The Sims Team pulls back The Sims 4 Kits on Playstation and Microsoft Stores in preparation for The Marketplace.
The Sims 4 Marketplace was released less than a month ago on March 17th, 2026. The introduction of this in-game hub for Maker Packs and Content also introduced a significant change in purchasing The Sims 4 Kits.
Today, The Sims Team announced suddenly that all The Sims 4 Kits have been removed from the Playstation Store. These official and Creator-made Kits will also be removed from the Microsoft Store on April 16th.
Although EA hasn't clarified the exact date of The Marketplace coming to The Sims 4 Console, we can assume that it should happen in the next few days considering the removal of this huge DLC catalogue.
Console Simmers,
As we prepare Marketplace for all platforms, Kits will be delisted from the PlayStation Store on April 14 & Microsoft Store on April 16. They’ll be available in the Marketplace when it launches soon.
Thanks for your patience while we work with our partners!
Getting The Sims 4 Kits content, as it was first introduced with the PC / Mac Update, is now available exclusively through the Moola currency in the game. This gives you the advantage of downloading and installing Kits right away, with the disadvantage of all of that now being hosted on The Marketplace.
The Sims Team hasn't clarified yet on what will happen to players who want to access and download purchased Kits content in the meantime. We'll keep you posted once we know more information about this no-Kits limbo for Console players.
Are you looking forward to the upcoming release of The Marketplace on The Sims 4 Consoles? Let us know in the comments below and be the first to know when the Patch drops for Xbox and Playstation by tuning to Sims Community!

So that means players can’t access purchased kits in this time? They should all get some discount for not being able to access their purchased content… this is why I strongly dislike online purchases for gales. They can pull of acts like this and the customer just has to take it whereas in times with games on physical format wouldn’t have this issue.
I know it’s just 2 days but it’s just a big hard no.

They don’t lose access to the kits they already have purchased. They just can’t purchase any new kits at the moment.

I’m not on console, but shortly after the Marketplace arrived in my game I lost access to kits I had received as gifts and redeemed codes for, and started using in my game, and I was told I had to repurchase them (with Moola, of course) if I wanted access to the content

This sounds like a technical issue that you should speak to EA support about. I have almost all of the kits on PC and I still have them after the switch to the marketplace and do not have to rebuy them.

Not from what I got. I believe any content you own won’t be unavailable or messed with, just anything you don’t own.
But we all know EA isn’t the best at communication so who knows…

The way real cc was practically unusable at the launch of the marketplace also felt like a tactic to stear people to the marketplace.

I cant wait that they make it available. I love purchasing new content all the time. My only worry is when I have all of the the stuff available and upload my builds to the gallery, they will go basically empty for people who dont have the same kits and that’s kind of annoying, I think they haven’t think about that….that removes my will to create anything nice if people won’t be able to see it 🙁
Yea, I’ve been playing less & less because they break it more & more. I’m just going to uninstall The Sims, EA, & Origin from my computer. It’ll free up a lot of space to be able to delete all that CC that I have & don’t use anymore. I’ve invested way to much in this game to now have to be nickled & dimed with the marketplace the way they used to do The Sims 3.

It was Playstation that made it so that consoles couldn’t get it right away according to the insider leaks.

They really want to push people into using their awful Marketplace that no one likes or asked for.

I don’t like that we weren’t notified until the day of. I was trying to purchase as many kits as I could via the PlayStation store before had because I didn’t want to deal with Moola… I don’t want in game currency!

Boycott Sims 4! Boycott! The player base must join together to try and save this game.

Well that’s just not true is it? I have access to all my kits and they are still on PlayStation store. Marketplace is up and I still bought the Masquerade kits from PS Store. It was likely very temporary and was put back up quickly
