The announcement of The Sims 4 Kits, bite-sized Packs which are best described as “The Sims 4’s way of Store Content” got many simmers wondering if this’ll have any influence and impact over upcoming Pack releases. Specifically if Kits could potentially slow down the release of future Stuff Packs, Game Packs and Expansion Packs.
SimGuruFrost cleared the rumors saying that Kits will have no impact on the release of upcoming Base Game Content and Packs. He further explained that there also won’t be any “supplement Kit Packs” – meaning that we probably won’t see a My First Pet 2.0 scenario happening.
Kits have zero impact on the release of other Packs. Also, Kits will not be made to supplement other Packs. Kits will have standalone themes. https://t.co/40FokHcVnG

He also replied to a few other burning questions regarding Kits and what we can expect from them:
We released all three Kits today to show everyone the variety and versatility but we will likely only release one at a time moving forward. https://t.co/rzyV45y2hs

No announcements on any kind of bundle option. If that changes it’ll be announced on @TheSims 🙂

The Sims Team has also shared some interesting details regarding The Sims 4 Kits in their latest official livestream:
- Kits take less time to create so The Sims Team can explore more themes, playstyles and ideas.
- Currently there are 3 Kits available at the introduction of Kits. Kits will be released one at a time in the future.
- Kits are, in a way, just one of the solutions to content droughts – meaning that possibly in the future we will no longer have months in a year when The Sims 4 doesn’t release paid content.
