Electronic Arts has just issued their report for the 4th quarter of 2017’s fiscal year, which lasted from January to April. In this report Andrew Wilson, EA’s CEO and Blake Jorgensen, EA’s CFO have mentioned The Sims 4 and The Sims Franchise in general a couple of times and how players were unexpectedly a lot more active in the last 4 months (which probably has something to do with the Toddlers update). Here’s what they said about The Sims 4 and the upcoming mobile game, The Sims Mobile:
- Our Sims franchise continues to expand one of the broadest and most demographically diverse player bases in our portfolio. The Sims 4, now two and a half years since launch, saw monthly active players increase 33% year-over-year in Q4. With a total of seven downloadable content packs delivered throughout the year, as well as game updates that offered more choice and fan-requested features, The Sims 4 community is thriving.
- Expansion Packs for The Sims 4 also made a strong contribution. Our ability to engage players through live services and events continues to drive strong growth and deliver dependable on-going sales.
- On mobile, our Sims franchise has been a genre leader since launch, and this year we’re going to deliver a brand new, deeply social experience for this wide-reaching global community.
- Our mobile business is expected to grow 5% to 10%, led by the new Sims experience and continued growth from FIFA Mobile, NBA LIVE Mobile and Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes.
- At our core, we are a creative company. We are game makers that love to capture the imagination and make extraordinary entertainment possible for our players. We are also unique in that we have a unified, world-class technology platform and engine that provide the backbone of our network. The Sims Mobile is already out in Brazil and The Sims Style has managed to grab a screenshot of the world map in the game.
By the looks of it, some locations will unlock as you progress through the game.
The Sims Mobile can now be downloaded in the Google Play store, considering you’re currently located in Brazil. The purpose of this soft launch of The Sims Mobile is to test out the game and fix all the bugs before the game goes live worldwide.

Hello Simmers!
Welcome to the second instalment of a series that I’m going to call ‘Creative Construction’ while building in The Sims 4.
Custom content exists and is a huge part of the way some people play the game, which help to add specific objects not available in The Sims 4 to date. That’s great, but what about people who don’t want to mod in new meshes and want to keep their game strictly vanilla? Well, you’ve come to the right place! Each post in this series is a mini-tutorial which will show you how to combine items and create something not available in the game!
Disclaimer: This balcony is pretty, but non-functional.
I love to combine objects together for the Sims to enjoy, however there are times where I make something which is purely aesthetic and not necessarily useful. Thus, my roof balcony was formed.
This is a pretty easy tutorial, especially for those who don’t want a lot of steps. It mostly emerged from me feeling like this build needed something extra up top, so I thought I should share how it’s done with the community!
Make sure to have the bb.moveobjects cheat enabled!
Using the wall tool, draw a three sided room on the top level. Replace full walls with half walls and use a fence top cap. (below)
Colour the sides to match your existing house. Since we cannot add a floor, we can impose a bottom into the area to look like one.
In the pool section, grab the ‘Lap Guides’ and nudge them up in place. Do this by selecting the item and using the ( 9 ) key on your keyboard. This is a technique I learned from The Sim Supply.
Resize using the keys ( [ ) and ( ] ) on your keyboard. Two fit great for my build, slightly overlapped in the middle.
Add some furniture, plants, or whatever you want with the ( 9 ) and ( 0 ) keys to place them in place. Your sim won’t be able to come up here, so don’t add anything crucial!
