Maxis and EA surprise released a new trailer, highlighting Free Content drops that are coming soon to The Sims 4 Base Game.

What's Featured in The Sims 4 Free Content Teaser
The first segment for the Free Content teaser includes a highlight of new CAS items coming to Adult-shaped Sims. That includes Teens to Elders - including new Hairstyles, Shirts, Sweaters, Outfits and random Build objects for kids.
All Sizes Are Sims Sizes is the next segment of the teaser trailer, which highlights the new Adult Sims outfits and later showcases new Create A Sim items for Children. Including Sequin Top, Pants, Polo Shirt and Shorts.
Every Age Has A Story is another segment of the latest Free Content drop teaser, showcasing the huge amount of items coming for Kids. Including Wall Decals, new Dresses, Glasses, Dining Seat and Table, Hairstyle for Kids and new Blouse Outfit and Shorts.
And finally, the Build Your Base segment, which reveals a wide array of new Build Mode objects. Such as the Kids fishtank and scrapbook clutter, new Beds and Sofas, Curtains, Lights and more.
We were pleasantly surprised with the Free Content teaser trailer but were left wanting to know about the Release Date. Which as of now hasn't yet been specified. We know that a new Sims 4 Quality of Life Update is set for September 2026 release, improving Sim Autonomy, Family Trees & Relationship and more.
The teaser revealed all the items later being compiled together into one, which could hint that this could all be added in one big The Sims 4 Update. Or, it could all be delivered exclusively through The Sims 4 Marketplace to pump up the feature usage. Time will tell!
Extra Info on Free Content Drops
EA Community Manager Mindy has answered some questions...then quickly deleted those answers in the official Sims Discord channel. Discord user Grandpa / / boo marketplace has captured statements from the CM that confirm that these items will be delivered through a Sims 4 Base Game Update. NOT through The Sims 4 Marketplace.
The first rollout begins later this month with the addition of plus size clothing and star hair. "the rest of the items will remain later this year"

If I remember correctly, the update this month was just a hot fix, not a proper update. So is it possible this is another update for this month? Hmmmm
Very excited about this though.
Tired of getting cosmetic updates like cas or build buy items. I want new bug-free functioning gameplay items. I know not everyone has dlcs but sims 4 has too many items already.

I know it’s over, I’m not talking about getting new packs, but I personally would prefer a single new gameplay object over a purely cosmetic item drop. I know it’s not gonna happen but still…

From “insiders” and the current state of silence we know the pack releases have ended except for kits and maker packs along with free drops. There must be an insider post somewhere here in sims community, you can check for more details.
If they put it via Marketplace then they are in real troubles. I refuse to use Marketplace.

This is such an unnecessary post, it’s already written that it’s a free base game content, not that shitty Marketplace maker pack.

Considering that the discord messages were very quickly deleted, and that we know from leaks everything is pretty up in the air at the moment, it’s certainly not off the table that EA would make a last minute decision to force the new content onto the marketplace, even if it was for free. Nothing is confirmed until it’s been posted either on the website or by an official public social media post (and even they, they have gotten things wrong before). So it’s not an unreasonable or unnecessary comment to make.
I’m very excited and happy about this for sims4 users that doesn’t use a lot of packs this is a lot of good stuff
Gee, I wonder why they’re advertising unfinished free content. Numbers must have fallen off a clip after the buyout.
It’s cute for those who like it. In all honesty, sims should’ve stuck to expansion packs. At least if we didn’t like certain items, there were more to like that we would actually use. I don’t like market place because of this. You cant spoil us with, new worlds, and 50 cast and build buy stuff to give scrapes of 1 to 5 or 10 pieces of stuff nobody even ask for. Now if someone ask for this, then that should be a direct request from that simmer to the mp creators. I need more of what I’m used too. Bring back expansion packs! If you can bring a whole market place full of crap I don’t want and will not buy, you have space to give us more expansion packs.

i hope its a basegame update, and not a marketplace stuff again. Idk, maker items just pmo for some reason, to a point that i dont even use the free ones.

Please let this be a proper base game update. Not another marketplace set on a timer.
Anyone else notice that the fish tank is labelled as clutter? Why not make it functional? Large fish tanks are available across multiple DLC. EA has the code in the game. So why would this fish tank be clutter only?

I think it’s just promoting clutter will be released with the drop, I don’t think it’s specific to the fish tank.
I mean at least I hope so cause it just wouldn’t make any sense for it to be just clutter for the same reasons you said.
Idk why they have to drip feed us this content for the rest of the year…
I don’t need anymore junk I just wish they would fix the game they could still give us packs like maybe a pack with Historical clothing to finish the Royalty Pack.

Although I like the marketplace content, they really need to fix the bugginess of the game. Also I don’t understand why they aren’t producing anymore expansion packs, you can’t tell me that a band/concert expansion pack wouldn’t be epic as hell! There are so many ideas they could make expansion packs for!
