The Cross-Pack compatibility features extend to Skill Classes in the latest Sims 4 Pack!

The latest Pack called The Sims 4 Businesses & Hobbies takes pride in its two main features within the Pack title. Opening small Business shops and participating in only two new Hobby activities. However, one aspect of this Pack that doesn’t get talked enough is the ability to Teach and attend Skill Classes.

With the new pack, you’ll literally be able to turn your knowledge into profit directly by teaching other Sims Skills that you’ve mastered. This doesn’t just include the new Hobby Skills – but all Skills we’ve gotten so far from The Sims 4 Base Game, Expansions, Game and Stuff Packs. And now, we have a full list of all the Skills you can learn, or teach others!

Skill Classes in The Sims 4 Business & Hobbies (All DLC)

The latest list of new Skill Classes comes from Sims creator @Simmattically, who posted a list of the new Skill classes found in the leaked files of The Sims 4 EP18. That’s a whole different story for coverage later today…

Considering that the list is from The Sims 4 Business & Hobbies Beta files from August 2024, the list might not be entirely complete considering the pack was still in development at the time. Either way, you’ll definitely get a better sense of how well Skill Classes integrate with all the previous DLC releases.

Features of Skill Classes In The New Pack

EA additionally described the new Skill Classes Feature from The Sims 4 Businesses & Hobbies Expansion. Sharing that you’ll be able to teach classes as a part of your business. You’ll be able to give Skill Lectures by just placing down the Whiteboard on your Lot.

CONVERSATION 2

If you’ve mastered a skill, why not break out the Whiteboard and teach a class on it? Classes are events with goals attached which are run as part of Small Businesses. They allow students to improve their skills, and you can choose to charge. Often, you’ll need a skill-related object (i.e. an instrument) to teach a class. Lectures can be given from the Whiteboard without a Small Business. Another way to pass on knowledge is by becoming a Mentor, which you can do for free or as a paid service.

There doesn’t seem to be any tie in to Get to Work with this pack which is odd. GTW added Detective, Doctor, and Scientist active careers and this would be the perfect opportunity to build on them and make them more fun. A Police Officer could teach about Police work or being a Private Detective… A Doctor could teach medicine or wellbeing classes, and the scientists could teach science or more specific areas. Also, there could have been an option to visit the active career lots in some way.

those aren’t skills in the game so how could they be taught in the same way

By adding them (which would also help enhance Get to Work). These sort of things should be relatively easy for the Maxis programmers.

I just checked online and the baking skill as of now is only part of Get to Work. Unless the upcoming update will make it base game, which could happen.

I would have liked a magical class that is about casting spells and brewing potions. But unfortunately those aren’t skills so not included.

Herbalism is a skill, so maybe you could teach that and it’s similar to potion making? I know it’s not the same, but for storytelling purposes, it could be a stand in.

Isn’t Homestyle Cooking regular base game cooking? I don’t think you need home chef hustle, unless you want to use the appliances that come with it. (And baking is gtw)

I don’t understand people who already love this extension, there are no hobbies, saying that tattooing is one is wrong, there are hygiene and safety rules to avoid infections, doing it as an amateur is practically illegal. Where is the dancing, the mechanics, the team football, the tennis, it was also the opportunity to put hotels in family businesses, at this point, we will no longer have them. I read someone say that we were blind not to see that this extension was going to change everything, I dream. Spending 40 dollars just to get tattoos, I’m tired of this community that buys everything, even if it’s empty, you just have to give them one new thing and it’s good, they buy at full price, without worrying about the rest of the extension.

I want to know if you can use the Veterinarian Career as an in Home Business. This career is not like the others Doctor, or Police or any of the others. So why can’t it be an in home business. You don’t go to work so it is similar to the Florist Hobby. I don’t think I will buy the new EP if you can’t do this.
