The Sims Team Reassures Creators About The Sims 4’s Future in a New Email

The Sims Team acknowledges the EA Buyout for the first time. Plus, an update on the Black Photos Bug Update for The Sims 4…

It’s been a rough couple of weeks for The Sims 4 community and the future outlook of this franchise. EA announced a buyout by questionable private investors, switching the company from public to private company. Many players, including EA employees saw this change as bad for the future of all gaming studios within Electronic Arts. With talks about possible studio downsizing and closure of low-profit video game studios, such as Bioware.

EA Talks Future of The Sims 4 After The Buyout

The Sims Team hasn’t acknowledged the buyout until a new email surfaced last night. EA Creator @SweetAshGamer shared an email talking about the future of The Sims 4 to its creators.

The first section acknowledged the conversations about the EA buyout. Stating that EA’s mission, values and commitment to players will not change and that The Sims will continue to be a safe space for creating authentic self characters. This hopefully means that the freedom of supporting and creating LGBTQ+ characters will remain the same as it’s been before.

The latter part of the email confirms that The Sims 4 will continue its roadmap of new content from the game. Confirming the November 4th, 2025 Game Update and more content on the horizon “as we look to an exciting 2026”.

James Turned posted he asked to be dropped out of the Creator Network. That’s a good sign. I hope more of these creators will do so as its the best sign to EA we’re not kidding about all of this.

Shay

lilsimsie and plumbella made statements about how they’re also leaving the creator network. From their statements, they don’t want to do anything with any future sims content

Sarah

Caren and Connie, and Stepho Sims also removed themselves from the creator network. Not sure if they all talked, or if one person started it and everyone else joined in, but I’m happy they’re all stepping up. I’m hoping EA will see the Sims as too much hassle and just sell it to another company. It seems like our only hope at this point.

Ari

They did not say that they dont want anything to do with future sims content. Read their statements again

Rayvn SáMone

Devin Bumkin has also left the creator network and has turned off his creator code as well. I don’t see how The Sims 4 will survive without all their big promoters. I have sent sooo much money on the game, I will still play, but will not be buying anything else. The creators are why I buy, watching them play influenced me to buy what I have now.

Domon0310

Okay, but it doesn’t matter what they say. They’ll be selling digital rainbows to fund real life discrimination and stripping of LGBTQ+ rights. I don’t care if they make a whole world solely populated by LGBTQ Sims if real people are going to be negatively affected by funneling the money from the sales to far right states and organisations.

Richter

Unfortunately, it’s unreasonable to think that The Sims players will be able to impact the discrimination in these countries. They were, are and will be hateful towards LGBT, women and any other people that are different.

But, as many like to say, let’s vote with our money. I hope that fans will finally realize how shitty this company is, even more so after the buyout, and will stop buying new packs. Or at least a majority.

Tommy

Leave the players alone, you don’t have to tell them what to do, everyone is free to do what they want. It would be good to calm down and wait until 2027. EA knows what they are doing, the Sims are profitable, nothing will change. Those who want to stop the Sims 4 will stop, the others will continue to play and buy DLC, everyone makes their own choices and you must respect them.

wingweaver84

Seems to me like this is the choice the players are making. It’s a shame that it’s taken this long to come to that, but we’ve finally reached that point of no return. My own choice is to go back to the older Sims titles where they are not bound to the EA App. The players want to be able to play the game on their terms. The company being sold to a country that does not respect those terms or their representations is kind of detrimental to that. And quite frankly,Sims 4 has become a piece of flaming hot garbage now anyway,to the point where you can’t even play it. It’s been out for 11 years and has over 100 packs of DLC. Time to let it die.

Johanna

I feel they don’t even understand why people are upset.

Tommy

Thanks to EA for clarifying things and putting an end to this ridiculous controversy, it is time for the hatred of players to stop and for the current climate full of anger, rage, insults, defamation to stop, stop the community, stop it, let’s find calm and the pleasure of playing.

Pope

A lot of people, like me, can’t find calm knowing our game supports a climate of hate and discrimination that affects many people. Being kind to companies that only know us as paying customers is ridiculous, we should be saying something

Tommy

This does not give you the right to insult youtubers like Satchonsims, or players who do not think like you, you advocate freedom but you spread hatred, this is what the community has become, violent, insulting people, defaming youtubers and insulting other players who just want to continue playing and enjoying the game, even by buying the expansions, you disgust me with your behavior, you created this climate, today, everything is broken because you do not know how to wait for 2027. Nothing will ever be the same again. Shame on you.

Bice

Who’s saying this is about outright being hateful to players or YouTubers alike? This is about rights being at risk. Nowhere in Pope’s comment did they advocate any form of hatred. That’s you jumping to conclusions and assuming that on to them, that’s a you issue right there. I’m not trying to start a fight but you need to stop and think what’s really at stake here. Nobody is trying to tear others apart. Saudi Arabia and Kushner do not share the same values as a majority of Sims players, that’s the big picture here. And if that is taken away from players, that is going to be an issue for gaming as a whole. That is the real problem here.

Tommy

I am speaking generally about the whole community. Don’t divert the subject, I saw tons of hateful comments towards youtubers, bullying, hatred, satchonsims also made a video about it, the poor guy, and he is not even affiliated with EA creator, the discussions between players were incredibly violent, so no, I do not accept this, you sow hatred everywhere, insults, violence, the complete opposite of what you defend, youtubers defamed other youtubers with a violence that I had never seen by putting their photo and their name in their videos, what do you call that if not throwing these people to the dogs, that’s the community, everything is just hate, you have no respect for others who want to play quietly, you harass them, what you have created is the complete opposite of freedom, it’s your dictatorship, you are bad people when others just want to play, everyone is free to play, to buy, what they do is none of your business, it is the foundation of freedom, you are not even capable of hearing this, you have destroyed the community with your comments and your hatred. You are a toxic community, and you are the hatred and violence of your words, and defaming by revealing the private lives of youtubers out of revenge as did an enraged black woman youtuber whose name I will not give, it is punishable by law

Pope

The only one in this discussion producing any anger, negativity or insults appears to be you. Funny, considering you claim to not want that yet try to attempt it on me. Things will change when people make the effort to accomplish them. I hope that will come from players and influencers boycotting the buyout, and not accepting the vague acknowledgements EA hands them

Tommy

I’m just telling the truth, I’m not insulting you, I’m describing what I suffered, death threats, intimidation, because I clearly said that I was going to continue playing even after the purchase, and that I will always buy DLC, satchonsims also suffered insults, and here I’m talking about nasty and vulgar words, these are insults, the community has created a climate that I will never forgive, you destroyed the sims 4 with your anger following this buyout, all this has taken too much scale, it’s only a game, these investors are already investors in lots of sports games, that’s why they buy EA, there have never been any problems, and if they close studios, it’s because they are not profitable, it’s as simple as that, we don’t do feelings in the world of business, it’s the same everywhere. When I see a youtuber who screams and plays politics by divulging the private lives of satchonsims, it goes too far, we have to stop all this, the sims 4 are nothing but hatred and anger, and that yes, it disgusts me, so yes I have reasons to be angry, not against EA, but by the behavior of the community, leave the players and youtubers who want to continue alone without threatening or insulting them. I would like to point out that my previous message was deleted by the site, further proof that censorship exists, and that once again it is an insult to the freedom to play without threats.

TheOfficialJW

Finally somebody who actually understands that everybody who was complaining about things were just uninformed. I knew from the start that nothing was changing but yet people still wanted to think worst case scenario. At the end of the day EA has the right to sell to whoever they want to because at the end of the day they’re also a company and their goal is to make money. Nothing is going to change with The he Sims simple as that.

Tommy

Thanks .

Abs

Their email feels like a lot of words to say basically nothing tbh. I’m not in the slightest reassured by that

Richter

Classic corporate wording. Say a lot to say nothing :/

Loi

I hope they fix how grown ups interact with baby/infants cause is so broken i can not even play

aiyachey

YES, this! I always do Family game play and not being able to put my infant in the crib and other things is making me so mad.

Bugfixes

Ahhh, the innocence, how cute and sweet, here we have the example where they eat the words of EA and actually believe them because they just said so in a statement!. Yes, you stop, stop and let me be in my rainbow world, where what corporations say cannot change whenever it’s in their best interest.

But yay, you know what?, be happy I don’t give a damn. Someone wisely said: everyone is free to play, to buy, what they do is none of your business, it is the foundation of freedom.

Sul Sul

Stephanie Hill

The buyout is NOT needed EA was making plenty of money without these shady dealings and now all of these creators are quitting due to this buyout nonsense so please deny the buyout if you want money to continue to pour in

Jamie

Frankly, as much as I disagree with the buyout and the effect it has on the Sims community (myself included), there is more to EA than the sims franchise. No one bought out EA because they wanted to own the Sims. I personally will not be buying any more Sims content until this matter is settled, but no hatred should be given to any creators or silent players if they want to continue. It is my hope that EA will realize the mistake they have made, and at the very least retain separate ownership of the Sims franchise or sell it to a company with better morals. 2027 is not here yet, and until it is, we have no way of knowing what will happen. I admire those who have broken off their affiliation with the company, and also still hope for the Sims to break away from this deal, even if EA as a whole does not. That seems to me the only solution.

Atreya

Having inclusivity in the game is great but I feel like a hypocrite if the money I pay is used for the exact opposite in real life. I think I won’t be buying DLC for a while until we know where this is going.

Every simmer should decide for themselves what they want to do. There is no excuse for harassing other simmers if they decide to act differently.

Joe

First EA is about to face a class action lawsuit for their mishandling of their customers who lost access to the sims 4 game during the last 2 updates. The whole thing boils down to the last 2 updates erased the game liscense and will not let players play the Sims 4. That should be trending more than this story.

Danny Hetue

Even when I play the Sims 4 game on PS5 after November 4, I still experience black and white canvases affecting photos and paintings. How and when will that be resolved?!
