The Sims 4: Gardener NPC coming today?!

Electronic Arts website published a new render of The Sims 4, celebrating The Sims’ 16th anniversary!

In the render, you can clearly see a Gardener holding a cowplant. As The Sims 4 Romantic Garden is coming out this Tuesday, and we always get an update on Thursdays when there’s a new pack coming out, does this mean we’ll get Gardener NPCs today? Time will tell!

Celebrate The Sims Sweet 16: Then and Now

Via EA.com

Our Sims players have all been a part of something special.

Ever since the franchise’s first game launched way back in 2000, we’ve been lucky to have so many amazing people enjoy our games.

We sat down with a few people who’ve worked on the franchise for years: Lyndsay Pearson, Senior Producer; Daniel Hiatt, Senior Game Designer; Robi Kauker, Senior Audio Director and John Brown, Senior Animator to learn more about the franchise we all love.

Help us wish The Sims a very sweet sixteen!

Toilet Truth

There have been tons of household objects added to The Sims in franchise history, but the very first was a toilet. Because you absolutely need a toilet.

Stamp of Approval

More than ten years ago, France issued an official postage stamp honoring The Sims.

Mime Crime

In order to ship The Sims in China, the Life of Crime career track was renamed to Life of Mime, and all the content changed to make it mime-themed.

Tiki Tuesday: Part 1

Early in the development of The Sims, the development team moved into an office at Walnut Creek. To get in the spirit while developing House Party, the whole office was decked out as a Tiki bar.

Covered Up

On November 22, 2002, The Sims became the first video game to grace the cover of Newsweek.

Sixpence the Richer

The Sims’ currency is called Simoleons, and that name comes from the word “simons”, a piece of 18thcentury British slang for sixpence.

Tiki Tuesday: Part II

The piñata lasted for years, through the development of The Sims 3. “They said we’d open it when we shipped TS3,”says Pearson. ”Even after we shipped, the piñata lived on, unharmed, for years. Pretty sure it’s still hidden on the floor somewhere.”

Color Coding

For a time during development of The Sims, bladder failures were…a more realistic color. The development team found it to be too much, and they were changed to a translucent blue.

Cat’s Cradle

If you were playing The Sims Hot Date during a specific two week period while the team fixed bugs before launching The Sims Unleashed, there’s a good chance your Sim’s blind date might have been a cat.

Voice Activated

Producers on The Sims have lent their voices to the game in the past. The wombat in The Sims 2 was voiced by a Create-A-Sim producer, and the living gnome in The Sims as voiced by one of the producers on The Sims 1.

Hair Today, and Tomorrow

Way back in The Sims 2, one of the first hairstyles in game was modelled after our own SimGuruGnome. He still has the same style today!

Servo the Robot Butler

The experimental home robot known as Servo was introduced in The Sims: Livin’ Large and was re-introduced for The Sims 2: Open for Business. Servo is known as the very first NPC ever featured in The Sims.

Get the Look

The UI for The Sims 2 Create-A-Sim was redone and shuffled eight times before the team decided on the look they wanted.

Double Jeopardy

The Sims have appeared as an answer on Jeopardy. Twice!

The Origins of Simlish

The fictional game language of The Sims known as Simlish was inspired by real languages like Ukranian, Tagalog and Navajo, as well as the voice actors themselves struggling to pronounce certain words properly.

Sound Off

In The Sims, there were just under 3,000 sound files in the game. By the time the team finished The Sims 4, there were more than 110,000 sound files.

Spring is around the corner, love is in the air, and what better way to set the mood than with the The Sims 4 Romantic Garden Stuff Pack?!

Create a beautiful garden that allows your Sims to surround themselves with beautiful flowers, gorgeous statues, and listen to some comforting classical music. Enjoy the new park fountain, which features new animations, which will bring new life into your home or park venue.

Is your Sim looking for romance? Wanting more wealth? Wanting to come back from the dead? Then enjoy the new Wishing Well that can make all their dreams come true, but as they say: Be careful what you wish for.

Birds chirping, plants budding… it’s the season of love, and your Sims can experience it for themselves with The Sims 4 Romantic Garden Stuff Pack*! The stuff pack releases on February 9 and includes new objects and clothing to create the Victorian garden of your dreams.

TS4_SP6_01

The Sims 4 Romantic Garden Stuff Pack has a mixture of flowery flora and marble furnishings that enable you to build new styles of parks, or to revitalize your home’s yard. Do you prefer a manicured lawn with trimmed rose bushes and flowers entwined around a wooden trellis? Perhaps instead you want to create your own Victorian inspired botanical gardens, replete with spitting lion fountains and stately Doric columns? All of these items and more empower you to create lush landscapes for romantic moments like dates, proposals, and weddings – or simply to enjoy a lovely afternoon outdoors.

TS4_SP6_02

Your Sims can make use of a new Fountain of Gluteus Maximus which serves as far more than a pretty backdrop. Sims can sit along the fountain’s edge and cuddle, even flicking water on each other in a lighthearted show of affection. When feeling especially whimsical they can climb inside to play around, or take it a step further and engage in a spirited bout of splashing with a friend. If feeling particularly mischievous, Sims can go as far as adding soap to the fountain and enjoy watching the water churn into a froth of bubbles.

TS4_SP6_03

What’s more, the stuff pack also includes the Whispering Wishing Well, and woe to the Sim who underestimates the power it wields. A single Simoleon is all it takes to cast a wish, be it for happiness, wealth, a child, youth, love, and more… but the Wishing Well is known to be quite temperamental, and one should carefully gauge not only what they wish for, but when they wish for it. Over fifty different outcomes ensure that your Sim’s life may be altered forever… though it may end in rejoicing, or in personal tragedy.

You’ll discover all of these objects when visiting The Lost Gardens of Healing, a brand new Park Venue included in the stuff pack that creates a picturesque backdrop to any romantic story. Your Sims will want to look their best when visiting, and modern floral fashion and hairstyles will help you give them a proper spring makeover. As they stroll the park’s grounds they’ll be serenaded by the new Baroque radio station, which includes a lovely melody of music inspired by the 1600s to set the mood.

The Sims 4 Romantic Garden Stuff Pack releases on February 9th – come take a stroll through its gardens and see if it’s everything you wished for!

The Sims 4 Mod: No alien, ghost, bear, or knight night at the bar

0

noghost nomorebears nomoreknightnight

Hey guys!

The shine has worn off the theme nights for me and I really don’t like that we were not given the option to turn them off.  I also hate that if we visit the bar during any of these nights, the game spawns tons of new Sims every single time for the bar.

So.  I made myself a mod to release the bar from these silly theme nights (Monday through Thursday) and left Friday, Saturday, Sunday as they were.

Click Here to download this Mod!

Mod Description:  Removes the alien, ghost, bear, knight bar theme nights and replaces them with happy hours.  I changed the spawning Sims into party goers who should be in their party wear (low priority so they may not change).  Your Sims should also not get any invites to those theme nights since I altered those files as well and the nights no longer exist.

Conflicts:   I’ve tested this mod both without any mods/CC installed and with all my mods/CC installed and there wasn’t any problems or LastException file generated.  So, no conflicts.  It may conflict with any mods that changes bars or the theme nights.

Instructions:  Unzip and pop the package into your mods folder.  Enjoy having your Sims get their weekday happy hours back!

Special thanks to @directionermimux for helping me test this mod.
