The Sims Team has released a new clip for The Sims 4 City Living, showing off the new Political Career!
The Sims Blog: New Careers in The Sims 4 City Living Send You Out on Assignments
Via TheSims.com!
In The Sims™4 City Living* Expansion Pack, we didn’t want San Myshuno to just be a place of new activity, but also one of new opportunities for your Sims. After all, how else will your Sims claw their way out of a crummy starter apartment and into that amazing penthouse they’ve dreamed of owning?
The city of San Myshuno is now hiring for three unique new careers, each with two branches that add even more flavor and excitement: The Politics Career, the Critic Career, and the Social Media Career, and these new careers aren’t like other careers in The Sims 4. These all have new Career Assignments, which allow your Sims to step out of the office and take care of work tasks in the city of San Myshuno itself. Put simply, career assignments add more variety, more challenge, and more stories to The Sims 4 City Living!
Let’s start with the political career, where your Sim starts as an activist and ultimately chooses between becoming a charity organizer for good will and a cause, or a politician for that same cause. Activists need to get the word out and raise awareness. Their career assignments will send them to different venues to stage protests and promote their chosen cause. Higher level politicians can give inspiring speeches at podiums, like the one in scenic Uptown, to win public trust and secure votes. Charity organizers, on the other hand, know that money fuels causes and will need to ask for donations…or bribes, with contacts they’ve built throughout the city.
Perhaps your Sim is more interested in being a Critic? Whether the focus of their criticism is food or art, you’ll send your Sims to festivals throughout the city to sample fine (or not so fine) cuisine or review the local entertainment. If the palette is not your preference, you can send your Sims to canvas the museum to pick apart the fine works there.
Finally, your Sims might wish to become a Social Media maven! This career is all about gaining followers via interactions on your Sims’ computer. Conduct live streams, chats, and more to encourage others to follow your Sim and get your numbers up.
The new careers in The Sims 4 City Living are a great hybrid between traditional careers and active ones. On days when you don’t have time to manage your Sims, you can send them to work with a good mood and completed tasks to ensure a productive day. For those times you’re more interested in carefully managing your Sims’ story, your Sim can work from home. You can also send them on assignment to the streets of San Myshuno, and discover what the city has to offer!
The Sims 4 Playthrough: Succubus Life State Mod
I installed a brand new mod today which lets my female Sims become a Succubus. If you don’t know what a Succubus is, it’s a demon which drains the health of other men through romantic interactions (I’m not really an expert in medieval legends so you can refer to THIS page if you’re willing to learn more).
Anywho, this Mod is perfect for the upcoming Halloween season, since there are supernatural powers involved in this.
To become a Succubus, you need to purchase a mirror from Build Mode called ”Lilith’s Gaze”.
For this playthrough I’ll be playing with the iconic Goth Household – mostly with Bella of course.
There’s a small trick to becoming a succubus though – your female Sim needs to be in a Sad or an Embarassed mood. No worries though, I’ll just make Bella and Mortimer fight each other and eventually make them divorce.
Now that she’s Very Sad, she has the ability to Talk to Lilith on the mirror that I bought. After she’s done having a conversation, Lilith has offered Bella to turn her into a Succubus. You can accept the gift or decline it, but please note that after you’ve accepted the gift there is no going back, meaning that your Sim will be marked as a Succubus for eternity.
My Sim is a Succubus – now what?
Once your female Sim has turned into a Succubus, there won’t be anything special to mark your Sim’s turning point. Still, you can get creative and give your Sim a makeover, just like I did with Bella:
Now she’s definitely ready to take some souls!
You’ll notice some changes to your Sim’s needs. For example, eating will no longer satisfy your Hunger. You may get a small boost but definitely not enough to fill the hunger bar. Your bladder needs will be locked for good, and your Sim’s physical appearance will no longer change as they work out / eat.
As a Succubus, you’ll unlock 3 new interactions on other Sims:
- Beguile, which will put a Sim into a Flirty mood
- Drain Energy
- Drain Life Force
Using the Beguile interaction is the best way to introduce yourself to a Sim, as you’ll need a higher romantic relationship to use the other two interactions.
The Drain Energy interaction will restore Bella’s needs, not just the hunger need. Only one kiss performed by that interaction is enough to put your desired Sim into sleep mode!
A Succubus also has another, more powerful interaction, and that’s the ability to drain the life force of another Sim, killing him/her instantly.
After Bella’s romantic victim has died, she didn’t shed a single tear. Yup, a Succubus won’t react to the death of the person they killed.
She has now unlocked an option to turn herself into any life stage she wants: from a Teen to an Elder!
If, for example, your Sim is young adult and you choose young adult interaction, it’ll reset your count towards the adult age. This is perfect if you want to keep your Sim immortal for life!

So, what stories will you tell with the Succubus Life State Mod?

The Sims 4 City Living: Basketball Clip
UPDATE: The Sims Team has released this clip in english language!
The Sims Germany has released a new clip for The Sims 4 City Living, showcasing the new Basketball activity!
The Sims Blog: Game On, Inside and Out with Video Games and Basketball in The Sims 4 City Living
Via TheSims.com!
We want every The Sims™ 4 expansion to provide new activities for your Sims, and The Sims 4 City Living* Expansion Pack is no exception! We took time at the start to discuss which activities would be ideal for the city streets or cramped apartments, and we arrived at two solutions that we think are perfect for gamer Sims: shooting hoops in the afternoon, then wandering back to your apartment for some video games! Whether your Sim prefers multiplayer or single player games, we’ve got them covered.
Let’s start with the basketball hoop, which will get your Sim outside of their apartment and into the street for some fresh city air and athletic activity with friends. When the court is empty, Sims can practice their game by shooting solo, whether it’s 2 pointers, 3 pointers, or even dunks (if they have the skills). Sims in a particular mind-set can even dream big and pretend they’re playing against the stars in the big leagues. If your Sim is out with friends, challenge them to a game of hoops to see who has the best shot on the court. Be sure to wear your new jersey to look the part!
After a game of hoops, and hopefully a quick shower, your Sim can flop onto their couch to play some video games. That’s right, we’ve added a video game console! Many of us here on the team have spent time crammed into a tiny apartment playing video games with friends, so this is a story we knew we needed to tell!
Sims can play a series of games, alone or against friends, from some of our favorite genres. Your Sim can enjoy a sci-fi action RPG, a racing game, and even a collection of classic party games. The video game console looks great and is a fantastic new fun object to recharge your Sim after a tough workout, or slog at work. The video game console also supports the Video Gaming Skill, which will really come in handy for Sims participating in GeekCon competitions. But, more on that later!
Whether it’s outside with friends in the warm Spice Market sun, or tucked into a comfy sofa with a bowl of chips and a controller, your Sims have more ways to entertain themselves than ever before in The Sims 4 City Living, coming November 1.

The Sims Blog: Plan a Perfect Wedding in Center Park in The Sims 4 City Living
Via TheSims.com!
When your Sim first moved to San Myshuno, they never expected to fall in love. But, they met their one true love at the Romance Festival a few months later and after living together in a “comfy” mid-range apartment, they want to tie the knot. They could go back to Willow Creek, sure, but in the city of San Myshuno there’s a beautiful park tucked away that few people know about, and it’s the perfect venue for the ultimate The Sims™ 4 City Living* wedding!
To schedule a wedding event, you can simply use the Event Planner on your Sim’s phone. Then just send everyone you want to invite over to Myshuno Meadows and carry out the ceremony! The Sims 4 City Living also gives you several new options to liven up your wedding if you’re ready for something new.
For one, why cook when you can have food carts sell delicious food from your favorite cultures? Yum, that sounds like a tasty wedding. Just don’t let your Sims wipe their hands on their fancy clothes. Speaking of fancy clothes, the venue has a dedicated dressing room so you can plan your wedding outfits on the spot if you forgot to plan ahead!
Secondly, someone can bring along the new electric piano, which is carried in a Sim’s inventory unlike the traditional piano.
Finally, if you head to a festival, you can bring your favorite fireworks. If you don’t manage to get them in time, don’t worry! At the moment of the critical wedding smooch, the fireworks provided by the mildly fire-safety conscious park staff will explode. This makes for a truly explosive finale that guests and family members will be discussing for ages.
We wanted every part of San Myshuno to feel special, and this park is no exception. If your Sim finds their true love, consider this venue for their wedding!
The Sims 4: Day Of The Dead Challenge Tutorial
Welcome to the Day Of the Dead Challenge! This challenge is all about the Mexican tradition of celebrating your ancestors and the Sugar Skulls are traditional decorations for the event. In The Sims 4, it’s your turn to collect the ornaments and in return have the power to save a loved one from the Grim Reaper! (And also gain him as a friend)
What you’ll need to do:
- First of all, open your Sims phone which is located in the bottom left corner of the screen. From here head to the social tab and ‘Call Jasmine Holiday’.

- Jasmine will announce she’s on her way, look around your neighbourhood to locate her! The easiest way to spot her is that she will be wearing a jacket with a sugar skull logo on the back.

- Simply click on Jasmine and ask her about the new event, she will give you a full rundown of what to do. She will also gift you with a ‘Sugar Skull Display Case’ which can be found in your family inventory. It has a couple of different swatches so if you don’t like the colour feel free to change it.

- Next, you’ll need to find some celebrators! These are Sims dressed in vibrant Day of the Dead clothes. Best time to find them is around dawn and dusk, a little tip provided by Sim Guru Graham. They will look something like the Sim, with the face paint, below. (Note: A little warning, sometimes this will take a few goes. Just build up your friendship with the Celebrator and get them in a good mood. They will be less reluctant to hand over a skull to you.)

- The skulls get a little harder to get each one you collect, so don’t fret if you can’t find them all right away. But, once you have all 9 unique skull, add them to your Display Case and you’ll be able to ‘Honor the Dead’!

- Once you’ve honoured them you’ll be transformed into a wonderful outfit and gifted with the Golden Sugar Skull, now located at the top of the Display Case!

- Whilst you are honouring the dead you’ll have a bit more persuading power with the one and only Grim Reaper!

- So you don’t have to, I killed one of my Sims! (Evil Laugh) And sure enough, along came Grim.
- Whilst honouring the dead, my sim pleaded for her dear departed husband and Grim agreed to let him live!

- Since Grim was so nice, I decided to have a chat with him and found 3 interactions! You can ‘Discuss Afterlife’ , ‘Enthuse about Sugar Skulls’ and ‘Complain about Spirits’. Also, your friendship with Grim will go up very fast and I was good friends with him within 5 interactions!
- Another quick way to summon the Day of the Dead Celebrator is to visit a grave and ‘Leave Sugar Skull Offering’ They will then be summoned to your neighbourhood and you’ll be able to find them walking around.

- Hope you guys found this helpful! Remember, you can keep track of all your collected skulls in the upper left corner during your play time in live mode. By hovering over the blue plumbob with a profile on the right you can also check how many skulls have been collected by all the players around the world. Happy collecting!

The Sims Blog: Sing Your Heart Out with Karaoke in The Sims 4 City Living
Via TheSims.com!
Oh, karaoke. How we love thee. From tone-deaf locals, to undiscovered superstars, karaoke bars are full of wacky characters and fascinating stories to tell. We think that karaoke is the perfect Sims activity – it’s silly, it’s fun, and it’s coming in The Sims™4 City Living* Expansion Pack this November!
Whilst your Sims can have the Karaoke Machine in their homes, we’ve also built two new Karaoke Bar venues, Planet Honey Pop and Waterside Warble, for players that want to skip straight to the off-key, awkward moments we all want to see. Sims can also use the Karaoke Machine to build the new Singing Skill, which means there’s hope for us all with a little patience and practice! You’ll find songs from a variety of catchy genres, including jazz, pop, disco, and more. Even better, each song has a hilarious video to accompany it! It’s a treat for the eyes and ears!
Your Sim can sing solo if they’re bold, or in a duet if they want to bring someone else along for the fun. Tones and pitch will collide as multiple Sims try their best to harmonize. It’s delightful or painful, depending on your perspective. Honestly, we’ve never laughed harder with a feature!
Karaoke isn’t just about the singing; it will also affect those in attendance. Sims might love what they hear. Or, they might cringe and wither uncomfortably under the barrage of auditory assaults! The only way to fix things is to send your Sim to take the mic themselves.
If you’re curious what that sound is, it’s Planet Honey Pop! Wouldn’t you rather send your Sim there to contribute to the hilarity? The karaoke machine is one our favorite objects in The Sims 4 City Living and we cannot wait until you get to experience it for yourself.
