That’s “funny” how people like complaining. A looot. Who says eco-living isn’t compatible with farm life style. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Sims team merged both ideas in order to make a more interesting and up-to-date pack.

But you forget… this is EA we’re talking about.

Let people complaining they’re spending money on this game

People are complaining because we technically already have this in island living. What’s the use of creating an expansion on something we technically already have.

How about more specifications when it comes to creating? Can we talk about height variations? What about birth marks, freckles, moles? Heterochromia?

Lana

Framing is definitely incompatible with eco-lifestyle because animal husbandry produces huge carbon footprints. And I most definitely WOULD BE VERY SURPRISED if EA put those two things together (comprehensive packs for TS4 don’t seem to be their thing).

Definitely. It doesn’t sound like something they would do haha

Actually it’s the big production and the supply chain of meat production that is bad for the environment. Having your own animals isn’t actually that bad for the environment…

So, what I am reading here is that our SIMS will basically decide how the new world will turn out. So does, that mean that potentially the world will be different depending on how you play? I think this could be good if it goes the way I am thinking.

I see where your mind is going. Like the world starts off like a green beautiful community and can become polluted and disgusting overtime etc

Tina
Tina

Reply to  Julissa

Or it starts out polluted and becomes beautiful? But also, I think it can be taken further than that into, like could it potentially go from a rural community to a city? Like what if the SIMS that moves in, isn’t into green farm land but high rises that prioritize recycling or something, etc.

I enjoyed Island Living & Tiny Living. So, I’m trying to stay positive & optimistic about what sort of game play, items, & cc this will bring to the game. Perhaps it’ll bring in some elements of gardening & backyard animal keeping that we haven’t considered.

I think Eco Lifestyle would be more about going from the city back to rural. At least I hope so, because that could include farms.

It will probably be like the conservation career in IL. Keeping it clean will make the world prettier AND MAYBE unlock some game play? Either way definitely not buying this until it’s 50% off.

Eco Lifestyle? Seriously!? An entire expansion pack? Would have much preferred a country/farm theme or something. I honestly would have preferred almost anything. Who cares about eco-friendly living in a video game? So boring -___-

Was really hoping for the country living pack as really wanted to have my sims build and run a farm. It’s something I miss from the sims 3 and was something I’ve been hoping would be introduced for a while now.

I appreciate the hard work of every person developing The Sims 4 but seeing this title makes me kinda dissapointed to be honest… That’s personally my opinion but the TS4 lacks a lot more than just an environmentally friendly lifestyle. (don’t get me wrong I love the sims games and I’d probably give it a try) That’s just my thoughts on the title :/

smh I care about these issues but.. in a game? I have so many questions.. Are they trying to help me save money? Because they’re certainly doing thier part Like please stop with this enviromental crap and give us a theme we’d actually enjoy for once and stop having these stupid votes. Like I am in no means entitled but what happened to my horses maybe my sims want a pony 🙁

Me too! More spookiness less about this conservation crap! More Mystery would save this sinking ship. Starting with Sulani, conservation…okay. Next small living also conservation oriented, and Now a whole pack? EA needs mystery adventure not this reduce carbon footprint stuff.

I have a feeling this shouldve been a game pack, it doesn’t have much content to be an expansion lol (seeing as we already got off the grid in island living)

You don’t even know what will be in it yet. You’ve just read a blurb about it. I wanted country living too but this might be great, and be able to combine country living/farming with being eco friendly (since good farms are great for our eco system).

This is literally a watered down version of conservation in island living. Why do we need this??

Caleigh

I’m honestly sorta excited for this. I know most of you think that it will be similar to Island Living, but I think different. Maybe it has something to do less then cleaning up trash and *POOF!* your Island’s clean, but kinda more like keeping your air clean, eating healthier, using less gas, etc.

Huuuh, instead of these expansion packs, how about giving us simmers 100% control of our sims (family),being able to drive cars, walk down the street without a load screen, hold hands while walking, kiss, put your child up on your shoulders, being able to buy a summer home on consoles, making the weather change, not having to point where you want your sims to go but being able to just use the controller and have them just walk there, being able to operate your boat on an exotic island, scuba diving, swimming with local marine life,I mean,I can go on and on about how to improve this game and expansion packs are NOT ALL it needs!

Becca

Was the conservation career, off the grid lot trait, and tiny living not enough eco-friendly for the team? Seriously, how much of this do we need in the game? And to think there was a fake about a farming pack. Now THAT would have been new and interesting.

I agree that it’s awesome that the Sims team is doing more to get the community involved and that they’re still releasing new things for the game, but keep in mind that people have the right to express their opinions and be dissatisfied with what is coming out for a game that they’re passionate about. Most of this comment section is full of simmers who aren’t as optimistic as you about the new pack, and that says something in that of itself. Also, eps are usually around $20 (I believe? Correct me if I’m wrong) so it makes sense that there are those who are hesitant to buy stuff that they didn’t necessarily want for a game that they like.

Not worth $60 to just get a recycling bin and solar panels. Will this new world at least have several lots? That’s about the only reason I will pay $60 for this…

Im sure some people will love this but not me. Sims is where I go to live big, have a huge house do things I never would IRL. Its a game. I get that some people enjoy the eco living lifestyle but we already have choices like those with Sulani and Laundry Day. More things to do that really don’t even affect our sims mood. As long as my sim is fed and goes to the bathroom and sleeps, theyre happy. I need more things for them to do that I enjoy doing. Does my sim really care how small their eco footprint is? They barely care if the dog poops in the house or if they live on a bench and pee in a bush.

I agree, but at least I save money this way. I only wanted two of the expansion packs so far, and none of the other stuff and game packs. If they were making a country expansion pack with farm animals I would have paid way too much for it, so with a eco-expansion pack, I will save money because I care about the sim footprint as much as they do… 🙂
