The Sims 4 has been out for less than a week and Maxis has made it clear they’re entirely focused on the success of The Sims 4, before even thinking about the next game. On The Sims official forums, producer Grant Rodiek quelled suggestions for the next Sims game from fans with some definitive statements.
“We're not working on Sims 5. We're not thinking about Sims 5. If Sims 4 isn't successful, there won't be a Sims 5.”
The Sims 4 released only a few days ago; our Steve is going to play it until his “eyes fall out”. While some passionate fans were giving suggestions to what could be added or changed in the next game, producer Grant Rodiek stepped in to remind them not to get ahead of themselves. “We're not working on Sims 5. We're not thinking about Sims 5. If Sims 4 isn't successful, there won't be a Sims 5.” said Rodiek.
When later challenged by fans, Rodiek clarified that it’s “not all or nothing”, but that “something has to pay for 5”. Seems like how game development usually works to me, but it's strange to think of a world without The Sims.
Is The Sims safe for now, or could this be the end of the iconic life simulator as we know it?
if its really the end maybe the they will add everything into the game they can like they did with makin magic as they were all puting in the ideas they had for the sims 1
Personally, I hope that this is the final one. I know that sounds cruel, but I think that it’s should stop here, until the tech get good enough that they can please everyone. Besides, all of this is irrelevant if EGC gets her hands on the coding for the sims 4. If that happens, everyone loses…

To be honest. I actually enjoy the sims 4. I don’t think they should end the sims. There are other games that are still going on and are not ending at all. So in my opinion I think the sims should not end.

To be honest. I personally like the sims 4. I actually like the cartoon like characters. I had a few troubles in the sims 3 because the game keeps freezing on a fast pc. So I like the sims 4. Its so amazing on how they can multi task. So I beleive it can be a big hit. I like my sim world. It a place to express your creativity. 🙂

Sims 5 is not needed. Take suggestions and add stuff back in! Toddlers need to come back! Cars too! As well as pools! Pets, traveling and college are a need! I would love to see a hobby expansion or update as well! More job options! More clothing and hair options along with color schemes and more venues

My heart stopped when I read this. This thought is unfathomable. I think the Sims 4 will be successful. I think the players that opted out of Sims 4 will be replaced by people who would of never thought of playing the Sims before. Sims 4 is completely different kind of game and appeals to the modern type of player.
Don’t let that happen! Support the devs! Nobody but us can save The Sims!

If you actually listen to your fans and what they don’t mind paying for and put a lot of effort as passed games then sims 4 will be successful. I’ve played sims since it first came out and I still play sims to this day. Sometimes it just seems our voices aren’t being heard enough. There’s so much that can be done with the game you just need a fresh new outlook. JS
