The VooDoo Doll is a special interactive object that comes with The Sims 4. Although it cannot be purchased through the Build Mode, there are 3 other ways to find it/unlock it.

The first way to find this Doll is to dig, dig and dig! Some Neighborhoods have certain rocks that have a ”Dig” interaction on them. The chances to find this doll by digging are very small, but it’s worth a shot!

The second way to find this Doll is to fish at 2 secret Neighborhoods and those are Sylvan Glades and Forgotten Grotto. Unlocking those 2 Neighborhoods is a very difficult task, and you may not always find a VooDoo Doll by fishing.

The third, most easiest way to find the VooDoo Doll is to level up your Mischief Skill to Level 3. You can do so by doing mischievous interactions towards other Sims and objects.

After you’ve leveled up, click on the Computer and select Order > Purchase VooDoo Doll. You can purchase more than more 1 Doll if you’d like to bind them to more than 1 Sim!

Your VooDoo Doll(s) will appear in your Sim’s inventory. You’ll first need to bind the Doll to a nearby Sim (must be on the same lot).

Before you start using the VooDoo Doll, please notice that you can bind Teens, Young Adults, Adults & Elders. Babies and Children cannot use it or be binded by it.

Sims with lower Mischief Skill might not succeed in binding on first attempt, but you can always try and be persistent!

You’ll know that your Sim has successfully binded their Sim with a VooDoo Doll if you receive a notification about it + if you get the ”You Do the VooDoo” Moodlet (makes your Sim Confident).

Here’s which interactions you can do to the VooDoo Doll that will affect a binded Sim:

Summon – This interaction allows you to summon a binded Sim – whether they’re in the same Neighborhood you’re in or not!

Frolic (Mischief Skill Level 1) – This interaction will give a binded Sim the Playful Emotion.

Poke (Mischief Skill Level 1) – This interaction will give a binded Sim the Angry Emotion.

Tickle (Mischief Skill Level 3) – This interaction will give a binded Sim the Uncomfortable Emotion.

Soak (Mischief Skill Level 5) – This interaction will give a binded Sim the Dazed Emotion.

Cuddle (Charisma Skill Level 2) – This interaction will give a binded Sim the Flirty Emotion.

Sims who have a low Mischief Skill and/or use the VooDoo Doll way too often might get backfired by the doll and receive negative Moodlets and Emotions.

Backfire: Sim who’s in control of the VooDoo Doll will get this Moodlet and an Uncomfortable Emotion (Poke, Soak and Tickle interactions).

Fizzle: Sim who’s in control of the VooDoo Doll will get this Moodlet and a Sad Emotion (Frolic and Cuddle interactions).

To unbind a Sim from the doll, your Sim will need to be at the 5th Level of Mischief Skill (or higher). Click on your Sim’s inventory, find the VooDoo Doll and select ”unbind”.

The Sims 4’s Gallery added a few new sliders, one of them being a slider for their Newsletter.

The description of the Newsletter slider says: ”Be the first to hear about new gameplay features and exclusive offers!”. Seems to me that they’re slowly getting ready for The Sims 4 Premium Service!

Since The Sims 4’s new update on 9th of September, 2014, you can disable that white outline that appears each time you hover over an object or a Sim.

To do so, open up your Cheat box using Ctrl + Shift + C and enter hovereffects off. (hovereffects on if you want to turn it on again)

Please note that this won’t apply to the white outline when you click on an object/Sim.

If you don’t like turning on this cheat each time you load up your saved game or travel between lots, you can make it apply for good using Command Lines on Origin.

To do so, open your Games Library, right click on The Sims 4 box and select ”Game Properties”. Add -nohovereffects in the Command Line Arguments section. If you already have a previous command written, just add space and add a new one.

You probably noticed that when you try to delete a floor tile using the sledgehammer tool or the remove floor option when you click on a room, it simply removes the entire floor, not just a tile you want to remove.

If you try to add a new floor tile, it simply goes over the existing floor tile without deleting it and giving you Simoleons for it.

To delete a floor tile, click on Floor Patterns and select the Masonry pattern category.

The first floor pattern on that category is the Construction-Quality Concrete. That floor tile is used when adding new rooms and it costs 0 Simoleons!

Simply place that tile on any floor tile you want and you’ll get Simoleons for deleting the old one (must be at least 1 Simoleon more expensive).

The same thing goes for Wallpapers. You can’t use the sledgehammer tool since it will delete a wall, not the wallpaper.

To delete a Wallpaper, go to the Wall Patterns section and select the Paint category. The first pattern on the list is a Drywall, which is also used when building and adding new rooms.

Add it on any wall pattern and you’ll get Simoleons for ”deleting” the old one (must be at least 1 Simoleon more expensive).

In addition to the cheats already published and shared with you, it turns out a few of our Development Cheats slipped in as well! Well, in addition to all the cheats we KNEW we shipped, it turns out we shipped a bunch of cheats that we didn’t necessarily intend to ship. Oh well! More fun for you. For some back story, these cheats were created to do daily “Smoke Tests.” We had to put in these cheats so the game could run on its own (OH NO SKYNET) without human intervention. Essentially, we run these smoke tests in the wee hours of the night while we aren’t at work using our computers.

Quick Disclaimer: Cheats are cheats. Using these cheats takes you beyond the standard tuning and flow of gameplay so you may encounter hiccups or oddities. So please use cheats with caution! You’re going outside the standard flow so you may hit a hiccup or two. But, we’ve used these cheats extensively in development. For all of these you’ll need to open the command console (Ctrl + Shift + C).

Automatically Pay Bills: Do you hate bills? Fret no more.

The Sims 4 released only a few days ago; our Steve is going to play it until his “eyes fall out”. While some passionate fans were giving suggestions to what could be added or changed in the next game, producer Grant Rodiek stepped in to remind them not to get ahead of themselves. “We’re not working on Sims 5. We’re not thinking about Sims 5. If Sims 4 isn’t successful, there won’t be a Sims 5.” said Rodiek.

When later challenged by fans, Rodiek clarified that it’s “not all or nothing”, but that “something has to pay for 5”. Seems like how game development usually works to me, but it’s strange to think of a world without The Sims.

Is The Sims safe for now, or could this be the end of the iconic life simulator as we know it?

The Sims 4 Producer Grant Rodiek said on The Sims Official Forums that expanding Neighborhoods and adding more of them in a single World is a possible thing!

When it comes to Loading Screens, Grant said that the frequency of Loading Screens is unlikely to be changed.

Larryad: Is it possible to at least open up the neighborhoods, so that you don’t have to incur a loading screen every time you enter a building within the neighborhood? I know that this has been stated before, but the worlds do need to be bigger. They’re tiny. Overall a great job on the Sims themselves though. I’d also like to see a Sim be able to flop down on a couch, the way they did in Sims 2. Also body hair for men please.

SimGuruGrant: We can potentially make the individual neighborhoods larger. We can also potentially add more neighborhoods to each world. The loading at this point is a fundamental part of our architecture and is unlikely to change.

Do you find The Sims 4’s Main Camera Mode a bit too hard to control?

For some reason, that Camera Mode does note come with the Camera Pitch ability. Luckily, they added another, The Sims 3 Camera mode, which basically lets you control and move around the same way you could in The Sims 3.

To change the Camera Mode to The Sims 3, click on the Options button and go to Settings. Now, go to the Controls & Camera Tab and click on the ”The Sims 3 Camera” check button. Select ”Apply Changes” you’ve successfully changed the camera mode.

Congrats! Now you can look at the Worlds in a much more beautiful way!
