The Sims 4 Get to Work- Official Announce Trailer 193

The Sims 4 very much went back to the core Sims experience, and not all fans understood why you did that.

We were happy to see the things that people were recognizing about The Sims 4 that they were enjoying. You’re always sad when everyone doesn’t love your new, shiny baby, but I think we’re seeing people who justifiably have said, ‘Wow, this is a really, really cool foundation, but man, I really miss that thing, so I’m going to keep playing with that thing from The Sims 3.’ Or: ‘Man, I really miss this part of The Sims 2.’ That’s okay. That’s why we’ve created this big universe for them. That’s why The Sims has continued to expand. I am very excited about what The Sims 4 is because it’s a foundation that is going to offer us opportunities we didn’t have in The Sims 2 or in The Sims 3 that I think we’re really going to get to do some super cool stuff with.

And the first step in that process is the new expansion pack.

I’m super excited about our first expansion pack because it is called Get to Work, and it is about taking your Sims to their jobs. It’s something people have asked for for a very long time. I want to go to the hospital with my Sim, and I want them to be a doctor, and I want them to see patients and work on surgeries. That’s what this pack is about. You’re going to follow your Sim to the hospital and be a doctor. You’ll get to follow them to a science lab where they’ll get to be a scientist working on inventions and theorems and experimenting on various devices and what they might do, testing their potions out on other Sims.

You’ll also get to be a detective. Actually going to the police station where you can book a suspect and interrogate them or lock them up in the jail or going out on the town to investigate a crime scene and take photos and see if you can find your suspect. It’s actually about being an active part of that Sim’s day. Your Sims will also be able to run a retail business. You’ll be able to open up a shop and sell clothes that you designed off of a mannequin or sell some baked goods that you’ve cooked in your little café and set up an art gallery and sell the paintings that you’ve painted.

Site News: We’re upgrading!

7

Hi guys! Jovan here.

As you may have noticed in the past couple of weeks, our site became VERY unstabile. It actually got to the point when whenever I upload a picture it goes down for a couple of seconds.

The reason behind this is a huge number of visitors that’s growing rapidly every day. I’m very happy to have so many fans and followers but sadly, our server are not so much.

The new Server costed simply too much and we just couldn’t afford it. I’ve made a decision to speak to our fans and see do they have any will to help us out and what are their opinions on us opening a donation page for Sims Community’s new Servers. In return for their support, I promised some fresh new features that I’m sure our visitors would simply enjoy. The idea was still in development so I couldn’t promise too much!

Out of nowhere, a loyal Simmer named Thoddy (and I have to admit – I’ve never met him or talked to him before), has decided to help us out and donate (before we’ve even set up a donation post). I was so happy as some other people on Twitter and Facebook were willing to donate as well. I told him that we’re still setting up a donation page until he made it clear that he’s willing to pay the FULL EXPENSE of our new site server! I was completely shocked as the price to upgrade to a server of an Ultimate Speed isn’t cheap at all. As a person who never received such a generous offer in my entire life I just couldn’t believe this until he further explained his great deeds and the reason for helping me out. He sucessfully sent his payment and we purchased a new server that’ll be able to support lots of our visitors!

Before I continue with what should you expect from this Upgrade, I’d like to thank Thoddy for covering our expenses and for being so generous! If you have a Twitter account and you’d like to thank him as well, you can do so HERE! I’ll probably never meet such an amazing person in the near future and I’m glad he showed me that there are miracles!

So, when should I expect this server switch?

– In the upcoming days. We have a lot of media and images to transfer from from one server to another but I’m hoping it won’t take too long.

For how long will the site be down during the switch?

– 1 Hour maximum.

What are the benefits of this upgrade?

– You’ll be able to surf through our website without any stutter. We’re also working on new features that you should expect in the coming months. Although I can’t reveal much, there is one feature that I’m particularly proud of called SimSupport! What is it? Well, it’s up to you to figure out 🙂

Huge thanks to Thoddy once again and everyone who were willing to donate! We have such an amazing fanbase and I couldn’t be more happy to have you Simmers as our visitors!

The Sims 4 Get To Work: Gamespot Interview with Lyndsay Pearson

How do you balance what things are going to be saved for an expansion versus what you develop for the main franchise?

The focus of the base games in all the different generations we’ve done is about setting out that baseline experience of getting your Sims to live out a day, be able to make some money, be able to have a relationship. Really setting up those pieces of what it means to have a base life for you to play out. The Sims 2, with that notion of lifetimes, was about making sure you have something to do at all of those different life stages. How to challenge yourself at making your Sim excel, or purposefully fail, at achieving those goals.

The Sims 3 foundation was about that world and creating a space where your Sims could have an opportunity to go down to the bookstore or what it meant to navigate a space where all of The Sims are simulating all the time.

And The Sims 4 foundation is about setting that groundwork in the same fashion. How do we make sure there’s a way to make money for your Sims? A way for them to excel and progress? A way for them to tell really interesting stories about who they are and who they met and how all those Sims interact? When we evaluate whether something’s an expansion content or not, it has to do with that core of setting up that foundation. When you look at some of the things we’ve done with expansions in the past, we put in things like dance speheres or vampires. And those aren’t really things you run into in your traditional day-in-the-life, and that’s a great opportunity for us through expansions or game packs to give you a very themed and flavorful new slice of life.
