your time. Occult Sims can have entirely different appearances when it comes to their Normie-self and Occult-self by using the Link Features option.
Clicking the Link icon “breaks” the link and allows you to customize which feature you would like to change when your Occult Sim transforms. If you would like them to stay the exact same in both forms, just make sure the Link icon is “locked”.
Create a Sims gives you the option to Link or Unlink the following features:
All
Body Shape
Face
Skin Tone
Hair
Voice
Clothing
Makeup
I recommend checking that your Link selections haven’t changed for your Sim prior to making any changes through the Plan Outfit or Change Appearance interactions.
You can use Create a Sim or the in-game Plan Outfit and Change Appearance interactions to adjust your Sim’s fairy wings. These can be customized, or you can choose the pre-existing color swatch options.
Fairy Interactions
Fairies ages Kids and up have inherent Fairy interactions. Kids have specific social interactions, as mentioned earlier, but once they reach their Teenage years, they unlock so much more. As Faint Fairies in The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature, all Fairies are able to Detect and Absorb Emotions, Conceal Fairy Form, Regenerate Emotional Force, and Brush Off Fairy Dust, and, of course, Fly around.
The Fairy Skill Tree expands these interactions, unlocking new Fairy Abilities as your Sim reaches each level. Fairy Sims can Project Emotion, use the Bloom self-interaction to bring a plant to a harvestable state, Sway Emotions of other Sims, Enchant plants, Apply and Cure Ailments, Turn Sims into Fairies, and more.
Fairy Abilities can be for the better or worse of society, and may have some consequences. Fairies need to be careful using Fairy Abilities in the Coast of Adhmor neighborhood from The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature. Due to some past political and cultural tensions, using Fairy Abilities in that neighborhood is frowned upon by the Fairy Council.
If your Sim is witnessed using Fairy Abilities, they will get a warning from the Fairy Council. If they continue, they will lose their Daily Fairy Dust Ration privilege at the Mossveil Fairy Hub. Your Sim will then be labeled a Problem Fairy, earning the Problem Fairy Trait, and will need to either meet with Care Ren or visit the Court at Mossveil Fairy Hub. Don’t worry, though, the unfortunate trait can be removed by the council, and you will be able to collect Fairy Dust again.
To rid themself of this negative trait, your Sim will need to use the Appeal Problem Fairy Status at Fairy Court interaction and pay a fine, or find Care Ren and use the Pay Restitution interaction. If you choose to Discuss Fairy Behavior with Care Ren, you will have to spend some time in nature and be given a packet of seeds to plant.
Needs and Emotional Force
Similar to other occults, Sims 4 Fairies have different needs. While fairies no longer have to worry about Hunger and Bladder anymore, a new Fairy-specific Need is introduced, known as Emotional Force. Emotional Force is consumed when performing Fairy Abilities, and running out entirely will put your Fairy Sim in serious danger! When this Need starts to run out, your Sim will become Emotionally Starving.
They can recover Emotional Force in various ways. Fairy Sims can use the Absorb Emotion interaction to absorb other Sims’ emotions, use the Regenerate Emotional Force self-interaction, drink Emotion Potions, Swim in the Moondrop Springs, or use a Fairy Home to fill up their Emotional Force bar.
Your Sim will also need to be wary of absorbing emotions that are too powerful. That can lead to Overload, which will do some serious Emotional Force damage!
Fairies and Other Occults
The Sims 4 Fairies live in harmony with the other mystical Occults. When your Fairy Sim meets Werewolves and other Occult Sims, you’ll notice they start out with a good relationship since their occults are on good terms. Rumor has it, if a Fairy and a Werewolf Sim Try for a Baby, they’ll wind up with a set of twins!
Fairy Sims will get requests from other Occult Sims to aid them with their Fairy Abilities, and your Sim can choose to help out or send them on their way. Fairy Sims also have the ability to Cure Vampirism.
The Fairy Aspiration & Magical Traits
The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature introduces the Fairy Aspiration, allowing your Sim to choose a path of harmony or disruption. Choosing this Aspiration in Create a Sim or when aging up from Teen to Young Adult will grant your Sim the Fairy Influence Trait, making their relationships fluctuate more when socializing with Fairy Sims and Gnomes, for the better or worse.
Reaching level three of the aspiration earns your Sim the Into the Everdew Trait, which lets your Sim gain Fairy Ability Points faster and have fun doing it! Completing the Harmonious Fairy Path adds the Happily Harmonious Personality Trait, gaining your Sim an increased relationship with Sims 4 Fairies and more Fun when guiding others down their Fairy Journey. Completing the Discordant Fairy Path unlocks the Delightfully Discordant Reward Trait, letting your Sim gain Balance and Fun when using malicious Fairy Abilities.
The Mystical Personality Trait helps your Fairy Sim live harmoniously with others and allows them to Grant a Sacred Blessing. Another helpful Trait for Fairy Sims!
Get Rid of your Fairy Essence with Mother Nature
If your Sim is ready to leave their Fairy life behind them and embrace their next chapter, they’ll need to contact the Sim who started it all. According to local legend, “The history of Everdew began after Mother Nature used the full moon’s powers to pour her emotions into Moondrop Springs and the spring was left forever enchanted with a mind of its own. From there, the Moondrop Springs served as the birthplace of Fairies, whereby the raw Emotions of Mother Nature, the springs, and the fairies in tandem naturally evolved into the fantastical forest seen today.”
Visit the Mossveil Fairy Hub or use a bookcase to Research How to Become Non-Occult, Ask How to Become Non-Occult social interaction. Your Sim will need to acquire a Magical Seed to Summon Mother Nature. They can get these from other Fairy Sims with the Ask for Fairy Seedling social interaction, Foraging, or at a Fairy Ring after completing the Rise and Shine Fable. Plant the seed, and Mother Nature will appear, giving you the option to Ask to Remove Fairy Essence. Their essence will be poured back into the Moondrop Spring, where it will stay until the next Sim wants it.

These are the top 10 Sims 4 quality of life updates we want to see come to the game. And by we, I mean me. If you disagree–leave it in the comments.
The Sims 4 Quality of Life Updates
Deactivate Event Notifications by Type
No, my childless adult sim that has been out of high school for years does not care that it’s Football or Cheerleading Team Sports Day. Yes, my ‘Hates Children’ sim attending the Festival of Youth in Mt. Komorebi sounds like their personal nightmare.
Three event notifications in a row on one day is too much.
Not every event will appeal to every sim. Not every event will appeal to every player. And let’s be real, the festivals don’t have THAT much going on during them that players are chomping at the bit to attend them every time they’re in town. The constant festival notifications are one of the biggest annoyances for players in Sims 4 and they have been for years.
The aforementioned High School Years Team Sports Day notifications are the worst offender, by far. These events are incredibly niche ones that players will rarely ever want to attend or even have teenager sims in their household to attend. However, these notifications still appear even if the household lacks a relevant teenager sim.
The worst part is, these notifications are aggressively loud. Much louder than any other part of the game. It’s reminiscent to how the volume of commercials blast through the TV compared to the volume of the show you’re watching.
These notifications are the bane of my existence.
Players have been begging for EA to remove these events for years, or at the very least quiet the sound effect for them. Yet they persist. As does our annoyance. Why EA? Why must we suffer so?
Thankfully, the Businesses and Hobbies meetup events don’t give you a notification by default. You must go to the sign board and enable notifications for each specific meetup type and it’s setup per household.
This is how all events in the game should be. With the calendar system now being a part of the base game, this would be easier than ever. We could opt in and out of event notifications right in the calendar as it’s displaying every event already anyway.
They have the ability to favorite festivals and events in the calendar, just tie the notifications to that feature. As it is now, the favoriting system only lets you filter events visually, not their notifications.
Sims 4 Needs an Ad Blocker
EA, I promise you, we know ThrifTea exists. We do. We know Cupid’s Corner is a great place to find love. You don’t need to remind us every day. My sims who are in amazing relationships don’t care that there are tons of singles in their area looking for love.
Can I get an ad blocker?
It’s at the point where it feels as though I need to install an ad blocker because these fake ads are more annoying than real ones.
The Social Bunny notifications are also terrible. Every time a sim does something slightly interesting or new it constantly bombards you with notifications about posting them to Social Bunny. I don’t use social media in real life because it’s exhausting, so I’m not about to impose that lifestyle on my sims.
The true MVP for allowing us to disable them.
But those notifications are optional, as they all should be! You can go to your sim’s Social Bunny account and disable notifications. Why can we not do the same for Cupid’s Corner, which is also an app on our sim’s phone?
I get that ThrifTea isn’t an app on the phone to disable notifications, but we should need to go into the store and sign up for their newsletter or something.
Stop Congratulating My Sims
Do not call my sims to congratulate them on becoming friends with their husband. Do not call my sims to congratulate them on their promotion they got a week ago. Stop calling. Stop texting. Delete my number.
I have never once called a person in real life to say anything along the lines of “I heard you and so-and-so became friends and that’s so totally cool and just needed to call and let you know I think that’s great.”
If they made these calls more personal, such as having an actual friend–not a literal stranger–call and congratulate my sim on their promotion and ask them out for drinks to celebrate, that would be great. If a sim called and said something along the lines of “So-and-so said you two hit it off and we wanted to invite you to a hangout with us,” that would be splendid.
But these random calls are incredibly shallow, impersonal, and oftentimes don’t even make sense. “I heard you and your husband that you’ve been happily married to for years became friends!”
The Endless Cycle of Grief Must End
To quote Keke Palmer, “I hate to say it, I hope I don’t sound ridiculous… I don’t know who this man is. I mean, he could be walking down the street, I wouldn’t know a thing. Sorry to this man.”
This monologue runs through my head 99% of the time my sim receives a phone call about a sim that has died.
My sim’s friend from high school who she hasn’t talked to since and she’s about to be an elder
My sims do not need to be in a constant state of grief because their waiter from several weeks ago, that they talked to once while ordering, has died. They shouldn’t care that the sim they asked “what fairies do you believe in” for a quest, and then never associated with ever again, has passed away.
This issue is exacerbated by how incredibly easy it is for sims to get to know someone else. I mean… townies are always butting in on conversations my sim is having. I don’t WANT my sim to know them, but it just happens because the townies force themselves to be relevant.
I’m lumping in the “[Sim Name]’s spirit is fading away” notifications into this conversation as well. They too need to stop. Just cross over already, I don’t care. I don’t know you.
I’ve never seen this dog in my life. Who are you?
I’m sorry to that sim, but I don’t care that they passed. And neither should my sims.
When a sim that my sim knows dies, they should only receive a phone call under certain circumstances. Is my sim related to the dead sim? If so, yes, call them to let them know. Is my sim incredibly close with them where they were best friends, they have a key to my house, they were a roommate, etc.? Sure, call away.
But for the love of The Watcher (shoutout to all you Sims Medieval fans out there) please stop calling me to tell me a sim that my sim talked to once weeks ago has passed. They’re irrelevant to the plot.
She’s so irrelevant to the plot that they didn’t even give her a name.
How Many Skills is Too Many?
I don’t have an exact number, but the limit was reached years ago. The Skills Tab is a mess. Sims 4 made it so the second your sim does an action related to a skill, they immediately gain the first level. It’s convenient, but also a bit much.
Have you looked at your sim’s Skill Tab recently? It’s overwhelming.
There absolutely needs to be some organization and some optimization done to this panel. Give us the ability to favorite skills and then keep unfavorited skills in a separate tab. Or allow us to filter based on different skill categories like knowledge, creative, etc.
Also, please give the Skill Mastery Perk its own separate tab instead of plopping it directly at the top. I don’t know how often people are checking which Skill Mastery Perks their sims have, but it’s not often enough to be sitting there.
Simology Tab, Point Blank
The Simology Tab exhausts me so much that I can’t be bothered to come up with a clever title for this section. Please, EA, I’m begging–we’re begging–please just clean it up.
We’re at the point in Sims 4 where the Simology Tab now has ten separate sections. If that alone isn’t bad enough, on top it also shows the sim’s age and includes two buttons to view their genealogy and their stats.
It’s information overload. It’s crowded. It’s overwhelming. It’s too much!
Yes, there is a mod that organizes this tab with buttons leading to different sections and moving things around. But not everyone can, or wants, to use mods, so this isn’t a solution for most people. I know they can clean this up because they just updated the Inventory Tab, Collection UI, and Notebook UI. It can be done. It absolutely should be done.
Side Note: Why is the Neighborhood Action Plan section in the Simology Tab to begin with?
You don’t even go here.
Let’s Get Baked
The baking skill needs to be made base game. Controversial, I know.
Some people don’t like the concept of paid content coming to base game years later, but I think this is more than necessary. Since it’s not a base game skill, having come with the Get to Work expansion pack, the Sims Team will not add, update, or change anything with the Baking Skill.
Any new food items that should technically be considered baked goods are instead placed under the generic cooking skill. It’s the same reason that you won’t find birthday and wedding cakes under Baking, but instead the Cooking menu. This is also the reason why they never made a smaller Cupcake Machine even though fans have been begging for one since Get to Work’s launch in 2015.
In this home we don’t bake cakes, we cook them.
While they eventually updated the baking skill so you can make some of the items in a regular oven, a lot of baked goods are still locked away in the eyesore cupcake machine.
Forever locked away behind that ugly eyesore
Making the Baking Skill a base game skill would clean up a lot of cooking confusion. A lot of items under the “Cook” menu could be added to “Bake” instead, thereby cleaning up some confusion of which items are found where. It would finally allow them to make a smaller, nicer cupcake machine, or allow us to bake anything in the oven instead of needing a cupcake machine in the first place. It would also increase the chances of more baked goods being added to the game.
Remember me?
It’s a necessary change no matter if it upsets a select few people. It’s also something they’ve done before, so it’s not unheard of. The Photography Skill, which also debuted in Get to Work, was eventually added to the base game so they could improve it and add more features later on down the line like they did with the Moschino Stuff Pack.
Can You Give Me a Moment?
Let me preface this section by saying I love having townies invite my sims places. I think it adds a lot of realism and life to the game. I don’t want this to go away.
However! Can you give me a single moment to prepare myself? Yes, I want to go to the Flea Market with you, but not right this second. Yes, I want to come see your new baby, just not right now. I’m in the middle of something, but if you give me five minutes I’ll be ready to go.
As it is now, if a sim invites your sim somewhere and you say yes, you travel there instantly. I’ve found myself wanting to say yes to a sim, but I was in the middle of something important, so I had to say no instead. I would love the option to say yes, but choose when to go instead.
Another option I think should be added is saying yes but not traveling with the sim. Sometimes a sim will ask someone in my household to go somewhere when I’m not currently focusing on that sim. It would be a great addition to the game if I could send that sim to the hangout by themselves without needing to go with them so I could continue focus on a different sim.
Let Us Make Our Own Stories
When you kick up Create-A-Sim it asks if you want to “create my story.” This feature is a questionnaire that then creates a sim based on your responses. The created sim will have a preset aspiration, traits, career, skills, and starting household funds. This is all well and good, if not feeling a bit completely random.
However, give us the ability to create our own stories. Why can we not, right in Create-A-Sim, choose our sim’s career, starting skills, and funds? It doesn’t have to be anything too crazy and could be limited. I’m not asking to start with every skill already at level 10 and a finished career from the jump.
Instead, I think we should be given a few skill points that we can assign to our sim so that they don’t feel so displaced from the world once in game. It would help with creating backstory for the sim or sims.
It could be like the personality point distribution in past Sims games where you only have a certain amount to distribute, so you have to use them wisely. If they’re worried about the game being too easy (which shouldn’t matter since you make the game as easy or difficult as you want) they can even limit how many points you can put in one skill.
The most important part of this, though, is the starting funds. Listen, we all cheat. Freerealestate all day, every day. If we want our sims to live in a specific house, we’re going to do it no matter how much money EA has them start with.
Can You Hair Me?
I know this will never happen, but it’s by far the weakest part of Create-A-Sim and still needs mentioned. Hair color. The system is bleak.
The lack of hair color options is really disheartening. We keep getting all of these great, super detailed additions to Create-A-Sim. The makeup sliders, incredibly in-depth tattoo system, the pet fur system, and now fairy wings. All of these fantastic additions just make the lack of hair color options even worse.
EA has added a couple of hair color swatches in the past, most specifically they added six new color options in 2021. They also added twenty-four new colors… to only two specific hair styles back in 2024. That’s not the level of the Sims 4 quality of life updates we want.
As it stands, we only have twenty-four hair colors that can be applied to all hair styles. Even worse, children and younger only have fifteen colors available to them. Why? Apparently, EA thinks children shouldn’t have unnatural hair colors in a game of make believe (except for in specific hair styles for some reason). Make it make sense, EA. Give us our creative freedom. Free the hair colors for children!
Unnatural hair color on a child!? Scandalous!
It’s also worth noting that even though we have these twenty-four base colors, a lot of the swatches actually have multiple colors in them. This is a nice change of pace, but also incredibly difficult because you have no idea what swatches actually house which colors. It’s daunting for sure.
How is anyone to know what the highlight color is per swatch?
I know all of this is wishful thinking. The hair colors we have now are the hair colors we’ll always have in Sims 4. At this point there are too many hair swatches in the game that they would need to make compatible for more color swatches or a color wheel that it’s just not worth their time or energy.
It’s grim and bleak and the reality we live in. Sims 4 quality of life updates are always coming, but most likely not to this scale.
But hey, they could always surprise us, right? Right…?
And there you have it. My list of the top ten Sims 4 quality of life updates I’d love to see come to the game. Do you agree? Disagree? Have another you’d add to the list? If so, leave it in the comments!

Active Career Days
As previously mentioned, active career days as a Naturopath differ from previous careers such as Doctor, Detective, and Scientist, since your Sims will be taking clients at home. Sims with various ailments will arrive, get checked out, and hopefully cured by your Sims. Taking clients at home is unlocked at Level 2 of the career. Let’s take a look at an active work day!
Your Naturopath Sim will need to start by inviting the ailed Sim into their home. As with previous careers and events, a checklist will appear in the top left with each goal needed to complete the workday. Your first job will be to ‘Conduct Client Intake’ and ‘Holistically Examine’. The client will then tell your Sim about their ailment which will give you a clue as to which ailment they are suffering from.
You will be given a variety of assessments to perform on the client until you have run out of options. Keep an eye on the client’s mood and its effects on their environment. Clients with the Greenie Meanie ailment may smash your house plants, while Sims with Sonic Sinuses will cause plumbing and electronics to break. You can check out our Apothecary Guide for a list of all ailments and cures.
Once you think you have identified the ailment, click ‘Identify Root Cause’ and choose which one you believe to be true. The next step is the most important: curing clients! To cure a client, you must craft the required cure at the apothecary table. Once the cure is complete, select the client and choose ‘Give Cure’. If a Sim’s ailment is not curable with an elixir (or you don’t want to spend money on ingredients), try using ‘Provide Emotional Regulation’.
Your daily pay for seeing clients will depend on the number of tasks you complete. While it may be more profitable to choose to go to work, seeing clients is a great way to boost skills and work towards your Sims’ next promotion.
Daily Tasks And Promotion Tasks
As with every other in-game career, the Naturopath career includes a set of daily tasks that your Sim can complete to earn a promotion. If your Sim is level 1-5 of the career, they can ‘Study Holistic Care’ on the computer for a boost in performance. They will also be required to gain at least 1 more level in both the Natural Living and Apothecary skills.
Naturopath Sims in the Apothe-Curist path will be tasked daily with ‘Studying Apothecary Cures’ and will be required to level up their Apothecary and Gardening skills for the chance at a promotion. Sims in the Lifestyle Coaching branch will spend their spare time being given the task ‘Research The Wilds’. Their promotion depends on levelling up both the Natural Living and Fitness skills.
When not climbing the career ladder, Naturopaths have a number of new interactions they can perform on other Sims, including revitalising their needs!

Step inside the lush green landscapes of Innisgreen and join me in unpacking the inspiration behind this fantastical world from The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature.
If you’re looking for a classic Sims Community World Overview, head on over to Bonehilda’s amazing article outlining all the new neighborhoods, lots, and hidden treasures in Innisgreen.
This article is going to be a little different… I want to review Innsigreen and start a conversation about cultural representation in The Sims 4. Obviously this is entirely subjective, Innisgreen is not going to be everyone’s cup of tea, some people will hate it, and some will absolutely love it. Personally, I’m leaning more positively towards Innisgreen. I don’t tend to prefer supernatural or fantasy elements in The Sims 4, but I am really enjoying the aesthetic and visual elements fairies and Innisgreen have brought to The Sims.

Innisgreen… in New Zealand?
In the lead up to the announcement of Enchanted by Nature, the Sims team did something a little different and leaked elements of the pack on a teaser website. There were certainly mixed feelings towards these teasers, but they undeniably created buzz around Enchanted by Nature. After the first sneak peek, Simmers began speculating where in the world Enchanted by Nature had taken inspiration from. Initially, it was rumoured to be inspired by rural New Zealand. These rumours were quickly squashed after the name of the world and its neighborhoods were revealed. As a Kiwi, I was very excited by the prospect of a New Zealand inspired world in The Sims 4, so I wanted to take this opportunity to unpack where the Sims team got their inspiration from and review the representation.
A lot of the initial speculation that Innsigreen was inspired by New Zealand comes from the Enchanted by Nature trailer revealing ‘Hobbit Houses.’ Enchanted by Nature added grass roofs! The new feature allows Simmers to plant on roofs and create homes that resemble hobbit houses. Although Hobbiton was set in Middle Earth, the Lord of the Rings films were filmed in New Zealand and you can visit a replica of the set in Matamata, New Zealand. Although this feature does not truly represent New Zealand, it led to speculation that the Sims team had taken inspiration from New Zealand for the fantasy world.
Rumours grew when Simmers noticed how central ferns were in the teasers. The somethingisgrowing.com website included a fern front and centre on the landing page. The logo for the Enchanted by Nature expansion pack is also a fern! Ferns are an iconic part of New Zealand. A fern is used as the logo for a number of sports teams including the All Blacks and the Silver Ferns. The ponga, or silver fern, is a species of tree fern native to New Zealand and has been a symbol of New Zealand’s national identity since the 1880’s. So it is no surprise Simmers quickly made the connection to New Zealand from the ferns in Innisgreen. The ties to New Zealand pretty much end there; however, with far more connections found to Ireland and Celtic culture.
Fairies in Irish Folklore
Fairies are deeply rooted in Irish folklore, making Ireland a perfect point of inspiration for a fairy-themed expansion pack. According to Irish folklore, offending the fairies could result in “bad luck and illness.” The Sims 4 fairies can use their Fairy Abilities Apply Ailments or Shift Another’s Luck, which feel potentially inspired by the Irish beliefs surrounding fairies, as opposed to the narrative in pop culture that fairies grant blessings or serve as a companion for lost boys in Neverland…
The Emerald Isle
In EA’s news article about Enchanted by Nature, the Sims team stated:
The neighborhoods of Innisgreen not only draw on nature and fantasy elements, but they also take some inspiration from the architecture and aesthetics of Ireland and Celtic artistry.
The landscape of Innisgreen is also heavily inspired by the lush green rolling hills and rocky coastlines found in Ireland. The rocks in the Coast of Adhmor resemble the stones from Giant’s Causeway. Ireland is nicknamed Emerald Isle for its natural beauty. Due to the wet climate and numerous lakes, plants flourish in Ireland.
I personally think Innisgreen is one of the most simply beautiful worlds in The Sims 4 for its natural landscape, glistening waterfalls, and chain of lakes. Ireland is home to a diverse selection of native and imported plants including many species of fern, moss, ivy, and trees. I think this is well-represented in Innisgreen which has an abundance of greenery.
*I am focusing on the Coast of Adhmor and Sprucederry Grove for the greenery, as Everdew is a fantasy world and not derived from real life.
Spruce Almighty
The Sprucederry neighbourhood in Innisgreen is said to be named after Spruce Almighty, “the community’s loving Garden Pal.” The name Sprucederry is likely inspired by the city, Londonderry, in Northern Ireland. The name ‘Derry’ is derived from doire, meaning ‘oak grove,’ which Sprucederry is known for.
The Spruce Almighty character can be found inside the Glaswood Tree in Sprucederry. This feature potentially symbolises Derg Corra, a character from ‘Finn and the man in the tree,’ an Irish text. The ‘Man in the Tree’ or ‘The Green Man’ is a myth connected to many cultures in Western Europe. The Green Man is often represented in architecture, particularly in churches in Britain. While this is not a unique character to Ireland, it contributes to the Irish folklore the Sims team may have drawn from when designing Innisgreen and the Spruce Almighty Sim.
Celtic Artistry
The Celtic artistry they’re likely referring to is the interlaced symbol featured across Innisgreen. This repeated symbol resembles Celtic knots which are often associated with Ireland and the Celts. There are many different styles of Celtic knots which are also historically connected to European and Scandinavian countries. Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be other connections to Celtic artistry or Ireland within the world itself. The four creators who contributed to building lots for Innisgreen do draw inspiration from Irish architecture and traditional English architecture. The creators all paid a lot of attention to detail and created beautiful whimsical builds, be sure to check out all the lots in Innisgreen!
Lucky Clovers
Finally, I wanted to point out the Gnome sculpture on the Coast of Adhmor. The sign depicts a gnome on top of a four-leaf clover under a Simlish sign. This sign could be compared to a shamrock, which is considered the national flower of Ireland and is often used to symbolise Ireland. However, shamrocks are significant to Ireland for having three leaves, not four. Shamrocks are often mistaken for four-leaf clovers, but they are not the same. This sculpture in Innisgreen is likely representing the luck system introduced with Enchanted by Nature and drawing a connection to the neighbourhood’s name, Adhmor. Adhmor is likely derived from the words ádh mór, which directly translates to ‘big luck’ in Gaelic.
Cultural Representation
In my opinion, Innisgreen is a wonderful and beautiful world in The Sims 4 and positively contributes to the rest of the game. It may not be my absolute favourite world in The Sims 4, but it’s certainly up there with the sheer amount of gorgeous landscapes.
I think it is clear that Innisgreen was inspired by Ireland, and there are a number of features in the Enchanted by Nature expansion pack which support this. Although, Innisgreen is in no means a direct representation of Ireland and there are many more tales from Irish folklore or Celtic symbols and art that could have been included. The Sims 4 is, however, a fantasy game meant to simulate real life, not replicate it. I do not think Innisgreen, or any world in The Sims 4, should be a replica of any countries.
Other Sims 4 expansion packs have taken direct inspiration from countries around the world, such as The Sims 4 Businesses and Hobbies which drew inspiration from Northern Europe and Scandinavia in Nordhaven, The Sims 4 Snowy Escape draws direct inspiration from Japan for Mount Komorebi, and Henford-on-Bagley from The Sims 4 Cottage Living takes inspiration from British Countryside. While it is great to see The Sims 4 expanding and improving cultural representation, Sims players have felt misrepresented in The Sims for decades and there is still a lot of room for further improvement in The Sims franchise.
Now that we’ve all had time to familiarise ourselves with The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature and Innisgreen, what are your thoughts about the world? Do you think the Sims team has done enough to claim Innisgreen was inspired by ‘Celtic artistry’? What would you have liked to see included? Is there a world or culture you’d love to see included in The Sims 4 next?
Solarpunk isn’t just a style of architecture – it’s a social, literary and artistic movement. Connections are made between community, nature and its all tied up in sustainability. My plans for Sims 4 solarpunk architecture will be no different, merely a reflection of the biome it’s in and the people it’s for.
Table of Contents
History
It is thought the solarpunk movement really began in the 1970s when environmental issues were gaining media attention. Science fiction exploited the motion and created media surrounding the consequences of doing nothing. The future was dystopian.
Then in the 1980/90s, Cyberpunk became a popular ideology. It was almost a warning of what was to come from climate change and growing technologies that would eventually lead to inequality.
However, phrase solarpunk comes from a 2008 blog titled “From Steampunk to Solarpunk” by an anonymous author. The post discusses how they were inspired by the MS Beluga Skysails which is a hybrid cargo ship that uses sail power to supplement the engine, to suggest a new genre that contrasts the steampunk movement. It’s based around the idea of conflating modern and old technology that’s guided by practicality and renewable energy sources.
Later on, Matt Staggs posted a “GreenPunk Manifesto” in 2009 which was his vision for a technophillic genre based around do-it-yourself technologies. His ideologies were much more focused on the punk aspect and less on romanticing a utopian future. He wished for social change and to dismiss consumer culture in favour of the environment.
These ideas became visual in 2014 when artist Olivia Louise broadened our horizons by posting concept art on her Tumblr, missolivialouise. Her designs were inspired by styles such as Art Nouveau, Victorian and Edwardian architecture but with a renewable twist.
Along with artists such as Louise, the 2010s saw a rise in writing about future world where instead of humans turning on each other in a Hunger Games style way, they worked together to repair the world that they nearly destroyed.
In today’s world, the closest to solarpunk architecture we have is Singapore’s Garden City. This was a vision introduced in 1967 to turn Singapore in to a city filled with rich greenery and cleaner air to improve the area for the people living there. It began with planting trees all over Singapore. The policy currently wants Singapore to be considered a garden in a city to emphasise the environmental approach they are taking.
Garden by the Bays, photo taken by Diana & Stefan on Travelfloss
In the future, we can expect more eco-friendly and environmentally conscious architecture to start appearing. Whether the world itself takes a more solarpunk turn, well, only time can tell.
Features
As solarpunk is more of a movement and ideology, there aren’t really any set features like with other architecture styles. There would of course be some staples such as:
Solar panels/power
Wind turbines
Greenery
Glass
Due to the nature of the style, it’s likely most of the materials would be biome driven. For example, hotter climates would have homes that were made from clay and tiles to improve natural cooling. Cooler climates would use bricks because of its insulation properties.
Renewable energy features would be prominent regardless of the area because all cities/dwellings need energy to power technology. Solar power would be common, particularly as solar glass is starting to be used. Solar glass is best for tall buildings with limited roof space but plenty of windows. It absorbs the sun and converts it to energy.
Finally, there would be an abundance of plant life as its synonymous with the style. In most concept art the buildings are covered in plants, made of bamboo or even made of hempcrete which is a biocomposite material made from hemp hurds.
Sims 4 Solarpunk Architecture Replication
So, for building a solarpunk inspired build I first had a think about the solarpunk movement. This made me decide to build a community inspired build. I knew I wanted it to be a home but then I considered the merits of building an almost city. I had a few goes at that but personally struggled to come up with a design that I liked. Instead, I transformed my city idea and decided to build an intergenerational commune.
I love both intergenerational and multigenerational living. I even wrote a 5,000 word essay for a school project and spent hours researching it so this idea appealed to me instantly. However, converting what I had in my head to in the game proved a little difficult.
I started off by picking a lot in Tomarang as it is a world I rarely build in but one that is beautful. The climate was perfect for what I had in mind and nothing beats living by the sea. So, I picked the 40×30 lot in the top left hand corner.
I then started off by thinking about the type of packs that I wanted to use. At the time of building, The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature Expansion Packhadn’t come out yet but I knew that I wanted to use some of the objects for the interior as they have a slight Art Noveau inspiration.
Example of Art Noveau style with Fairy Canopy BedExample of Art Noveau style with Fairy Canopy BedExample of Art Noveau style with Fairytale Windows
However, my main DLC uses for the exterior were Eco Lifestyle for all of the eco-friendly objects. I also used a lot of items from theWerewolvesgame pack as I wanted my solarpunk compound to have a slightly rundown look.
The actual structures came together quite easily. With a bit of trial and error, I got two that I was happy enough with but choosing the wallpaper took time. I needed to consider what type of materials would be realistic to Tomarang.
Tomarang came with the Sims 4 For Rent and is inspired by Southeast Asian countries. The climate in these countries is warm with a high humidity so materials like Adobe which are great for warm and dry climates are ruled out because of the humidity.
I decided to use a mixture of materials for my commune. I imagine there were the original structures and more were added on overtime which meant that different materials were used. So some are older and some are newer.
For landscaping, I kept in touch with the landscaping around Tomarang. Southeast Asia lies in the Tropic of Capricorn which means more tropical plants, rainforests and the occasional savannah. As Tomarang appears to lean more towards a rainforest, I picked plants and shrubs that matched that. I also included lots of palm trees as those are throughout the world.
Overall, as it was a style I was for the most part unfamiliar with; I was very happy with how it turned out. It was fun going out of my comfort zone and I’m looking forward for designing the interior for this unconventional home.
Conclusion
Building this commune certainly had its up and downs but altogeher I’m happy with how it turned out. This build didn’t just stretch my sims skills, but my imagination. It was great seeing a movement for the future that’s full of hope instead of angst. I’m curious to see whether solarpunk ideals shape the future for the real-world or just digital ones.

The Sims 4 Story Starter Kit: Magical Manipulation
Story Introduction
Could two sisters be more different?
Eartha and Ember were never the closest of sisters, despite being twins! As children, they competed against each other for their parents’ affections – Eartha, sly and sanctimonious, made a show of being well-behaved and put down her sister at every opportunity, whilst Ember, sickened by her sisters’ saccharine nature, was forever disruptive and trouble-making, but never untruthful or dishonest. Whilst there were times each of them wished they got along better, they could never agree on anything for long enough to begin build a bridge across the gaping rift that yawned between them. And yet, whenever they were apart, they each found themselves wishing to be near the other – like petrol on a fire, they fuelled each other’s flames and sparked like fireworks when they were together.
And despite their differences, these twins still share a few commonalities, such as their love interests….
Maybe it’s Rowan’s disinterest that makes the sisters like him so much?
Both Eartha and Ember are deeply romantic at heart, and long to find a true connection with ‘the one’. The issue is, however, they often find themselves falling for the same person! It’s no surprise, then, that their new household member, Rowan, has become the newest object of their attractions. This nature nomad lives in the twins’ garden, tending to their plants. An unusual fellow, he was insistent on needing no bathroom, kitchen or bed, just a comfortable, dry place to spend the night. The promise of caring for Eartha and Ember’s plants in return seemed to be more of an added benefit than a cost to him. Most happy when he is keeping to himself, with no other company than his plants, he continues to be blissfully oblivious to the sisters’ infatuations with him.
Sensing his disinterest in their attention, Eartha and Ember have decided to resort to using their fairy powers to win Rowan’s affection. Emotional magic is is very much within both of their capabilities and neither one will hesitate to use it! Their approaches will differ, however – Eartha plans to capitalise on positive interactions, fierce in her resolution that this is the only “right” way to manipulate another’s emotions, for surely the selfish outcome is negated by the positivity she sparked along the way? Ember, conversely, feels more at ease with the blunt honesty of using underhanded, selfish actions for underhanded, selfish gains. She plans to use her many negative interactions with her sister to fuel her powers and influence Rowan to like her.
And so, the competition is on! Eartha and Ember must vie for Rowan’s heart in their own, equally manipulative ways, whilst sabotaging the other and hoping that Rowan doesn’t catch onto their plans! Neither sister has considered what they will do if one of them succeeds in their goal and if this could be the final straw in their immensely frayed relationship. Nor have they discussed what they shall do if both of them succeed, and Rowan falls for them both! Only time will tell how this tumultuous love triangle of magical manipulation will play out…

Eartha is a fairy of water, earth and light. She feels a true, pure goodness within herself, and vainly seeks to ensure everyone else feels it about her too. She will do whatever it takes to maintain the appearance of a moral high ground, regardless of the actual rights or wrongs of the actions she takes to do this…

Ember Hawthorn
Ember is a fairy of fire, air and darkness. She knows this, and she embraces it. Holding up no false pretences of goodness, she unabashedly uses her mean and disruptive nature to get what she wants, regardless of any relationships she may ruin along the way…
Note: Ember is a Radiant level fairy, and already has some basic skills to aid her emotional influence on Rowan! She also has additional unspent ability points that can be invested in any other fairy skills you want her to have to help tell her story.

Rowan Greenstick
Rowan is a simple man. Where he sees nature in need of a helping hand, he pauses to give it the care and attention it needs to flourish. Never staying in any place for very long, it would take an immensely strong affection to cause him to remain away from the woods and wilds he calls home. Perhaps he will find such an feeling with Eartha or Ember…unless he catches on to the true manipulation behind their flirtatious nature…
Note: Rowan’s Hut on the Hawthorn Hovel lot has no bathroom, kitchen or bed! Instead he will use his high level in the Natural Living skill to relieve himself, sleep, and even find food from the nature around him.
Hawthorn Hovel was named jokingly after the small, not-really-a-house-at-all shed at the bottom of the garden, as if it were the main feature of the lot rather than the elegant house that stretches gracefully around a corner of the pond. Though harmonious on the exterior, however, it hides a tumultuous inside – the twin sisters who live here differ in many ways; one of which being colour schemes for interior design!
Hawthorn Hovel was designed to be placed the ‘Watering Hole’ lot at the top of Everdew in Innisgreen, and will look best there, but can be placed on any other suitably sized lot you like!
Lot Type: Residential
Price: §125,559
Size: 40×30

New Pack Ads
It seems there’s a new Animated Expansion Pack Ad. Displayed every time you open up The Sims 4 right before the Main Menu. I’ve opened up the game a few times already and it seems to appear with every single game launch.
In the meantime, I noticed EA issued two Updates for The Sims 4. Not to worry though, if you haven’t downloaded the first one you’ll only have to update once.

A Full Walkthrough to Earning Rewards in The Sims 4 Nature’s Calling Event Week 4!
The Sims 4 Nature’s Calling Event week 4 is here, the final week of this season’s outdoorsy event! Check out our week 1, week 2, and week 3articles if you’re not caught up, and for a full overview of each new reward, you can check out ourrewardoverview article.
Let’s take a look at everything The Sims 4 Nature’s Calling Event Week 4 has to offer!
Table of Contents
‘Echoes From The Cave’ Quest Walkthrough
Our penultimate quest of the event will begin as soon as you open up your game. I wonder what cave they’re referring to? Could it be the one we investigated weeks past?
You hear the wind’s whisper… it transforms into the form of Dhalia Fern, a vibrant PlantSim.
The wind has guided you to this moment. You’ll need to be adept at Handiness to unlock the secrets that await. Embrace the journey, and let me guide you.
Echoes From The Cave – Quest
After clicking ‘OK’, we are given our first 3 tasks of this week’s quests:
You’ll notice that one of these quests is optional. Owners of The Sims 4 Horse Ranch will be tasked with travelling to Duke’s Hall in Chestnut Ridge. This is completely optional, and there is no penalty for not completing it.
Firstly, I chose to complete the ‘Return to Desert Bloom Park’, which again can be found in Oasis Springs
We’re then tasked with breaking open the cave. To do so, we require Level 10 of the Handiness Skill. If you want to reach this level quickly, use the Handiness skill book rewards from previous weeks.
Once Bob reached level 10, he whipped out a hammer and got to work. Once open, click the cave and select ‘Explore’. While exploring, you will have a mini-adventure pop-up. Here’s how to complete it!
Welcome to Forgotten Grotto! Veteran players of The Sims 4 will know this location very well. For those who don’t, this is one of two hidden lots The Sims 4 Base Game has to offer.
Our first task here is to ‘Take Photos in the Cave’
Here’s the photo Bob took in the cave!
Once completed, we receive the ‘Share Findings About Forgotten Grotto’. To complete this, I sent Bob back to his campsite and shared this with Eliza. We also had to share this with another Sim, so I found a random pedestrian and told them too!
Now, back to our original task. Let’s take a crack at crafting the ‘Wooden Throne’. To craft this, you first must claim the reward in the Event Reward Store. You can then craft it for §500 on any workbench.
Once crafted, the next task will be to ‘Use The Wooden Throne’. Go ahead and place it down and give your Sim some privacy!
Once your Sim has finished on the Wooden Throne, you will be given the end-of-quest pop-up. Check it out below.
Thank you for embracing the journey, your skills have unlocked the hidden wonders and reignited the magic within.
Continue to delve deeper into the world of PlantSims… Uncover the secrets of their unique bond with nature and explore the magic that lies within their roots.
Echoes From The Cave – Quest
‘Plants Can Whisper?’ Quest Walkthrough
Welcome to the final quest of the event! It’s time to delve deeper into PlantSims and explore the end of the story.
The Magical PlantSim Stump holds the key to unlocking deeper connections with nature, Seek out the Magic Beans, for they will awaken the secrets within.
I will help you uncover the wonders of the PlantSims.
Plants Can Whisper? – Quest
Our first task asks us to buy the ‘Magic PlantSims Stump’. This can be found under the Outdoor Activities category.
We then have to ‘Ask Two Sims about PlantSims’, so click on any Sim you know and ask them. The Sims that you ask will gift you Magic Beans. Thanks Eliza!
With our newfound beans, we are told to ‘Plant a Magic Bean in the Stump’. Simply click the stump you bought earlier and plant both beans.
After placing the beans, the quest seemingly ends. No appearance from Dahlia, no PlantSim in sight? What a dull end to the quest. You can read my full thoughts below.
You’ve Embarked on a wonderous journey, uncovering the mysteries of the PlantSims wolrd. Each step brings you closer to nature’s hidden secrets.
Continue your quest by collecting Magic Beans from the rare Plant seed packets. Nurture your tree, and you’ll soon discover the Forbidden fruit hidden within its branches. The journey has just begun… embrace the magic of nature.
Plants can Whisoer – Quest
Week 4 Rewards
The final week of rewards sees one of the more exciting objects covered above, ‘The Wooden Throne’. Check out the rest of the rewards below.
Small Rewards
The final copy of the new magazine, ‘Touch Grass Weekly Issue #4′, will be added to your Sims’ inventory. Alongside the magazine are 3 potions to change your Sims. The ‘Sleep Replacement Potion’ will refill your Sims’ energy needs. The ‘Want Refresher’ instantly changes your Sims’ wants. And finally, the ‘Re-Traiting’ potion will swap your Sims’ traits in an instant.
The Wooden Throne
The final addition to the woodworking table is The Wooden Throne. This outhouse can be used by Sims to refill their bladder need… and some other, rather adult, activities!
Cove Stones
The Cove Stones add a much-needed addition to the lacklustre collection of rocks we have so far in Build-Buy mode.
Trail Sandals
These new sandals come in a variety of swatches, notably some dirtier variants for those Sims who love exploring the great outdoors!
Bonus Rewards
As with all 3 previous weeks, your current household will receive a total of 1500 satisfaction points, plus a hefty §10,000!
Closing Thoughts on The Sims 4 Nature’s Calling Event
As with previous events, I found some of this season’s Live Event a bit of a drag. Weeks 2 and 3 felt exciting, like I was working toward something special. I was expecting an appearance from Dhalia Fern herself, or at least one PlantSim. But no, all we are left with is two Magic Beans and an incomplete tree. Perhaps this was the team’s effort to reintroduce the long-forgotten PlantSim, what with the release of The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature. Players with the latest expansion will be able to find magic beans quickly by asking PlantSims in Everdew for a magic bean, but players without the pack may struggle with this task.
I was excited by the rewards, as a few of them felt unique, and I’m sure many players will enjoy the addition of a rustic outhouse at least. Let’s hope the next Live Event will offer a more exciting story!

Take A Look At The Communities’ First Reactions To The Latest Expansion Pack
Almost a week after the expansion pack’s release date, The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature impressions and community reactions are in. Simmers everywhere have shared their thoughts online, both good and bad. Let’s see what you all had to say!
Table of Contents
Simmers are Buy and Build Mode Obsessed
Fairy cottages and hobbit-holes are the stars of The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature, with Simmers and Creators alike flocking to the new Build and Buy Mode objects. The new roof and wall coverings are appearing in screenshots across social media, and the landscaping is being used to create magnificent builds.
The added ability to clip trees onto roofs and the addition of other whimsical roofing items are inspiring builders to design intricate hobbit-holes, letting your Sims look and feel like they truly live in nature. While most of the builds are fantasy-focused right now, we can’t wait to see what other ways the community puts these new features to use.
New Scenarios, Gameplay, and More
Fairies, Apothecary, and Natural Living all open up a world of new scenarios and gameplay possibilities. Fellow A Court of Thorns and Roses (ACOTAR) fans are loving this pack because they can now play out their favorite Night Court scenarios, and maybe even have their Simself join the Court.
When it comes to the Natural Living Skill, many Rags-to-Riches Challenge fans are enjoying the new interactions and enhanced gameplay this skill provides. As they increase this skill, our Sims have to rely even less on Plumbing and Appliances, which adds some authenticity to the challenge. Sims can now sleep outside, bathe in ponds, and more to let them live off the land.
Other Simmers have shared their impressions on the Fables and Lore included in the game, and love the extra detail these bring. Another plus for the expansion pack!
Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature Impressions- A bit Lacklustre?
While many players seem to think the new pack lives up to the hype, others believe differently. The most common negative sentiment across social media was that this pack is lacklustre. Simmers have stated they thought there would be more that came along with the pack, particularly within Create a Sim (CAS), seeing as previous packs brought a lot to the game. This leads some players to feel underwhelmed.
Another common online critique was that features like Fairy Needs, the Luck andBalance systems, and Gnomes make the game a bit too easy at times. The Luck and Balance systems make it very easy for your Sim to achieve their goals, and Gnomes can be too helpful around the house. Fairy Sims have fewer Needs than non-occult Sims and more interactions to quickly solve their Needs through Fairy Abilities. Simmers have often found that they don’t even need to build a full house for their Fairy’s Needs to be met.
Some members of the community think this can take some fun out of the game, and definitely impacts the viral Rags-to-Riches Challenge.
Asking for a Change
Leading up to the release, The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature expansion pack was met with mixed impressions, and this has not changed much. The Sims 4 gameplay became unexpectedly buggy, preventing Sims from taking pregnancy tests, disposing of trash and dishes properly, and more. Understandably, this made some Simmers hesitant about the new pack. Across social media, it is still common to see Simmers begging for a fix. Many are asking The Sims to dedicate more resources to fixing bugs before coming out with more content for purchase.
Many players have noted that they wish they could toggle the Ailments feature off, since this setting is not yet available in Gameplay Settings and really impacts day-to-day gameplay. This feature is turning some Simmers off from the pack altogether.
Another common ask we’ve been noticing online since the addition of Fairies in The Sims 4 is along the lines of, “please update Mermaids next!”. Since Mermaids were added to the game in 2019, Simmers have been pining for more. In The Sims 3, these Occult Sims seemed more detailed and thought out, and the community is hoping for an update to bring Mermaids back to their prime.
Expect fixes for pregnancy in tomorrow’s Sims 4 Patch drop.
The Community Manager for The Sims has made an announcement through The Sims Discord that there’s going to be a new Sims 4 Fix Update coming tomorrow.
The precise details of this Patch are expected to be revealed with the patch drop, but you should expect fixes for pregnancy tests as stated in the message.
The team also clarified that they’re working on tuning settings for the ailments feature in The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature Expansion Pack. With more information to follow soon.
Sims 4 Fix Update Announcement
Tomorrow, a patch for The Sims 4 will be released, reverting the changes made to pregnancy to resolve the issues reported after the July 1st update. Thank you for your patience and for reporting to the EA Forums.
We are also investigating the reports & tuning settings for ailments. In the meantime, you can reduce the frequency of ailments via the “Enable Balance & Imbalance” toggle in the “Game Options” and “Pack Settings” section of The Sims 4.
Have you been holding back from updating and playing with The Sims 4? Let’s wait and see if the Patch is stabile enough to bring some improvements!
Fables in The Sims 4 are a new type of quest that will have you exploring the world of Innisgreen and all of the magic it has to offer. Read below to find out where to find these fables, how to complete them, and your rewards for doing so.

Fables in The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature
Warning: As this is a guide, there are spoilers aplenty below. If you wish to discover things on your own involving the Fables in The Sims 4, do not continue reading. If you’re like me and you hate surprises, read on down.
Where to Start
Before you can begin on the journey of Fables in The Sims 4, you’ll need to know who to speak with. This can be accomplished easily by finding one of the Fable Boards. One board is located in each of the neighborhoods of Innisgreen.
Sprucederry GroveEverdewCoast of Adhmor
Have your Sim interact with the Fable Board, and a screen will appear showing you which NPC you need to find to be given Fables in The Sims 4. It’s possible for these Sims to age and die, so they may change throughout your playthrough. Keep an eye on this board for any possible changes on who grants Fables in The Sims 4.
Once you know who the Fabulists are, it’s time to find them to receive a Fable in The Sims 4.
Fabulists Locations
Aside from one, the Fabulists are quite easy to locate without any help. As the Sims can change, I will be using their title, not their names, in this guide. Some Fabulists give a single Fable, some give two. In total, there are ten Fables in The Sims 4.
Everdew
Mystical Fairy – The Mystical Fairy is located next to the Fable Board in this neighborhood. If they are not currently there, spend some time doing other things and come back a bit later.
Fairy Council Liaison – The Fairy Council Liaison can be found outside the Mossveil Fairy Hub. Like above, if they’re not currently there, give it some time; they may be off sleeping.
Sprucederry Grove
Apothecary Vendor – As expected by the name, you can find this sim tending the apothecary stall from 8 am – 7 pm every day.
Tradesperson – As with the Mystical Fairy, the Tradesperson can be found beside the Fable Board of this neighborhood and the Fable Board in the Coast of Adhmor.
Garden Pal – The only slightly tricky Fabulist to find. You will need to locate the Glaswood tree and summon the Garden Pal before he appears in the world. Keep in mind that he only sticks around for a few hours before disappearing again.
Coast of Adhmor
Gnome Enthusiast – Look for the giant gnome in the center of town. Beside it sits Gnum Gnum’s gnome-centric vendor stall. This is where you’ll find the Gnome Enthusiast from 8 am – 7 pm.
Tradesperson – The Tradesperson hangs around the Fable Board in this neighborhood as well as the Fable Board in Sprucederry Grove.
Request a Fable
So you’ve located one of the Fabulists. Now what? Why, request a Fable, of course. This social interaction can be found under Friendly < Stories < Acquire a Fable. Each Fabulist has one or two Fables that are all unique to them, so you’ll need to find all of them. Some have Fables that are locked until you complete a different Fable.
You’ll be able to take on a maximum of three Fables at once, so if you’re struggling to complete them, you may need to cancel a Fable before you can start another.

Against All Odds
Fabulist: Tradesperson
A freezer so sunny, this cute Social Bunny, was bouncing along in the grass. She took a big hop before needing to stop and peer at a tiny young lass. This chicken was caught, in a moment of thought, watching Sims try out some composting. “I’ll bet you a grand, if you can withstand, competitive social trash-posting.” The chick said “For sure!”, they knew they’d endure, for their beak was good with collision. But to prevent damage, the chicken must manage a slow ‘n steady disposition…
Tradesperson
Tasks:
Collect Lightning Root Leaves – 0/1
Sleep on the Ground
Talk About Nature – 0/3
Walkthrough:
There are a few ways to acquire the necessary Lightning Root Leaves. The easiest and fastest way is to find the Wild Lightning Root plant in the Everdew neighborhood. It is located right in front of the Puckitt Hall residence. You can also check the Apothecary Vendor every day to see if he has one for sale, or buy a seed at the gardening store in the Sprucederry Grove neighborhood and grow your own.
Sleeping on the ground can be done anywhere thanks to the Natural Living skill. You’ll need to let the action run its course, though, because whenever I cancelled the action early, it did not count it as complete.
You can talk to any Sims about nature, but it needs to be three different Sims. The talk about nature social action can be found under Friendly < Small Talk < Talk About Nature.
Once you complete all three tasks, the Fable will autocomplete. You’ll receive the rewards, as well as being afflicted by the Emotional Void ailment.
Fable Conclusion:

But to prevent damage, the chicken must manage a slow ‘n steady disposition.
The bunny was faster, a social post master, and chickie was taking her time. But like a true flake, bunny needed a break, leaving chicken alone in her prime. Not long and with luck, the chicken had snuck, past the bunny’s number of submissions. And with her small speed, the posts to her feed, had won her the contest’s conditions. The bunny was stunned that the chicken out-punned an expert like her in this race. But the chicken was proud, and stated aloud, “Well, isn’t the egg on your face”!

A couple alone, sits off in the grass, deep in thought, not a care in the world. They won’t need a shelter, or toilet, or bath, they sleep on the ground unfurled. This natural lifestyle is one that they’ve earned, building strength to survive on the knoll. But hey, have you heard? Of the old urban legend? The one where the worms take control…

Deliver Foraged Apothecary Ingredient
Walkthrough:
Crafting an Enhanced Eyes Elixir requires Apothecary Skill Level 3. To create it you will need 1 Basil, 2 Lemon, and 1 Acorn. Basil and lemons can be grown or harvested in the world. Acorns can be foraged or bought from the Apothecary Vendor. You can also check the Apothecary Vendor’s stock to see if he has the elixir for sale.
Once you use the elixir, you’ll need to forage once and then deliver that item to the vendor. Once delivered, you’ll complete the Fable and earn your rewards.
Fable Conclusion:

This natural lifestyle is one that they’ve earned, building strength to survive on the knoll. But hey, have you heard? Of the old urban legend? The one where the worms take control!
See foraging, sleeping, a pong bath or two – could be any entry to danger. You start out all normal, but after some time, your system is filled with this stranger! Once stuffed to the brim with these wiggly friends, a Sim will start to transform. Their body composed, both inside and out, of worms will be their new norm. And should this occur, it’s best to be kind, reassure, compliment, and affirm. The most vital answer will be to the question “Do you still love me as a worm?”

Deliver the News
Fabulist: Tradesperson
There was once a man, built in physique, who relished a good love affair. He’d sprinkle his charm wherever he went, and many girls flocked to his care. But a woman in red did not fall for his tricks, and left the poor fella on read. So for this rejection, to his feigned affection, a plot he concocted was bred…
Tradesperson
Task:
Deliver Item – 0/1
Walkthrough:
Of all the Fables in The Sims 4, this is by far the easiest. All you need to do is deliver an item to the Mossveil Fairy Hub in Everdew. The best part is, you don’t even need to find or make the item, it’s just given to you. My first time doing this Fable I had to deliver an acorn. The second time I had to deliver a grilled cheese.
Once you arrive at Everdew, the Mossveil Fairy Hub is the big, odd-shaped building in the center of town. Click on it and select the option of “Deliver Tradeperson’s Item.” After delivery, you’ll receive your reward as well as the Creation Impulse Ailment.
Fable Conclusion:
There was once a man, built in physique, who relished a good love affair. He’d sprinkle his charm wherever he went, and many girls flocked to his care. But a woman in red did not fall for his tricks, and left the poor fella on read. So from this rejection, to his feigned affection, a plot he concocted was bred.
Soon the invite was sent, at a view quite pleasant, and the front door rang with a Bell. He put on a smile, the one to beguile, his flattery spread like a spell. She sure was distracted, by how he had acted, you’d think he’d gotten the hint. But that’s all we know, for that “innocent” bro had stated she’d gone in a glint. And no one could guess that this gothy mistress would go missing, like a rare gem. Was she abducted? An act she conducted? No Lothario had dawned on them.

Ly Waiting
Fabulist: Apothecary Vendor
Upon a full moon, at a Werewolf’s high noon, emotions were stirring down under. A boy had just met a creature to pet, but a greeting with Greg he did blunder. He went screaming away, telling neighbors that stray had pierced the boy’s skin with its teeth. But no marks were seen, the boy’s skin was clean, and the story was swept underneath. Again and again, that sweet charlatan would spin tale after tale about Greg. Now just wait and see, for his ultimate plea, was that Greg had consumed his whole leg…
Apothecary Vendor
*To unlock this Fable you will need to first complete the Be Kind, Unwind Fable.
Tasks:
Bottle Emotion – 0/3
Consume Item
Walkthrough:
There are several ways you can bottle emotions. You can bottle emotions at the Moondrop Springs in Everdew once every 12 hours. Fairies can level up their skills to bottle up their own emotions or those of others. Once the Mood Shrub has blossomed, you can bottle emotion from it. A more difficult way is by crafting an Emotion Stone at the Apothecary Station, but you need Apothecary Skill level 6 to do so.
Fable Conclusion:

Of course you can see that below the boy’s knee, was his leg which was perfectly fine. And the neighbors of Mill were no longer so chill with the boy’s constant need to malign. Then there’s Greg who’s fed up, with this pestering pup, who had bothered him all day and night. So when the boy came, there was no more shame, Greg decided to go for a bite. The boy sure did yelp, and he sprinted for help, but nobody came to the scene. I guess you could say, the boy got his way, ’cause now he had proof Greg was mean.

Not Mushroom For Error
Fabulist: Garden Pal
There once was a spirit, grown from soil and love, who spent their days tending a garden. The garden belonged to a mother of nature, who watched over creatures she’d pardon. Now, the spirit’s first error was insecure terror, and their purpose felt more like a chore. So attempting great power, their beloved flower, they let envy spread like a spore…

Tasks:
Solve Blue Mushroom’s Riddle
Solve Red Mushroom’s Riddle
Solve Green Mushroom’s Riddle
Solve Yellow Mushroom’s Riddle
Walkthrough:
The blue mushroom is located right next to the Glaswood tree. When you click on it to solve the riddle, it reads:
Blue Mushroom’s Riddle Enchanted not, a natural glow. In day I sleep, at night I show. An eerie hue of ghostly play, Instead of fright, I light the way!
What am I?
The correct answer is Bioluminescent Mushroom, which requires Lightning Root Leaves. Read the Against All Odds guide above to see how to obtain them.
The red mushroom is located across the sidewalk from the Glaswood Tree. Same as before, click Solve Riddle.
Red Mushroom’s Riddle I’m often red, with spots about. I’m seen in film to gain some clout! I’m a fungi, I swear it’s true, But if you touch, Grim collects you!
What am I?
The correct choice is Amanita Muscaria, possibly the most “mushroom” mushroom there is in the world.
The green mushroom is located just a few steps beyond the red.
Green Mushroom’s Riddle A Laurent chef’s awarded dish. A forager’s ultimate wish. Rich but not rare, the Landgraabs eat, but to the rags, a chocolate sweet.
What am I?
The correct answer is a truffle, so your sim will need to have at least five thousand simoleons on hand. Sorry poor!
The yellow mushroom is back across the pathway by the Glaswood Tree, straight across from the red mushroom.
Yellow Mushroom’s Riddle Come dance about, it’s time to play. Good luck or bad, we’re here to stay. A portal to a fairy land? Or toadstool spores’ outward expand?
What am I?
The correct answer for this one is A Fairy Ring, so you need to either become a fairy or have discovered anything about Innisgreen that is logged in your notebook. If you’ve been following this guide, you’ll have plenty of notebook entries by this point.
Once you complete all four mushroom riddles, the Fable will be complete and you’ll earn your rewards.
Fable Conclusion:
There once was a spirit, grown from soil and love, who spent their days tending a garden. The garden belonged to a mother of nature, who watched over creatures she’d pardon. Now, the spirit’s first error was insecure terror, and their purpose felt more like a chore. So attempting great power, their beloved flower, they let envy spread like a spore.
The spirit pursued sprouts of imitation, but never accomplished pure life. They could not achieve the maiden’s prestige, their projects just ended in strife. Lost in the sauce, the power they sought, was one that could not be discerned. And a fellow once mellow, went full green from yellow, regarding the lover they spurned.
Soon one day enraged by modernity’s claim, their Gnomes came straight to defend. They descend upon the village town’s lawn, seeking justice for their dear friend. A war did break out, and at first it was thought that greenery could be preserved. But this battle they fought, would soon be found fraught, as failure was what they deserved. And so from betrayal, the maiden did leave. The spirit now all on their own. But with their good deeds the spirit believes her heart will be theirs once they’ve grown.

There once stood a Gnome, taller than a throne, who lost what was once so dear. Away to his garden, the walls he did harden, secluded alone and in fear. The children came quick, for the Gnome they had kicked had locked himself far from their feet. But due to the walls, his plants he enthralled, had withered and died from no heat. So could such a Sim, hear a simple man’s whim, to waken the beast from within? I’ll send you along, you won’t need a song. Just simply show them compassion…

Tasks:
Obtain Fairy Dust – 0/1
Wake the Great Gnome Statue
Soothe the Great Gnome
Walkthrough:
Quite a few ways exist to obtain fairy dust. If your sim is a fairy, they can either brush it off of themselves or go to the Mossveil Fairy Hub for rations. Non-fairy sims can ask a fairy sim for some or collect it from a fairy house. Fairy dust can also be found while foraging in Innisgreen.
Once you’ve obtained the fairy dust, you’ll need to find the giant gnome in the center of the Coast of Adhmor. It’s right beside where you got the Fable from the Gnome Enthusiast. You can’t miss it. Once you click on the gnome to wake him, you’ll need to click on him again and choose to soothe him.
Once you finish these tasks, the Fable is completed, and you’ll earn the rewards.

Two gardens sat fine, across the yard line, of two neighbors who varied in skill. One garden grew tall, with crops ready for fall, and the other was withered and ill. Now that neighbor in need, did not care to weed, and put all the blame on the other. And the cause of their doubt, to the garden’s clear drought, were pixies that came in to smother…

The deliver interaction can sometimes be difficult to find. It’s under Friendly > Stories > Deliver Item.

They must have been drawn, towards the neighboring lawn, after soaking up all of the dust. But pixies were present at this garden so pleasant, so the neighbor’s big lie was a bust. Yet still they denied that their garden had died from their fatal lack of care. All of their hard work was something to shirk, and come winter their pantry was bare.

Rise and Shine
Fabulist: Gnome Enthusiast
Down by a Creek, alongside a road, sat a house like a true short stack. The man who resides, was searching for guides, to fixing his marriage which was wack. So during the day, he decided to stay and clean up the house–make it shine! But after an hour, he took a long shower, and stated the mess should be fine. Then deep in the night, from sparkle or might, the house was made all neat and clean. And when they awoke, that syrupy bloke took credit for scrubbing the scene…

Tasks:
Ask Sims about Their Fairy Beliefs – 0/8
Find the Fairy Ring
Claim a Fairy Belief
Walkthrough:
You’ll need to talk to eight different Sims to find out what type of fairies they believe in. This social is found under Friendly < Interests < What Fairies Do You Believe In. Each Sim will tell you a different type of fairy that they believe in, and you’ll unlock a notebook entry for each one. The Sims you ask must currently be in Innisgreen, and they can’t be occult Sims.
Fairy Belief
Lore
Bereginy
They live in the liminal zones, where water meets land, and conduct their business in secret.
Dryads
They’re forest fairies who protect the woodlands and only reveal themselves when angered. Luckily you can appease them with offerings…wait, who does that sound like?
Fair Family
At only three feet tall they can slip through secret passageways in nature. If you’re worried about the crimbils, iron can protect you. Or so I’m told.
Moss Maidens
Diligent weavers of moss who understand the healing properties of plants.
Peris
Ancient winged beings of beauty that only survive off of perfume. How glamorous!
Seelie
The light and the dark. The Seelie were once known to reward helpful Sims, but like all fairies they can be unpredictable.
Sidhe
They’re such royalty, living in castles out of sight, hosting lavish feasts and celebrations. The lack of belief is what makes them so small, but they don’t seem to mind. Be careful if you hear one wailing though, ok?
Yumboes
Two feet tall with silvan hair, they come out to dance in the moonlight. An invite to one of their magnificent feasts would be a milestone for sure!
After finding out eight different Sims’ fairy beliefs, you’ll be tasked with finding the Fairy Ring. This is located in the Sprucederry Grove neighborhood. It’s on a slight hill right outside Gringle’s bar. You’ll need to click the “Hmmm?” option once, and then your next task will appear.
Clicking on the Fairy Ring again will give you the option to claim a fairy belief. You will then get to select one of the eight options that you learned from the other Sims. Your choice will change the outcome, with each option giving you something different.
Fear not, however, you won’t miss out on anything. After some time has passed, you can return to the Fairy Ring and choose to believe in something else for the other rewards.

This went on for days, he got so much praise, their marriage had started to mend. But cake-man was skeptic, this ruse felt so hectic, he needed the mystery to end. He snuck down at nightfall, to see faeries so small, zapping his kitchen pristine. So he left them a snack, grilled cheese for the hack, for buttering up his dear queen.

Stubborn Misfortune
Fabulist: Fairy Council Liaison
A family who owned everything in the world had not finished grabbing their share. And these Sims you should know, up in their chateau, had money to spend without care. Now, Geoffrey thought schools, but dear Nancy thought pools, should become their next big endeavor. But they both had such pride and could not decide one just whose idea was more clever…
Fairy Council Liaison
Tasks:
Ask Fairy For Item
Deliver Item
Walkthrough:
This is another of the easy Fables in The Sims 4.
You’ll be tasked with asking a fairy for an item, which varies each time. For instance, my sim was asked to get a Freezer Bunny Foot from a fairy. When you ask a fairy for the item, they will charge you fifty simoleons for it. After you deliver the item to the Fairy Council Liaison, you’ll complete the Fable and earn the reward.
Fable Conclusion:

Now, Geoffrey thought schools, but dear Nancy thought pools, should become their next big endeavor. But they both had such pride and could not decide one just whose idea was more clever.
And so Geoffrey got sneaky, and Nancy got cheeky, their plans they both secretly smother. A password reset for the bank account’s net was surely to foil the other. But they could not expect the login to get wrecked, and now neither could get any money. So instead of rapport, they’re seemingly poor, and nobody won–which is funny.

The Ground’s Jewel
Fabulist: Fairy Council Liaison
Through mist or through rock, found deep in a cove, a land lived alone and in secret. And any reward that could be discovered, the Sim was allowed to just keep it. Now this place was made for all of life’s creatures, but nobody knew its true worth. Except Mother Nature, and her nomenclature, which states “it’s deep in the earth”. So go my dear friend, figure out what she means, and catch your reward if you dare. You can teleport, the travel is short, then find out what’s hidden in there…
Fairy Council Liaison
*To unlock this Fable, you must first complete the Stubborn Misfortune Fable.
Tasks:
Teleport To Sylvan Glade
Catch a Treefish
Walkthrough:
You unlocked a Starseed Teleporter from completing the last Fable for the Fairy Council Liaison, but there’s also one in the Everdew neighborhood you can use. You’ll need fairy dust to use it, so ask a fairy for some if needed.
Once you use the teleporter to Sylvan Glade, you’ll need to catch a Treefish. You’ll need to fish in the pond (remember when these were the only type of pond in the game?) until you randomly catch one. They’re rare, so it might take a while. Once you do catch one, the Fable is complete and you’ll earn your rewards.

A beautiful scene, fairies flutter and flee, but nothing seems like a big deal. I’m sure if you knew, you’d get Mother’s clue, and maybe that thing would be real. So it’s probably better to not know it was dirt – the thing you were trying to cash. To Mother it’s treasure, it brings her great pleasure, though most Sims would deem it was trash.
