After releasing mods that introduce new custom challenges, a completely redesigned main menu, and even a tool to hide, resize, and reorganize the world icons, we thought Simmattically couldn't surprise us anymore. We were totally wrong.

The creator's latest mod introduces the Sims 4 Immersive World Map that brings together all the worlds from The Sims 4's DLC in one massive map. Instead of displaying each world as a separate bubble in the traditional World Selection screen, this new map gives the entire Sims 4 universe a much more connected feeling, grouping its worlds into different regions inspired by their geographical and cultural settings.

This new mod is available in Early Access through SimMatically's Patreon, with no official date for a public release.

How To Install The Mod

First of all, you'll need a paid membership to SimMatically's Patreon to access this mod. Once you've joined, simply visit the mod's page and download the files. As with any other mod, place them in your The Sims 4 Mods folder and launch the game.

Make sure you don't have any other world view or world map mods installed at the same time.

Introducing The Immersive World Map

After installing the mod and launching the game for the first time, you'll notice a new introduction while loading your save file.

It says your name!

Once the introduction is over, a completely new map will appear before your eyes. SimMattically created the Sims 4 Immersive World Map to make the game's different worlds feel more connected and realistic, presenting them as parts of one larger world rather than isolated destinations. The map was brought to life thanks to the amazing work of illustrator edkisn.

Main Features

  • Completely Overhauled World Selection: Rebuilt from scratch, featuring custom world map design and a seamless layout for all worlds.
  • Animated Clouds: A new visual effect that makes the in-game maps livelier than ever.
  • Adjustable Tooltip Style: Choose whether hovering shows the world name with its full description, just the name alone, or no tooltip at all.
  • Active Family Pin: Toggle a pin showing where your active family is located so you can always find your way home quickly.
  • Fast Transitions: When enabled, the fade transition from the global map to a specific world is twice as fast, getting you to your destination without unnecessary slowdowns.

Available Options In-Game

In the top-left corner of the map, you'll also find several options to further customize your experience with the mod.

The World Map Options menu gives you even more control over how the map looks and behaves. The Map Tooltip Style setting lets you choose between showing the world name and description, displaying only the world name, or hiding the tooltip completely.

You can also customize the Animated Clouds depending on where you want to see them. They can appear everywhere, only on the global map, only on individual worlds, or be disabled entirely. Other options let you highlight map regions when hovering over them, enable Fast Transitions, and toggle the Active Family Pin on or off.

Finally, you can choose whether to Show Portal Tooltip, which adds information when hovering over the portals connecting the different areas of the map. These settings can be changed at any time, making it easy to adjust the experience depending on how much information or animation you want on your World Selection screen.

How Is the Sims 4 Immersive World Map Divided?

One of the most fascinating aspects of the Sims 4 Immersive World Map is the way SimMattically has organized the game's worlds into different geographical regions. While The Sims 4 has never provided an official map connecting every destination, this mod creates its own interpretation based on the real-world inspirations behind each world.

The Americas

The American region takes up one of the largest portions of the map and brings together worlds inspired by both North and South America. Here you'll find Evergreen Harbor, Moonwood Mill, Granite Falls, Brindleton Bay, San Myshuno, Newcrest, Willow Creek, StrangerVille, Del Sol Valley, Ciudad Enamorada, Selvadorada, and Magnolia Promenade.

The Mediterranean

Ondarion sits apart from the main continental areas as its own Mediterranean-inspired destination. Its position on the map makes it feel like a bridge between several different cultural influences, particularly those associated with countries around the Mediterranean such as Italy, France, and Morocco.

The European Region

Europe is another major section of the map, bringing together a large collection of worlds with European-inspired architecture and environments. This includes Tartosa, Windenburg, Ravenwood, Forgotten Hollow, Nordhaven, Henford-on-Bagley, and Britechester.

The variety within this region is what makes it particularly fun to explore. Henford-on-Bagley looks right at home in an English countryside setting, while Britechester adds a distinctly British university atmosphere. Tartosa brings a warmer Mediterranean influence, whereas Windenburg has a broader European aesthetic. Meanwhile, Nordhaven adds another northern European-inspired destination to the map.

Even the darker worlds fit surprisingly well here. Forgotten Hollow and Ravenwood bring Gothic and Eastern European-inspired elements that make them feel like more mysterious corners of the same continent.

The Asian-Inspired Region

Further across the map, Mt. Komorebi and Tomarang are grouped in an Asian-inspired region. Their proximity is particularly interesting because both worlds draw heavily from Asian architecture, landscapes, and cultural influences, while representing very different environments.

Sulani

Sulani gets its own island region, which feels especially appropriate given the world's original design. The world itself is already made up of several tropical islands, so seeing it represented as an isolated archipelago on the larger map makes it feel like a genuine part of the same planet rather than another disconnected loading screen.

Gibbi Point

Gibbi Point is another destination that stands on its own on the map rather than being directly connected to one of the larger continental regions. Its placement makes it feel like a separate island destination, giving the overall map even more variety.

Mod F.A.Q.

Is it compatible with world map replacements?

Yes, it's fully compatible with custom world map replacements!

When is the public release planned?

There's no set date for the public release just yet, as it depends on community feedback and potential further improvements. I always aim to release my mods to the public within a month or two, though!

BASE GAME COMPATIBLE

This mod requires no packs to function. Unowned worlds will simply be non-interactive on the world map view.

Where is the portal to Batuu?

The portal to Batuu is hidden during normal gameplay and only appears on the map when you go on vacation. The option toggle is meant to turn off the portal altogether, even during vacations.

On a side note, this is probably the most brilliant and realistic world map I’ve seen out of all the possible groupings people have made over the years.

Except for the fact that the Mediterranean region isn’t connected to Europe XD
Apart from that, I agree — it’s a really good job. I can’t wait to see it in my game!

Goodbye clunky world icons.. This is so much better and makes the worlds feel really cohesive and realistic.

I am so excited to get this mod. It looks absolutely amazing!! You have done it again, Simmattically, and as always, you did not disappoint. I can’t wait to play it. Thank you for your creativity and vision for TS4 gameplay. Be well and stay safe.

question, what happens if you don’t have all of the expansion packs>

Think of this as a replacement picker of the worlds, so intstead of the icons in the “select world” view, you choose the world on this map. If you don’t have the packs required for specific world I assume you just won’t be able to access them/they will be greyed out, just like with the regular select world view and its icons. You can see more clearly how it works in a video on his patreon!
