Everything New in The Sims 4 November 4th Update!
The last month has been… controversial, to say the least. But things are looking up for Simmers as The Sims 4 November 4th Update has landed, with a bunch of new African-Inspired content, and plenty of bug fixes! Whether you’re a PC, Mac, or console player, here’s everything you need to know about the exciting new features added to the Base Game!

New West African-Inspired Items
A major aspect of The Sims 4 November 4th update is the inclusion of multiple West African-inspired items. From Build/Buy to CAS, and even a new dish, there are plenty of new things added to the game. Made in collaboration with the Pan African Gaming Group (PAGG) and several creators from the African diaspora, this is something fans have been clamouring for for years. The blog post notes that this is not the end, and that more will come! Check out all the items below!
Ballet Dress – Discord 100k Challenge Winner
The Beaverbrooke Ballet Dress was created by community member Sara over on Discord as part of The Sims Discord 100k members competition. It is available for Children and older!
New Greenhouse Haven Walls
The latest patch was supposed to add new Glass Walls from the Greenhouse Haven Kit to match the Glass Roofs, along with the Life & Death Glass Roofs. As reported on EA Forums, only the Greenhouse Haven Kit has been added as opposed to two Glass Walls being promised in the Patch Notes. You can upvote the issue here.
Celebrate West African Design
As previously mentioned, a number of Build/Buy and CAS items inspired by West Africa were included in today’s update. Alongside the new items, there is a tasty new recipe. Check out all there is to see below!

Jollof Rice And Drumsticks
The new recipe, Jollof Rice and Drumsticks, can be made at Level 3 of the Cooking Skill and served as a single plate, family size, or party size.
Jollof Rice is a traditional dish from West Africa, especially familiar in Senegal, Nigeria, and Ghana. It’s often cooked altogether in one pot with long-grain rice, vegetables, spices, and even meat, and is packed with flavor! Don’t hesitate to make this recipe with drumsticks and plantains for parties and celebrations, but it’s perfect for family dinners, too.

Bug Fixes
Over 150 user-submitted bugs have been fixed in The Sims 4 November 4th Update. Check a few of them out below:
- Photos will no longer turn black in inventories (New saves only)
- Mixologists stay at the bar and will not be distracted by conversations.
- Children will now more closely resemble their parents

I would have liked to see a picture of the glass walls that were added for the greenhouse kit and life and death. They are mentioned in the fixes. I won’t be updating for a few days but am looking forward to these build buy items. A preview would be appreciated.
They forgot to add a wall for Life & Death…
There’s also a new base game kitchen clutter item “trio of…” something like that
