EA Confirms The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature Pack Title

EA has officially confirmed the title of its next expansion pack for The Sims 4. The Sims 4: Enchanted by Nature through a brand-new teaser website that has got the entire Sims community buzzing all over the internet. This exciting reveal, made possible with the new teaser website, somethingisgrowing.com, marks a rare and strategic move made by the Sims team, who usually keep expansion pack hints pretty low-key until the official trailer drops. But this time, things are feeling pretty different to us; more whimsical, more mysterious, and refreshing.

In this article, together, we’ll explore what EA has revealed so far with The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature and what it could mean for the future of the franchise. With the summer roadmap right around the corner, let’s dig into the growing excitement!

Something is Growing: Let’s Take a Peek!

When you visit the teaser website, (somethingisgrowing.com), you’re prompted to “take a peek” through the keyhole. Upon entering, players are met with an animated teaser: Tiny gnome-like figures giggling as they sprinkle golden dust or coins over a small planter. Though playful, the teaser has a distinct fairy-tale quality that instantly sets off the alarms for long-time Simmers.

Screenshot 2025 06 03 at 2.10.29 PM

What is particularly notable is the visual use of sparkles, garden imagery, and gnomes. These are all classic hallmarks of supernatural or magical themes in The Sims franchise, especially the gnomes. And now, we know exactly where we are headed: The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature.

Confirmation Through Simlish and Community Decoding

While EA has not dropped an official full trailer just yet, the teaser included Simlish text that, when translated using a Simlish alphabet chart, spells out the words “Enchanted by Nature”.

I made an English to Simlish Alphabet “cheat sheet” based off the Simlish mode on the sims y2k nostalgia site. Just missing the letter “X” as it wasn’t on the site at all.

So, what does The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature mean for gameplay? We don’t have the full feature list yet, but all signs are leaning toward a magical, garden-infused expansion that could bring back fan-favorite elements like fairies, gnomes, and new gardening gameplay systems.

What the Community is Saying

As soon as talk of The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature, the internet completely exploded with excitement. On Reddit, Twitter/X, Instagram, and Youtube; simmers are already brainstorming with possible pack features.

  • The return of fairies, a supernatural life state last seen in The Sims 3: Supernatural.
  • An overhaul to gardening, a core skill that has not received a major update since The Sims 4 base game launched in 2014.
  • New worlds, like a magical forest.
  • New CAS and Build/Buy items, focusing on natural aesthetics, fantasy clothing, and whimsical furniture.

For long-time players craving fantasy and magic in their gameplay, this expansion feels like a wish come true (so far)!

My thoughts on The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature

trestud9ph

As a simmer who has loved watching the franchise evolve over the years, this moment feels huge. Expansion pack announcements in the summertime is one of my favorite seasons. Even though I am not a huge fan of supernatural gameplay, I am excited to see how this plays out!

In addition, I am hoping for a complete gardening refresh, one that fixes existing bugs and adds seasonal plant effects. Essentially, I just want the system to be more engaging. The idea of talking plants is kind of cool, too.

What’s Next? The Sims 4 Summer Roadmap is Coming!

We don’t have to wait too much longer for more details. EA has confirmed that the official Sims 4 summer roadmap will be released on June 5, where we expect to see some more information on The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature.

Until then, we fans will no doubt be continuing to speculate, share theories, and break down all the things!

Conclusion

With the teasers of The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature, EA is breaking new life into the franchise with an expansion that blends the whimsical world with the grounded world. This teaser campaign has set the tone for magical, nature-inspired gameplay, and we can’t wait to keep you updated.

Dream Quests in The Sims 4 Leaked: Everything We Know So Far

10

With the official Sims 4 Sim Your Summer Roadmap release right around the corner on June 5th, 2025, the internet sleuths are hard at work giving us leaks into what we can look forward to. Rumor has it that the Sims 4 team is introducing a new gameplay feature: The Sims 4 Dream Quests. These quests are intended to help guide and inspire your Sims to achieve their lifelong dreams by completing goals.

Rumor Has It

Let’s get into the rumors, shall we? Last week, Simmer and Twitter/X user @lowpolypancake was doing some digging (thank you!) and noticed a bit of code in the most recent patch that mentioned something called a “Dream”. You can also see a line mentioning rewards for completing Sims 4 Dream Quests, and a “Sim family journey”. This got the conversation started.

The Sims 4 Dream Quests-Code, lowpolypancake

While we don’t know too much and nothing is official yet, thankfully, Simmer and Twitter/X user @lunar_britney followed up to give us some more insight and even a few screenshots:

Dream Quests & Their Events

After making their choice, your Sim will start a goal-oriented event that rewards them for completing steps along their path to achieving their dream. Similar to a Holiday or a Date, this event will pop-up in the upper left-hand corner of your game, and give you a handful of goals to work on. From what we can see so far, these events may be more geared towards new players, as they seem to include relatively simple goals like becoming a parent or earning a promotion.

These goals could possibly increase in difficulty as you complete each round, or these could be the only goals your Sim needs to check off their list in order to complete their Dream Quests. Maybe we’ll know more soon through the upcoming roadmap release!

One of these Sims 4 Dream Quests focuses on having a successful family through careers and aspirations, while the other takes your Sim on the journey of turning your house into a home through things like a Nature aspiration or being the best party host. The first Dream Quest even seems to align with the code above that mentions completing a dream and continuing a family journey! From the pictures, These two Dream Quests look like they can be completed through the Base Game, but @lunar_britney thinks there will also be some pack-specific quests we can look forward to.

the sims 4 dream quests

On the bright side, since this feature doesn’t seem to be tied to any specific pack, any Simmer should be able to play with Sims 4 Dream Quests regardless of the packs they do or don’t own! On top of that, expanding this feature with Expansion Pack and Game Packs in mind could show us new ways to play cross-packs.

I’m ready to see what other Dream Quests could be added to the Sims 4 gameplay!

Any Thoughts?

The Dream Quests feature would be an interesting addition to the game for sure, by adding another layer to having your Sim live a long life. Plus, who knows what rewards the Sims 4 team has in store for the Sims that complete their quests. Could your Sim earn new Traits? Extra Simoleons? Something else wild and unheard of? Whatever it its, hopefully this feature won’t just be an echo of Aspirations, Bucket Lists, Holidays, etc. and will actually give our cherished Sims a little more to life (and give us more to do).

Are you looking forward to the release of the Dream Quests feature in The Sims 4? Do you know anything else about this possible new addition to the game? Let us know below!

The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature: New Teaser

The past few days have been exciting for The Sims community, as we’ve been starting to get lots of new and exciting teasers, as well as some smaller details about the upcoming Expansion Pack, rumoured to be called The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature!

What Do We Know So Far?

Revealed initially during the recent official The Sims livestream on Friday, the next expansion pack, tentatively named The Sims 4 Enchanted By Nature, was revealed in a short teaser. This showcased the fairy theme, a highly anticipated theme and occult many players have wanted to see grace our games for some time.

The official reveal for this upcoming expansion pack will be on the 12th June 2025 across The Sims social media platforms.

Something Is Growing

In light of the fairy-exciting news, a special website was released by the Team. It had previously showcased some upcoming information about the new world, which is believed to be called Innisgreen and will contain three neighbourhoods.

Well, we have another teaser for you courtesy of this exclusive website for The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature.

It’s Time To Get Lost

In this new teaser, we are greeted with an open garden space featuring a lot of smaller and finer details.

GetLostInNaturalLiving Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature

Get lost in… Natural Living

You wake up under the stars and see other Sims meeting their needs outdoors without beds or plumbing. You’re hungry but you spot some delicious-looking mushrooms by a tree. Looks like you’ll sustain yourself just fine.

The image talks about waking up under the stars, along with seeing other Sims meeting their needs outside. Yes, that includes without any beds or plumbing. It also goes on to talk about your Sim being hungry and needing to find some food, although there are some tasty looking mushrooms just off to your side by a tree.

It would appear that these are nods to potential features coming in The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature expansion pack.

We also see our familiar Gnome friend that is a notable figure throughout The Sims 4 in general. However, could they play a different role in this expansion park. Don’t worry, we’re not talking about how they invade during Harvestfest, but could they be more significant or maybe just some new decorative additions?

A Possible Nod To Castaway?

Interestingly, though, this teaser talks about waking up outdoors, under the stars, and Sims meeting their needs naturally outdoors. Could this bring a new way to live off the grid with our Sims? Integrating features we’ve seen from earlier The Sims 4 packs in a way.

It also had us thinking about The Sims 2 Castaway to a degree. Finding ways to survive by using resources found on the land. Living off the land, foraging, and sleeping under the stars. Naturally, and like many of us, we have a lot of questions and even some thoughts of speculation as to what we’d love to see paired up alongside fairies.

No Gnoming Around!

With these two new teasers, it certainly has us excited! Not just because of the excitement of fairies becoming another occult players can experience, but also for our Sims to get closer to nature.

It appears that this new world with have plenty for players to discover when it launches. While there’s still plenty of unknown, we think it’s safe to say that this is exciting!

We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for more The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature teasers and information over the coming weeks. For now, let us know your thoughts on this latest teaser!

Inside The Sims 4 Very Veggie Legacy Challenge: A Wholesome New Way to Play

Searching for a fresh, fun way to fall in love with The Sims 4 all over again? Lilsimsie, a well-known Sims Content Creator, created the Sims 4 Very Veggie Legacy Challenge, and it is exactly what your game needs. With quirky rules, color-themed generations, and goofy twists, this legacy combines silly storytelling with a bigger meaning. This challenge truly offers a fun, creative way to explore legacy gameplay.

What is The Sims 4 Very Veggie Legacy Challenge?

TS4 x64 2025 05 08 21 17 35 767

The Very Veggie Legacy Challenge was created by Lilsimsie, the same simmer behind the well-known and iconic Not So Berry legacy challenge. Last week, she launched this veggie-themed legacy as part of her Annual Twitch St. Jude Charity Fundraiser (more on this later!), bringing a playful tone to a deeply meaningful cause. This challenge isn’t just about gameplay, it is about enjoying The Sims 4 in a way that feels joyful, silly, and community-driven!

At it’s core, this is a Rags to Riches style legacy challenge. This means you move into a lot, start with $0. From there, each generation is themed after a different vegetable. Each generation has its own unique colors, traits, aspirations, and goals that reflect each vegetable’s vibe. The overall goal? Have fun, get weird, and genuinely just have fun.

How the Challenge Puts a Fresh Spin on Legacy Gameplay

As a longtime sims player (AKA a simmer), I always find that a new legacy challenge breathes life into my game, and the Very Veggie Legacy Challenge is no exception. Lilsimsie has done it again with her talent for creating challenges that are equal parts engaging and entertaining. The legacy-style rules are grounded in story-telling, and yet lighthearted enough to feel like a game within the game.

TS4 x64 2025 05 08 21 05 41 217

Take Generation 2, for example, your sim has to wear an eggplant costume for every outfit. Yes, and even sleepwear. It’s weird, it’s specific, and it’s absolutely hilarious.

TS4 x64 2025 05 08 21 55 13 514

Lilsimsie continues to set the bar high for fun, playable legacies. Whether you’re a storytelling simmer, or just love a structured playthrough, this challenge brings plenty of laughs and surprises.

Why Simmers are Loving the Challenge, and its Meaning Behind It

Part of what makes this challenge so meaningful is its origin story. Every year, during the month of May, Lilsimsie hosts a St. Jude Twitch Fundraiser, a month-long campaign that has raised over $2 Million dollars since beginning the campaign years ago.

St. Jude’s Research Hospital, based in Memphis, TN, USA, provides free treatment, housing, and food for children and families battling life-threatening illnesses. Families never receive a bill, and the hospital is funded entirely by donations.

The Sims Board Game may be coming sooner than expected!

TheSimsBoardGame Stella

The UK Games Expo (UKGE) is the largest hobby and board games convention in the United Kingdom, hosted this year at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham, UK. With a focus on tabletop games, the event holds tournaments, special appearances, and demos of new and upcoming tabletop games.

Stella Jahja, Co-Founder of Meeple University, attended Day 1 of UKGE and got to play a demo of The Sims Board Game. Meeple University primarily focuses on creating fun and educational videos surrounding board games, how to play them, and reviews to assist watchers in finding the best tabletop games to buy.

The Sims Board Game is being created in a collaboration between Goliath Games, the company behind other tabletop games like “Pop The Pig” and “Scream: The Game”, and Electronic Arts, the publisher of The Sims franchise. While not every detail of the game and how it will work is known just yet, we now have more insight between Goliath Game’s listing for The Sims Board Game and Jahja’s video.

Needs Trackers? Aspiration Cards?

The Sims Board Game Goliath Games Listing

Per Goliath Game’s leaked listing for The Sims Board Game…

  • Immerse yourself into The Sims universe: create your character, build relationships, meet iconic Sims, and complete your aspirations!
  • Features unique components fans will LOVE like plumbob-shaped dice and “Needs” slider
Goliath Game’s Leaked Listing

The main focus of the board game seems to be modeled after one of the goals of the mainline series games from The Sims all the way to The Sims 4; Take care of your sim, fulfill their needs, and follow their aspirations. As far as we know so far, the board includes locations throughout The Sims 4, with the design being similar to the maps of Willow Creek, Newcrest, and Magnolia Promenade, but with its own unique layout.

Location cards we’ve seen in Jahja’s video of the demo include…

  • Foxbury Institute, one of the universities from The Sims 4: Discover University.
  • Llama Lagoon, which is a neighborhood in Newcrest.
  • Pectoral Fitness, the gym in Del Sol Valley’s Starlight Boulevard neighborhood.
  • The Blue Velvet, the nightclub in Willow Creek’s Crawdad Quarter neighborhood.
  • The Futures Past Museum, the museum in Oasis Springs’ Mirage Canyon neighborhood.
  • Thriftea, the combo thrift store and bubble tea shop in Copper Springs’ Prescott Square neighborhood.
  • Umbrage Manor, one of the premade residential lots in Willow Creek’s Pendula View neighborhood.

The player gets a “Needs Tracker” card and a secondary card with a lot on it, possibly where the player “lives”, a spot for current or completed aspiration cards, and a spot labeled as “Action Cards”. While the video doesn’t show the “Action Cards” spot in use, it does show cards with a list of actions and results, with the results depending on whether the player decides to “Go Out” or “Go Home”. Some of the actions shown include…

  • GO OUT
    • Travel to any venue
      • A. Lower Need
      • B. Play Card
    • Befriend Iconic Sims
    • Mingle with one player at your venue
    • Score!
  • GO HOME
    • Raise 2 Needs
    • Draw 1 Aspiration, Discard 1
    • Score!

A plumbob shaped piece is also visible in multiple shots, although its usage is not described or shown.

TheSimsBoardGame NeedsTracker

Because players have to take care of their own needs, each card lists consequences from whether they “Go Out” or “Go Home”, usually lowering or raising needs, playing a card, befriending sims, drawing aspirations, and more.

Cards labeled “Iconic Sims Move!” are also shown, with pictures indicative of actions or objects found in the game. They also include symbols that we see for different traits, actions, or needs in the game, as well as a description of the action. For example, the “Voidcritter Game” card has symbols of a gear, shirt, and a jester’s hat. The photo on the card is of a child playing on the Voidcritter Battle station from The Sims 4: Kids’ Room Stuff, with the text “Will you achieve a Voidcritter victory or a humbling loss?” at the bottom of the card.

The other cards visible seemingly represent iconic premade sims from The Sims 4 that you can befriend, with what looks to be a short description or goal underneath their photo.

PlumbobDice

And while it isn’t mentioned or shown in usage, we also get a glimpse of the Plumbob shaped dice advertised in Goliath Game’s original listing! While we can’t see all sides of the dice, the one visible has an open hand with all five fingers up.

Keep an eye on July!

the sims roadmap summer

The Sims Summer Roadmap of 2025, for the franchise rather than The Sims 4 specifically, lists “The Sims Board Game” in July but without a date. This means that we will likely see more information, hear of a release date, or actually see the board game released in July.

The Sims 4 DEI Remover Mod Explained: When Modding Becomes Malicious

There Is Prejudice Behind The Pixels With The Sims 4 DEI Remover Mod

TS4 363 FAM SCREENS 02 004 Large

I’m sure we are all aware of the so-called “culture war” that has permeated social media in recent years and infected political discourse. The world has seen a rollback in protections and rights for society’s most vulnerable. Here in the UK, the Supreme Court ruled last month that “sex” is defined by one’s biological gender within the 2010 Equality Act; this will affect Transgender individuals’ access to single-sex spaces and has spurred a wave of online hatred and vitriol. In 2022, in the United States, the Supreme Court overturned the historic Roe v. Wade, allowing abortion laws to be decided on a state-by-state basis, ending the freedom of choice for many women and removing their bodily autonomy.

This all stems from a fierce debate seen online. Many use social media as a platform or a political soapbox, allowing their views to be shared. While freedom of expression and opinion are important in a democratic society, it’s when those ideals have real-world implications that they become an issue. A common talking point online is Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (abbreviated to DEI), a framework adopted by many employers and public bodies to ensure equal fair treatment for people with protected characteristics. This is where The Sims 4 DEI Remover Mod comes in.

the sims 4 render

What Is The “DEI Remover” and Where Did It Come From?

The Sims 4 DEI Remover Mod was initially released in March 2024 on a fringe RPG gaming message board, but it came to wider attention when Daniellebuilds on Facebook posted about its existence to her 300,000 followers. The mod aims to remove anything that isn’t white, cisgender, heterosexual, and anything else that is considered to be part of EA and Maxis’ “agenda”. In addition to black or brown Sims from the game, the mod also removes all Sims deemed “too fat” by the creator. If that wasn’t enough, all same-sex couples have been changed to strictly heterosexual siblings.

sims4deiremover

The image above is from the original post on the forum where The Sims 4 DEI remover mod was posted. Notably, Celeste Michaelson from The Sims 4 Growing Together, a trans Sim, has been both race-swapped and changed to a Cis-woman. In the original thread, the modder claims, “Another thing I tried to remove…the afro hairs and body parts (nose-eyes-mouth) but I did not find out how to either”. It seems the modders’ hate knows no end.

Back in 2021, a similar mod appeared on Twitter that replaced the pride flag collection with flags bearing iconography of far-right political ideologies. This included a Trump 2020 ‘Make America Great Again’ banner, the blue line flag that was made in support of the police force in the wake of the murder of Geroge Floyd, and ‘Don’t Tread on me’ which is a historic flag that is associate with the Tea Party Movement in the modern day.

flag replacer mod

EA’s Response and Subsequent Takedown

Since the mod has been brought to the wider public’s attention, EA’s IP enforcement department has been in contact with the forum where the mod was initially posted, requesting that it be delisted. American news publisher Wired contacted the administrator of the forum, who claimed that the take-down was “An act of targeted censorship”. The administrator went on to include a copy of their correspondence from EA’s IP senior counsel Lisa Chin, who stated:

I write on behalf of Electronic Arts Inc. (“EA”). It has come to our attention that you are hosting material that infringes copyrights owned or conntrolled by EA.

Lisa Chin – Senior Counsel, Intellectual Property at EA

Despite the administrator’s wishes, the mod was removed from its original thread. However, once something is on the internet, it is never truly gone. The mod was once again reposted on May 6th on a new thread, this time claiming “fair use”. Unfortunately for the modder, fair use holds no weight until it is tested in court. The mod explicitly goes against EA’s End User Agreement under user-generated content (UGC). The policy states:

Do not interfere with or disrupt another player’s use of an EA Service or use EA Services to upload, distribute, or engage with content that is harmful or inappropriate.

All reasonably objectionable content posted, directed to other players or any EA employee or representative is prohibited, including content that is abusive, hateful, defamatory, sexually explicit, profane, obscene, bullying, harassing, or endangers minors.

Electronic Arts Terms of Service (Section 6 – Rules of Conduct)

The continuation of the site’s support of The Sims 4 DEI Remover Mod may invoke further action from EA.
Upon doing further research, I came across another site hosting similar mods. A few examples inlcude one that removes “pride g*oomer sh*t”, another pride flag replacer, and one that removes hijabs from the game entirely. EA’s IP Enforcement team has not responded to my request for comment.

The Sims Franchise and Inclusivity

Since the debut of the franchise in 2000, The Sims has consistently pushed the envelope when it comes to social inclusivity and player freedom. Unlike many games of its era, the original game allowed for same-sex relationships without barriers or penalty, quietly laying the groundwork for what would become a defining feature of the series. This feature is the ability for players to express themselves without boundaries.

Over the years, Maxis’ commitment has evolved in line with social and political advancement, even in the face of backlash and changing tides. The Sims 4, over its 10-plus-year lifespan, has made inclusivity a deliberate pillar of its development ethos. Just take a look at what has been added!

  • 2016 – Gender CustomisationThis landmark update added the ability to customise various facets that define a Sim’s gender, including pregnancy options, physical frame, and clothing preferences.
  • 2019 – Muslim Cultural CAS itemsSeveral items including hijabs for both everyday and swimwear, Kufis, and various modest outfits were added.
  • 2022 – Pronoun UpdateAdded the ability to customise Sims’ pronouns in the English language version.
  • 2022 – Sexual OrientationPrior to this update, all Sims in-game were pansexual by default, however, this update included the ability to set both romance and woohoo preferences.
  • 2023 – Jewish Cultural CuisineThe May 2023 SDX drop included matzo ball soup and challah, the latter being requested for little over a year by Twitter user HufflePom.
  • 2023 – DisabilityThe Sims 4 Growing Together update added both hearing aids and glucose monitors in a free update, one of the first major instances of disability representation in the franchise. Hopefully, there will be more to come in the future.

I could go on and on about the personal and cultural representation in The Sims 4, but that list would be too long for anyone to read. It is not perfect by any means, and the game still has a long way to go. Some modders have taken it into their own hands, such as Nando (@haus_of_nando on Twitter), who is about to publicly release his African Savanna world mod, a region that is underrepresented in the franchise as a whole.

sims 4 african savanna world mod fe

The point being, the Sims franchise has been, still is, and always will be a place for people to create the Sims they want, play how they want, and feel represented and respected.

Looking Forward

The controversy surrounding the DEI remover mod is about more than just one piece of user-generated content. It raises the deeper questions about the boundaries and ethics of modding, the responsibility of the IP holder, and the values that we as a community choose to uphold. For over two and a half decades, The Sims has thrived in embracing diversity and offering players a virtual space in which self-expression is not only possible but celebrated.

sims 4 sdx drop new recipes
The Sims 4 SDX

As the franchise continues to evolve and as Project Rene looms, the tension between creative freedoms and community standards is unlikely to disappear. But if history is any indication, the heart of The Sims lies in its ability to reflect, respect and reimagine the many ways in which people live, love, and exist. That is a legacy worth protecting.

The New Sims 4 Control Overlay for PC and How to Disable It

In a recent update, The Sims 4 introduced a small, yet noticeable change for PC and Mac players, a new Sims 4 Control Overlay that offers a visual guide to basic gameplay controls. You can read the full patch notes here.

The Sims 4 Control Overlay Menu in Live Mode

While this feature aims to improve accessibility and help new players navigate the game more easily, it hasn’t landed well with everyone. Some Simmers are saying it feels like Sims 4 PC is suddenly starting to feel like a console game (and personally, I agree! More on this later).

So who is this change really going to be for? Whether you are a new player to The Sims 4 or a seasoned Simmer, this article will give you all of the details on the new control overlay, how it works, and, if you want, a step-by-step guide on how to disable it.

Screenshot 12

What’s New?

The Sims 4 Control overlay is designed to act as a helpful in-game legend for players who might be unfamiliar with The Sims 4’s camera controls. Think of it as a quick-start guide, sitting right in the middle of your screen when you launch the game.

Here’s what it includes:

  • Movement controls for the camera
  • Rotation tools
  • Floor-level switching
  • Time controls
  • Wall view toggles

The intention is to provide a smoother onboarding experience for new Simmers. If you’ve ever watched a friend struggle to figure out the camera controls of The Sims 4, you’ll understand how useful this could be to new players of the game.

The Sims 4 Control Overlay Menu in Build Mode

Overview of the New UI Control Menu

The overlay appears in the center of your screen, displaying several floating control tips that relate to camera movement and view options.

Here’s what’s included:

  • Move Camera: Arrow keys or right click/mouse drag
  • Rotate camera: Mouse Scroll wheel button
  • Change Floors: Page Up / Page Down
  • Toggle walls: Home/end
  • Control time: 1, 2, 3, 0 (pause)

While it does not really change or interfere with the existing UI, it adds a visual layer to your gameplay. For new players, this can be extremely helpful, but for seasoned simmers, this could feel intrusive or unnecessary.

That’s when the option to disable it comes in handy.

How to Toggle New Game Control Settings

Disabling the Sims 4 Control Overlay is simple. Follow the following steps:

  1. Open the “Settings” menu from the pause menu.
  2. Navigate to the “Tutorials & Tips” tab.
  3. Uncheck “Enable help center icon & controls legend” OR uncheck “Show controls legend in the help center”.
  4. Apply the changes and return to your game.
Screenshot 13 1

Once these settings are turned off, the control overlay should disappear completely.

Final Thoughts

The new Sims 4 Control Overlay is a new feature that is designed to help new players more easily understand the in-game camera controls. It is a step toward making the game more approachable for new players, especially those who might feel overwhelmed by all that there is to learn about The Sims 4.

As a longtime player myself, I see the value in it for new Simmers, but personally, I will be disabling it right away. For me, it feels pretty unnecessary for those of us who are already pretty familiar with  The Sims 4’s game mechanics.

With this being said, there is still importance for accessibility features such as the Sims 4 Control Overlay. It feels like The Sims Team is trying to make the game more welcoming, and obviously, that is always a win in my book!

Let us know, are you keeping the overlay or are you on the team disabling it? Let us know below!

Get ready for a free, limited-time Event that begins on June 24, 2025 at 9 a.m. PST and ends on August 5, 2025, where you’ll need to venture into the great outdoors and hone your handiness skill to discover a long-hidden secret of nature.

The Sims 4 Nature's Calling Live Event Details

One fateful day, you hear a faint voice as you step outside. The voice is fleeting and is soon gone, as if carried away by the wind itself. Still, you long to hear it again, and so you journey forth to discover the source of the whispers. Your adventure will be rewarded throughout the Event with new free items such as The Wooden Throne outhouse. This new off-the-grid toilet can be the perfect place for Sims to handle their business out of doors, or even a spot for a little restroom rendezvous!

How Does it Work?

Open Live Mode with an existing or new Household. Your Sim will soon hear barely audible whispers in the wind, encouraging them to spend time outdoors and get in touch with nature, all with the hopes of hearing the mysterious voice again. As you progress, you’ll spend more time outdoors, level up your handiness with new woodworking recipes, and uncover the mysteries of nature. The more Quests you complete, the more Event Points and rewards you’ll earn.

The Event will run for six weeks in total, with two new and exciting Quests each week for the first four weeks. The final two weeks of the Event is a grace period, where Simmers can catch-up, continue completing Quests, and claiming their rewards.

How to take part in the Nature’s Calling Event:

  1. Make sure you’re online. Log in to your EA account.
  2. Enter Live Mode, where you’ll see the first pair of Quests, which start with a pop-up. In Live Mode, access the Event Screen by clicking on the Event Icon!
  3. Earn Event Points by completing Quests and Goals. As you earn Event Points, you’ll be able to claim new rewards.
  4. Claim your rewards through the Event Screen in the Main Menu or Live Mode by selecting Claim. Note: You must be in Live Mode to claim Consumable rewards.
  5. Claimed rewards will be available in Build ModeCreate a Sim, your Sim’s Personal Inventory, or the Household Inventory. Filter to view Event rewards using the Event Rewards filter. Find this under the Special drop-down in both Create a Sim and Build Mode. For more help with claiming rewards, check out our EA Help article.
  6. Each week, two new Quests will be available. Complete these Quests to earn more Event Points and unlock new rewards!

Nature’s Calling Optional Goals

Throughout the Nature’s Calling Event, you’ll have opportunities to earn extra Event Points through Optional Goals. These Optional Goals require you to own certain The Sims 4™ Expansion Packs in order to complete them. But fret not! None of these goals are required to complete the Nature’s Calling Quests and all non-consumable rewards will be earnable by all Simmers. Completing these goals will simply award bonus Event Points, allowing you to unlock rewards slightly faster and claim additional consumable rewards. These Optional Goals will be clearly denoted in the Quest panel.

Note: Simmers who own the featured Expansion Packs will not be required to complete Option Goals in order to complete Quests. However, if all of the Required Goals for a Quest are completed prior to the completion of an Optional Goal, the Quest will be completed, and the Optional Goal will be lost, along with its associated Event Points. We recommend that Simmers prioritize the Optional Goals first before moving on to the Required Goals for a Quest.

Expansion Packs featured in the Nature’s Calling Event Optional Goals include:

  • The Sims™ 4 Cats & Dogs
  • The Sims™ 4 Snowy Escape
  • The Sims™ 4 Horse Ranch Expansion Pack
  • The Sims™ 4 Lovestruck

FAQ

Do I need to log in to my EA account?

A: Yes, by logging into your EA account, you save your Event progress and the rewards you earn from this Event to the account. That way, if you ever need to install The Sims 4 again, you simply need to log back in to gain access to your rewards!

Are SDX releases still expected this year?

A: Sims Delivery Express drops aren’t going away, but we’re always looking for new and novel ways to deliver gameplay, as well as objects and clothing to add to your Sims’ lives. You can still expect SDX releases throughout the year as well as new Events to engage with The Sims 4 throughout the seasons.

What if I log in and don’t see the Event?

A: The Event starts on 6/24/25 at 9 a.m. PST and ends on 8/5/25. Please make sure you are online and logged into your EA Account. If you still do not see it, you may need to restart The Sims 4 or disable any UI mods you have installed.

Event Quests may also appear minimized for new players and players with Emily Guidance enabled.

  • To help new players focus on learning, Events appear minimized for the early stages of the game.
  • To jump into the Event immediately, click on the Event Goals widget (the little plumbob) in the top left.

The Nature’s Calling Event will be available to players until 8/5/25. While no new Quests will be added after 7/22/25, players can still complete Quests and claim any Event Rewards that they’ve earned but not yet claimed from the Event Screen. Rewards must be claimed by 8/5/25 or be lost.

Will this be available to Everyone?

A: Yes! Nature’s Calling Event will be available to everyone starting June 24th, and you won’t need any Packs to participate.

What are Event Points?

A: Event Points are a limited-time measurement for the Nature’s Calling Event that allows you to claim free rewards. As you earn Event Points, you progress along an experience track and can claim rewards along the way.

How do I earn Event Points?

A: Each Objective in a Quest gives Event Points. Mousing over the Quest will have a tooltip telling you how many points you will earn. Completing the entire Quest nets additional Event Points. Once you have enough, you can claim rewards.

Do I have to spend Event Points?

A: Your Event Points are a cumulative total. When you claim a reward, you still stay at the same Event Point total, so your Event Points aren’t actually “spent.”

What happens if I have leftover Event Points?

A: The Nature’s Calling Event offers a finite number of rewards. If you claim them all and still have Event Points, don’t worry! Your Event Points cannot be used for anything other than the Nature’s Calling Event and will expire when the Event is over.

Can I still complete the Event if I start late?

A: Yes, the Event will run for 6 weeks. If you start late, you will have access to all the previous week’s Quests.

What are Optional Goals?

A: Optional Goals are Quest Goals that require you to own a specific The Sims 4™  expansion pack to complete. As the name suggests, these Quest Goals are optional and not required to complete the Event Quests.

Please also note that the expansion pack must also be installed for the Optional Goal to be completed.

Can I complete the Event without completing the Optional Goals?

A: Yes. All Event Quests are completable without completing the Optional Goals. All non-consumable rewards will be earnable without completing Optional Goals.

What are the rewards for completing Optional Goals?

A: Simmers that complete the Optional Goals will be rewarded with bonus Event Points, which will allow them to claim additional consumable rewards such as Simoleons, Aspiration Points, and potions.

Can I purchase the expansion pack required for an Optional Goal after receiving the Optional Goal?

A: Yes. As long as the Optional Goal is still active and the Weekly Quest it is part of has not yet been completed, you can purchase the expansion pack required for an Optional Goal. Just make sure to complete the Optional Goal prior to completing the Weekly Quest.

Additionally, if you do not own the expansion pack required for an Optional Goal, clicking on the Optional Goal from the Live Mode Quest Panel will show you where to purchase the expansion pack.

Can I go back and complete the Optional Goals after completing the Event?

A: No. Once a Weekly Quest is completed, the Optional Goals in that Weekly Quest will be lost. We recommend that Simmers complete the Optional Goals before completing the Weekly Quest.
