A new, brief update about The Sims Franchise direction has been shared by a reliable insider.
A new report has just been published by a reliable insider, just a few days after talking about Project X development direction with AI and other insider knowledge. This insider already predicted The Sims 4 Marketplace and revealed new talks of The Sims Project X – a new Sims Single Player experience in development by Maxis.
The latest short but not-so-sweet report contains insider knowledge about the current success of The Sims 4 Marketplace. According to the insider, it has already exceeded EA’s expectations.

When it comes to The Sims Project X, the insider claims that “EA is aware of Project X leaking“; which seems to have already sparked conversations of changing the direction of development plans for this game. The insider claims that the community feedback on Project X leaks have already shifted discussions about “whether some direction changes are necessary”. Including map and monetisation.
On March 4th the Sims insider had to say this about conversations of direction changes for map and monetisation in Project X:
They’re also exploring the idea of having one world for Project X over seperate releases, and having you start with a smaller chunk that you have to pay for to expand as time goes on. So you might start with two Neighbourhoods and then have to pay to unlock new Neighbourhoods as they come out. Rather than delivering one world at a time with different packs.
According to the insider, it’s still up for debate on what will happen with Project X Worlds integration. “Who knows”
Read more in the report summary below:

Just got word from someone in the team on a couple of things;
- Marketplace has so far exceeded EA’s expectations, we don’t know what they were though.
- EA is aware of Project X leaking, and are overall not too happy with the communities response, they’re holding discussions on whether some direction changes are necessary. Things like how maps and monetisation will work. “Who knows though” was said by someone on the team if that gives you an idea of how often things are said and forgotten or not forgotten etc.
- They’re also working out ‘The Sims’ online presence as more communication seems to be making things worse at the moment, not better. Example;Players playing the For Rent pack and using the Residential Rentals has massively increased over the last 6 months, yet no real increase of anyone reporting save issues to match. Therefore EA have lowered the priority of communication on the issue when there’s no updates as it seems to make the general audience think it’s a larger scale issue than it is.
- Quite a few people at Maxis have concerns over job safety over the next few months. They’re concerned the need for as many developers won’t be necessary due to things like Gen AI and the lack of work in the industry has them worried.
That’s all I have for now.

They must have had some low expectations, because honestly, the pushback on the Marketplace was quite loud and it’s only been two weeks.
Lies
Superou as expectativas?
The expectations must seriously be in hell. It will surely just go up as it is released to console, though.
It really is bizarre, because even in the low sodium simmers reddit, where the rule number 1 is to not complain… people are complaining about it and praising cc creators who choose to stay away from the marketplace.
Maybe the people buying moola are so casual that they are not even in online communities. Idk.
The Sims 4 Marketplace Exceeding EA Expectations:
Genuinely curious what the sales are, because social media is telling another story.
Especially curious how many of these sales are the old Kits and how many are the new Maker Packs. Remember, Kits are only sold through the Marketplace now, that’s gotta be skewing the results somewhat.
Because, social media does not represent the whole story or the community. Keep in mind sims 4 has millions of players. They only need some to buy for it to be a success.
I think people forget this and assume that every single player is chronically online looking at the time when actually the online player base is a very very small fraction of the actual overall player base and the majority of players don’t follow all of the online drama and just enjoy playing games and buying what they want.
Yah, that s thing people confuse social media with real life.A lot of fans are probaly casual players that have some packs, and mostly dont follow or stat out of the drama.
Social Media rarely reflects reality. It’s very few people posting hundreds of time a day.
People really need to stop buying. This is exactly why EA fcks us over, cause plenty of people still will give every dime they have to them. If we want EA/Sims to do better in terms of quality and gameplay, we need to send a message. Buying stuff isn’t helping.
How come? If that’s the case sims 4 is truly cooked
…marketplace has so far exceeded EA’s expectations?
that’s nice. totally delusional, but nice.
I’m a console player and am very excited about the Market Place.
With 90 million players worldwide, it was obvious that not all of them would boycott it. Many buy what they like or are compulsive buyers and don’t care about anything else; they just want to play and don’t care about the rest. As the person who leaked the information said, EA doesn’t care about the few thousand online; out of millions, they’ll always have buyers.
I have seen the first market place reviews popping up. People showing off this over content just like the actual DLC and telling viewers to go buy it. And the reactions of the viewers was along the lines of ‘oh those items look good’ I knew then that there is a part of the sims community that won’t mind the marketplace. I had hoped there were enough simmers saying no but unfortunately it looks like we failed to save this game

I’m a console player and I think the marketplace is a racket. The way they set up pricing, you will always have spare currency that you will constantly be buying more currency packs to try to use it all, or admit you wasted your money and let it sit there. It’s manipulative and disgusting how they keep taking advantage of us.
I’m not even mad at EA anymore. They always have been and always will be greed and scum. I’m more upset that the players have allowed it to get this bad. How many millions of people have just settled on this broken game, accepting it’s glaring problems and continue to buy all the broken and halfbaked stuff that’s carelessly released. It’s a shame that the general player base doesn’t care about quality and potential.
