EA Community Managers tell their Creators within Creator Network to “Take Space if Things Feel Overwhelming” – among other things.
Might I suggest that you take space if things feel overwhelming? At least that’s EA’s suggestion in response to the latest EA Buyout livestream hosted by lilsimsie – who left their Creator Network in October and is now doing a livestream informing people about the buyout deal.

In a leaked message posted by @lunar_briney on X, we have a new message from Electronic Arts Community Managers sent internally to Sims members of the EA Creator Network.
The message acknowledges the current planned livestream happening today: “Moments like this can bring attention and opinions across social channels, and we want to make sure you feel supported.” The message gives creators internally the right to express honest opinions, but also “step back from the conversation entirely”.
They also hinted and stated that “as we continue building the future of The Sims” so that’s something for folks who are possibly looking forward to The Sims Project X. Our words though, not theirs!

The Sims Team

This is probably the first time that EA and The Sims division have more directly acknowledged claims and thoughts about players on the EA buyout.

The “agreement to be acquired” comment has me cackling.
Just say buyout EA that’s what you mean.
It’s actually a great message for creators. 1 point for the sims team. Still -10000000 points for EA
The repeating of the “steps to do” feels very ‘please shut up’. They’re really really want to be able to control the narrative but seem to have forgotten that people talk regardless. It really would behoove them to just be absolutely as openly honest and transparent about this as possible
I’m not sure it actually was repeated? It looks to me like the second screenshot was just taken after the person scrolled down…
I think the creators in the marketplace are there to continue with the game updates while the EA employees work on other projects. There’s no need for a marketplace because Sims 4 is already overstuffed with too much of the same content.
From my experience with games that adopt a similar idea like the market place & the use of players for content, these creators could be used to replace some EA employees (in the future) because they are much cheaper & the company is trying to save money by recycling objects. Sims 2 & 3 are examples of players providing content for a game but those are contributions from the gaming community, the most disappointing part of the marketplace is this was EA’s idea.
Games & gaming companies will always be bought & sold whether people like it or not. Companies are sold if they are having financial difficulties & if there is no buyer, the company would be closed down. Most of us have experienced game cancellations & closures.
Yeah this very much comes off as a “do whatever we tell you to do OR ELSE”.
so they want everyone else to shut up. basically. this is damage control and not even a good attempt at it.
I thought lilsimsie said she was done with the Sims and wasn’t going to be a creator anymore? What happened with that?
She left the program, stopped buying new stuff, but still plays it
And joined with a bunch of people who are still sims partners for this lol
Soooo…EA now BLANTANTLY screwing people over and not trying to hide it. Why are they still in business?
“Agreement to be acquired.”
Sims Team, this is literally a buyout. In fact, the literal term is “leveraged buyout.” Also, there was really no point in doing this stream. The time for that stream, and this energy, was 6 months ago, before shareholders approved the buyout. It’s too late now. Unless the PIF says “nevermind, we don’t want EA anymore,” it’s over. Some of those same creators were also the “I’m waiting to see how this plays out” and are, unsurprisingly, still a part of the program.
did you actually watch the stream? because if you did, you would know that the deal isn’t done and there are many things left in the toolbox of politicians, streamers and players. signing the petition is one thing, but there are many other things being done. do not give up your voice before you used it.
I don’t need to watch a stream, as I know how the process works. I have a degree in Finance, I’m working towards my Master’s currently. I know the process of a leveraged buyout and what it takes for it to succeed. They are 99% there. Regulatory approval is the last step, and the FTC and Treasury are both headed by Trump loyalists, with the latter someone who takes joy in terrorizing federal employees. They don’t care what a Democrat and a Sims streamer thinks. Their job is to please their dear leader, and if Trump wants his buddy who controls the PIF, and his son-in-law to own EA, they will.
Which is why I said if the PIF wants to dip, that’s probably the only scenario that will stop this. As for giving up my voice, I signed public comments to the FTC, I have harassed EA, I have contacted my representatives, and have had this energy for six months. I did all I could. Tuning into a stream that is there to keep morale up is not my priority. In reality, this deal is done.
Would it be nice if it wasn’t? If it fell through? If EA stayed as it is? Yes. But that’s not reality.
