I asked the community for The Sims 4 Adventure Awaits reactions! Let’s see what the community is saying about the newest additions to The Sims 4. And if they’re worth the hype.

Skepticism About The Expansion Pack’s Concept
EA always skillfully attracts interest in buying the expansion. The expansion includes those objects that the community has been asking for for years. But, unfortunately, I did not see the main concept of the expansion. Vacation? Family? There is no particular smell of adventure.

While many simmers are excited about the new content, not everyone is convinced that the newest expansion pack truly delivers on its title. Some players feel that The Sims 4: Adventure Awaits has long-term requested features; it is kind of hard to determine what the central focus of the Expansion Pack will be. The reveal trailer indicates it could be a variety of different ideas, such as a family-focused expansion, a vacation getaway pack, or is it both?

The uncertainty is echoed even more strongly by some long-time Simmers. One frustrated fan shared, “I have been a loyal Sims player for 20 years. I have never been more disappointed. I have no idea what this is supposed to be. I don’t know the theme here. The game has so many bugs, it doesn’t even run correctly. FIX THE GAME PLEASE!” For some, the lack of a clear direction isn’t just confusing; it adds to the ongoing frustrations about the game’s performance and lingering game issues. This reaction highlights how, for part of the community, excitement over new features is overshadowed by the desire for stability and focus in future packs.

A Sense of Nostalgia and a Return to Roots
While Simmers are (rightfully so) unclear about the pack’s identity, others are excited a very different reason: A sense of familiarity from older games. As Michel (Michel69570926 on X/Twitter) shared: “What I’m most happy about is that the team is maybe starting to go back to its roots. Back to what made us love this franchise. I’m seeing Sims 2 inspiration and hoping for more in future content.”

This mix of perspectives highlights the unique reactions to The Sims 4: Adventure awaits. While some, like Michel, see Adventure Awaits as a return to our roots as Simmers, others are embracing its variety as a sign of a great expansion! JayJaySimie (JayJaySimie on Twitter/X) expressed their excitement about the freedom it offers.
I'm happy about all the different activities we can do. Build our own playground, we finally get water slides and by creating our own get aways venues, everyone can get something. I'm already planning a senior get away in Mount Komorebi or Sulani

Creativity Through Custom Getaways

For many Simmers, the chance to customize and design their own getaways feels like a fresh, new realm of creativity in The Sims 4. As Lore Krajsman (liliaeth on X/Twitter) said: “I love that we can create our own style of getaway venues.” This feature could be really open and creative. Maybe it is a feature similar to the date building feature, or even like the Small Business Venue in The Sims 4: Businesses and Hobbies?

Excitement for the Features
Of course, plenty of players are excited for the variety of new features packed into The Sims 4: Adventure Awaits. One fan summed it up with a long list of highlights, “Imaginary friends, rock-paper-scissors, pool trampoline, spinning classes, night kayaking with firefly shows, functional blenders, customized play areas, hide-and-seek, archery… and I could go on and on!! I already love this pack.”

Final Thoughts
The reveal of The Sims 4: Adventure awaits has sparked a wave of mixed emotions across the community. For some, the expansion represents long-awaited features, nostalgic callbacks, and fresh opportunities to build and play in new ways. For others, the lack of a clear theme and ongoing concerns about game stability has dampened the excitement for some.

As we approach the release date of The Sims 4: Adventure awaits on October 2, we would love to hear your thoughts in the meantime. Are you excited to dive into the new features, and/or do you have some concerns voiced by other folks in the community?
I’m still hoping that one day they will deliver us expansion pack with possibility to build hotels. I still don’t get it, why they’re not giving us the most wanted thing.
The first point is that there was a leak announcing the removal of low-end PCs compatible with the game and the revision of the system requirements. I think some players will no longer be able to play if this is confirmed.
Then, the bugs are also a reason to wait and not rush. I finally think I’ve reached the end of a cycle with The Sims 4 and I want to turn the page. There’s still too much missing; I don’t want to spend another $40 on a slide or a diving board that should have been there from the beginning, 11 years ago anyway. The Fairy Pack was so boring that I hardly play anymore since. I only have one thing on my mind: “Paralives,” and the more the days go by, the more I tell myself to not get the expansion and to wait patiently for Paralives, which will be a new adventure, that’s the word, that will be accessible to everyone, even those with low-end PCs. The graphics are very basic anyway, and there’s a new team with an open world, cars that will arrive later, horses. In short, they’ve thought of everything to make this game great.
I completely understand why many people don’t want to give up on The Sims 4, but for my part, I’m totally ready, and this expansion comes too late in my opinion. I’m not as excited as before; I’m even disgusted and jaded. It should have arrived in the game’s early years. I see activities for children, but for 11 years, they’ve been ignored. Many of these activities could have been integrated into other expansions. One world also seems too small compared to the three in other games, and there are still no hotels, casinos, etc., which is a very bad sign. If more had been included, this vacation would have been so important to justify this vacation expansion and its price, , you’ll still have to pay $40 in two or three years to get the hotels . It might be fun for a while, but as always, boredom will set in later. new bugs The game has become too heavy, with too much money invested for very little gameplay variety.
I’ll wait for Paralives; it’s my choice for now.
Slightly disappointing to see how many people are on board for this pack when we all know the state the game is in. I see a lot of people complaining about how the game is broken and how they can’t play and how EA needs to get their crap together instead of releasing new content now, but I’ll bet some of those very same people will buy this pack on release day. Even if people obtain it through an alternative method, that doesn’t solve the core problem. The game is still broken and it doesn’t make sense to throw more money at a broken game, for more DLC which will just cause even more issues. I honestly can’t be excited for this pack because it’s a giant mish-mash of feature that rightfully should’ve been included with previous DLC and because I know adding all these new “systems” into a game that is already unstable is a recipe for disaster. EA is capitalizing on FOMO and nostalgia, and it’s disgusting to me the way they’re shoving shiny new things in front of us to try and distract us from the real issues.
I’m happy with this expansion (what it promises, for now), my game is working fine, so I have no objections to buying it. And I will buy it because I can and want to, and it’s no one’s business!
I loved Imaginary Friend from TS3, so it’s great that it’s here.
Just like many activities for children, there’s something for adults.
It’s true, it’s a bit of a vague mishmash; not everything has to be super-defined and one-track. On the contrary, it will make it more compatible with other expansions and gameplay types.
These latest additions, with their customization options and increasing number of things, really appeal to me.
I had a blast with the Fairy Expansion; fairies, along with vampires, are my favorite supernatural creatures in TS4.
I hope and think it will be a successful expansion, just like Businesses & Hobbies.
And you may disagree with me, you have the right to do so, but you know what?
I DON’T CARE HAHAHA! And the dislikes will even flatter me :*
People easily tend to forget that the comments on the socials are just a tiny portion of the whole community. I have a game which is running good and I have plenty of CC and mods that I update all the time. My save is 5 years old and is running real good. Of course there are things to fix, but it’s not as unplayable as people say.
They aren’t getting a cent from me till we get spiral staircases. Whether it’s a kit, stuff pack, expansion pack whatever!
