The new Age Ranges have changed drastically for Normal and Long Age Spans!
After the High School Years Update on July 26th, people started to notice that their sims had more days for each age group. After some reports to EA Help, SimGuruNick weighed in and confirmed that the age durations had been changed.

New Age Group Durations
We used the tuning files from the game to find the new durations. Below is a chart that shows how long each age lasts.
| Baby | Toddler | Child | Teen | Young Adult | Adult | Elder | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Short | 1 | 3 | 7 | 7 | 11 | 11 | 5 |
| Normal | 2 | 7 | 13 | 21 | 24 | 33 | 14 |
| Long | 4 | 28 | 52 | 52 | 88 | 88 | 36 |
Previous Age Group Duration
For reference, below is what the previous age durations were in the game. Some age groups are the same and others have a large number of days added in the new age durations.
| Baby | Toddler | Child | Teen | Young Adult | Adult | Elder | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Short | 1.5 | 4 | 7 | 7 | 12 | 12 | Varies by Sim |
| Normal | 3 | 7 | 13 | 13 | 24 | 24 | Varies by Sim |
| Long | 12 | 28 | 52 | 52 | 96 | 96 | Varies by Sim |
Will the new change affect your gameplay?
