The Sims 4 City Living: Announce Trailer
The Sims Team has released an announcement trailer for The Sims 4 City Living, a brand new Expansion Pack which is coming out in North America on November 1st and everywhere else on November 3rd!
The Sims Blog: The Sims 4 City Living is coming soon!
Via TheSims.com
From Willow Creek to Newcrest, your Sims have enjoyed life in the suburbs. The yard. The jogging. The large, luxurious houses. Don’t you think it’s time they move somewhere a little… busier? We agree, and that’s why we’re happy to announce The Sims 4 City Living Expansion Pack*, which releases worldwide on PC and Mac on November 1, 2016.
The Sims 4 City Living is set in the rich, diverse city of San Myshuno, a beautiful coastal city tucked up against the nearby mountains. You’ve never seen a city like this in The Sims! San Myshuno is packed with things to do and new people to see. Whether you’re playing basketball in the Spice District or meeting with friends after work at the Karaoke Bar for a raucous good time, there are new experiences around every corner.
Better yet, why not meet some friends and head to one of the new festivals? San Myshuno is full of dynamic street life, so whether you take a hot date to the Romance Festival, or geek out at Geekcon, there’s always something new to do. There are five different Festivals that can show up, giving you plenty to see from your apartment window.
Speaking of apartments, your Sim will need to find one once they move into San Myshuno! Apartments bring with them an assortment of interesting characters and quirks. Unlike houses, you’re more limited in what you can do (the landlord won’t be happy with you knocking out walls and building new bathrooms), but there’s a lot of gameplay found in the few hundred square feet of your Sim’s new apartment.
But don’t worry, not everyone who lives in the city is wanting for space. As you work your way up through one of the new careers (Politician, Critic, and Social Media), you can afford a stunning new penthouse on the top floor! Penthouses provide a totally different experience, and we can’t wait to tell you more about them in the coming months.
We’ll be sharing so much more information in the near future. Before long, you’ll know everything there is to know about San Myshuno, apartments, Festivals, and more. Stay tuned and pack a small bag for the city. Your first apartment may be tiny!

The Sims 4 City Living releasing November 3rd!

The Sims 4 City Living: Official Box Art Render
Behind the code of The Sims 4’s store page there’s a City Living banner with a render on it. As it carries the ”EP3_Vid_Header” title on it it means that it’ll be a featured render for The Sims 4 City Living’s announce trailer thumbnail, which ALWAYS features a render from the box art.

The Sims 4 City Living: Concept Artist talks about the New World
It’s only been a few hours since the announcement for the upcoming announcement (we know, it confuses us too) and a Sims 4 developer already took some time to share their excitement about the upcoming Expansion Pack – The Sims 4 City Living.

The Sims Team finally confirms The Sims 4’s third Expansion Pack – City Living!

The Sims 4: SimGuruDrake talks about recent City Life leaks and possible communication changes

The last 2 weeks were filled with leaks about The Sims 4’s third expansion pack – City Life, which, for right now, is just one big rumor with pretty solid evidence.
There hasn’t been any clarification on who’s exactly leaking all the information about EP3, but over the last few days there’s been rumor and speculation on Reddit, The Sims Forums and other social networks that someone official who’s working on the game is behind all these leaks. One of the most suggested and talked-about people who work on TS4 who could’ve leaked all this was SimGuruDrake, who was away on vacation during this situation.
When asked about if she plans to bring back the Ask a Guru thread that mysteriously disappeared, she responded with the following message:
NZSimm3r: I just wondered if maybe @SimGuruDrake … well if it isn’t time for encouraging the gurus back to have another try at chatting with us again. I think there are a lot of people here who genuinely just enjoy banter with the devs. I know they (the gurus) don’t have to, as in it is not part of their work requirements but I guess it is a little like what you said about old grievances having expiry dates, maybe it’s time for the gurus to put aside that past too and try again with the fans? Maybe?
SimGuruDrake: Considering all that has occurred while I was away I highly doubt that will be happening again any time soon. I tried with my Ask a Guru thread to at least get things started, but as they say: One spoiled apple can ruin the bunch. So don’t be surprised if communications change and become more strict (and while I was blissfully unaware of things that occurred while I was away until I got back that doesn’t mean I’m not disappointed in how the community has reacted.)
I think everyone is aware of what I mean in the bolded part with regards to some making comments in different threads (joking or not) that I would risk my job to pull the stunt that happened while I was away last week. When I say “blissfully unaware” I mean that I literally was not aware of anything Sims related for a good portion of my vacation but when I was pulled from my vacation to handle a situation and was then informed about things happening and I saw how not only fan sites but the community was reacting I was very disappointed.
I absolutely, and with zero input from any of the teams I work with, opened up the Ask a Guru thread to try and alleviate player concerns and while I was away things and decisions happened that were out of my control. When I created the thread it was 100% sincere to try and create some kind of bridge to bring us all together. I am a huge advocate for community engagement and I am a huge advocate of this community. But when things happen while I am away I have to respect decisions that are made when I get back and just work towards getting things back to a good place. The thread not being opened now doesn’t mean it won’t ever open again or that communications will never open. It just means that, for now, things are getting a bit more strict till we get back to a good place.
The Sims 4 City Life: Better Quality Screen Leak (RUMOR)
Brazilian sims website Sims Center published a screenshot of an upcoming rumored expansion pack The Sims 4 City Life. It’s similar to the one we received a few days ago although it shows a little bit more with some extra details.
As always, anything that’s related to alleged leaks are classified as rumors until proven otherwise by The Sims Team.
General Manager of Maxis, Rachel Franklin, Has Left EA
SimGuruLyndsay has recently posted on The Sims Forums about an update to management at Maxis.
I have some important news to share with you all today. It’s never easy to say goodbye but today, we wish a fond farewell to our friend and colleague Rachel Franklin. She has decided to leave Maxis to explore new opportunities. We’re going to miss her creative spark, her infectious enthusiasm, and the passion that she brought to the studio every day. I can definitely say I’m excited to see what she does next and will be cheering her on!
Rachel leaves Maxis stronger than ever. We’re all so excited by the incredible passion we see from you in The Sims 4 nearly two years after we first released the game. We’ve proven to you our commitment to regularly providing new experiences, like the recent Dining Out Game Pack and expansion to Create A Sim, and that won’t change. We’ve got lots more planned for the months and years ahead that we can’t wait to share with you.
We have a strong leadership team in place at Maxis and we’re focused on one thing: delivering great things to you, our players. We’re looking to fill Rachel’s shoes, but in the meantime myself and all the other SimGurus will continue to connect with you and share our enthusiasm for the game and new things to come.
Rachel has since taken to Twitter to say how much of an honor it’s been to be part of the team at Maxis.
It has been an honor to work alongside the talented team at Maxis. Thank you for the wonderful memories! https://t.co/RnKZtCpcbg
— Rachel Franklin (@SimGuruRachel) September 9, 2016
On behalf of The Sims Community team we would like to wish Rachel the best of luck for the future!
