Well, that was quick.
It seems that The Sims 4 Kits are returning to official Steam and EA App storefronts, per the latest leaked message.
EA Community Managers were caught once again with a private note to Sims Creators, this time instructing them about the availability of The Sims 4 Marketplace coming to Consoles today. As well as release notes about Kits leaving Xbox and Playstation stores – but rejoining EA App and Steam once again.

This means that The Sims 4 Kits releases will be available for purchase on EA App and Steam without the “Moola-only” exclusivity. Which is now imposed exclusively for Playstation and Xbox players.
I’ve just now checked my EA App and it seems all The Sims 4 Kits are now appearing in the launcher. As noted in the private letter to Sims Creators, this is done immediately for EA App users and is expected to arrive for Steam players on April 20th.

There’s no information as of now if this will carry over to consoles again. We know how often and often the development trajectory of this game changes so nothing’s out of the question!

New Private Update to Sims Creators
Hi Creators,
We’re pleased to share that starting today, the in-game Marketplace will become available on PlayStation and Xbox, giving console players access to Maker content for the very first time!
Alongside this update, we have also made the decision to return Kits to EA App and Steam for PC and Mac players.
Here’s everything you need to know about this update:
- Marketplace will launch for Playstation and Xbox from today. All Kits on console will be purchasable using VC only.
- Kits will no longer be available on the PlayStation or Microsoft Stores, but console users will still be able to purchase Expansion Packs, Game Packs, and Stuff Packs. Moving Kits into the Marketplace ensures that we can continue releasing new content without hitting technical or storage limitations.
- Kits will also be returning to EA App from today, and to Steam on April 20.
- Purchases on Kits using your creator codes will become available again; there are no changes to your 5% commission and 5% player discount, except durine special promotions where noted.

ARTICLE UPDATE: There’s also a public version of The Sims 4 Kits message on the public official Sims Discord.

Good. The first signs of the marketplace crumbling. Keep on boycotting that mess.
I’m a mac player and I’m happy I could get the missing kits I wanted through the app (I do not want to touch the marketplace), sad for the console player though. They always get the shorter end of the stick it seems
I hope EA will start producing official kits again and reduce the number of Creator Packs available as much as possible until the official announcement of the end of The Sims 4. I find it hard to believe that EA will spend a year releasing updates and feeding the Marketplace without saying anything about Project X. It’s a little difficult to accept the lack of new expansions in the future after 12 years of annual releases, because I will never give in to Project X; so this is the end for me after 25 years, but it was inevitable given the state of the game.
I mean I’m not really buying kits right now.
But at least they listened to our very mild feedback
(and by that I mean our tsunami of screams XD)
What a total shitshow
Oh yeah welcome back Sims 4 kits to EA App
I wonder how long they would pretend things are going excellent with moola. I really believe fake currencies should be prohibited as gambling. If they release a new kit and it’s interesting to me I will buy it through the app, but not through the marketplace for moola. I never buy moola no matter what. That’s against what I believe is fair business.
