After typing over 10,000 Words (12,548 Words to be more precise), I finally managed to complete our Career Guide for The Sims 4!

This Guide includes everything you need to know about your Sim’s work time, pay, bonus objects, rooms and other content they unlock, what does it take to earn a promotion and much, much more!

I also added a Tab just for Teen Careers. Although they only have 3 Levels each, Teens can still earn a good amount of money.

Making beautiful screenshots in The Sims 4 is a bit difficult when your Sim’s plumbob and other Sims’ thought and speech bubbles keep popping everywhere.

This can be easily solved without editing the game files. Since the new patch that released on 1st of October, not only that your Thought and Speech Bubbles go away with a certain cheat, but now your Sim’s Plumbob disappears as well!

To make all those things go away above your Sims’ head, press CTRL + Shift + C and enter the ”headlineeffects off” cheat! (headlineeffects on if you want to turn it back on)

Now your Screenshots will be much more beautiful!

• Although Mods and Custom Content are not supported by The Sims Team (as some Mods or CC may react negatively on different computers), they still encourage people to make and use them.
• Please use Mods and Custom Content with caution and always read the feedback first before installing it.
• When The Sims Team releases a new patch for The Sims 4, remove all your CC/Mods before installing the patch.

Websites such as The Sims Resource and Mod The Sims are great providers of Custom Content and Mods for any The Sims Game. Creators from those websites have already started releasing content for The Sims 4.

Although it seems simple, some simmers still don’t know exactly how to install downloaded content they found online.

First of all, you’ll need a Mod or CC file to begin with. If the file you downloaded is in .zip or .rar format, extract it so that you only have a .PACKAGE file.

Now, copy that file to DocumentsElectronic ArtsThe Sims 4Mods.

You can keep track of all your Mods in that folder, or you can see which ones function properly/have applied correctly by opening The Sims 4 > Settings > Other panel. From there you can Enable/Disable Script Mods (use with caution) or you can just View your Mods.

If you find prices on Ebay of The Sims 4 Collector’s Edition too expensive (which they are), GAME still has this limited version of the game in stock.

Thanks to SimKuree and SimFans, we were able to dig deeper into The Sims 4’s game files. Previously, I showed you what The Sims 4 Maps were supposed to look like, but it appears that was wasn’t the only idea for a Map View.

It appears there was also an idea to put TS4 Worlds on one globe. You can see on the pictures below that there’s a grass and dirt terrain, probably showing some regions of Willow Creek and Oasis Springs.

Every sequel faces a challenge of living up to whatever came before it. The Sims 4 struggles with this more than most video games because the series has such a distinctive and successful history.

The shadow that The Sims 4 lives under came up in an unexpectedly candid way yesterday when I was speaking to Rachel Franklin, an executive producer on the game. We were talking about the new stuff that the game’s getting over the next few months. Most of these additions—swimming pools, ghost Sims, new careers—seem to address specific complaints that fans have had about where they find the new game lacking. Hearing Franklin describe the new ways that, say, ghosts will function in The Sims 4, I kept thinking back to the main criticisms I’ve seen bubble up online before the game had even been released. Given the intensity with which many fans have aired their grievances, it’s tempting to see anything that EA now does with The Sims 4 as a defensive, or reactive, gesture.

Towards the end of our conversation, I asked Franklin if the developer’s plans for future Sims 4 updates and expansions had shifted at all in response to the game’s…complicated reception. Her response was: yes and no.

“We always had a plan to have some paid and some free content,” Franklin said. “For these next three months, these will all be free content updates. So that’s always been our approach.”

“That said, we absolutely listen to our players,” she continued. “And we want feedback from our players, and respect what they’re saying. We try to incorporate that as quickly [as possible] and to the best of our abilities.”

SimGuruGraham and SimGuruDaniel announced today on The Sims 4 Announcement Live Broadcast that, beside pools, new careers and other new features for the game, they are also working on a Mac version of The Sims 4.

They didn’t give a specific date on when will The Sims 4 arrive on Mac, but they did say that we should expect more news in the upcoming weeks!
