The Sims twitter page shared a new clip from GeekCon, one of the new festivals in City Living.
Sim Guru Grant and Sim Guru Romeo took us through the new Festivals feature in City Living along with a few other surprises! Here’s a quick overview of the features they covered:
Bulletin Board: Information about the festivals and leave notes to neighbours
– Includes name, time, location and activities with a button to teleport you to the festival. Also, has a picture of a section of the festival.
Colourfull floors: A wooden floor, mainly for basketball courts, with glossy bright colours. The swatches are green, black, beige, purple, white, orange, dark blue, red, brown, grey, light blue and cream.
Performance Base: Level 4 or higher, can busk for money.
No new woo-hoo spot
Sparklers: Can give to kids then play with sparklers together
Fireworks: Set off inside and it will start a fire. When set next to each other outside they will chain fire, so you only need to set one off for them all to go.
Snowglobes: Each has its own effect, so the freezer bunny has floating hearts inside and the dinosaur one has meteor showers inside. You can collect these around the world.
2 New tv channels: Political and cultural
Grungy Objects: Objects with dirt and grunge textured on
Video Game Machine: We have 4 games:
– Genies Curse (A throwback to World Adventures)
– Density Effect (A shoutout to Mass Effect)
– MySims Racing
– Party Frenzy
Hidden Traits: When you participate in certain things you get a hidden trait, for example at the spice festival you get Spice Hound when you participate in the spicy competition and complete it. The Spice Hound trait (From Mastering Spicy Food) Spice Hounds never find any food too Spicy, and feel Happy for hours after eating a Spicy Meal.
Food Fail: If you fail to eat spicy food your bladder will go to red and make your sim need the bathroom right away.
New Trait: City Native
1) Tourist:
-Introduce Self to Someone New in 3 Different City neighbourhoods
– Give an apartment key to a friend
– Order 3 times from Food Stalls
2) Inhabitant:
– Achieve Level 3 in the Singing Skill
-Light Fireworks at the Humour and Hijinks Festival
-Use a Bubble Blower
3) City Expert
– Donate to a Protestor
-Kiss someone at the Romance Festival
– Complete a Mural at the Arts Center
4) City Native
– Master the Singing Skill
– Win a Contest at GeekCon
– Live in an Apartment worth $100,000
New Death: Low-Quality Puffer Fish
– This also brings a new ghost type
– Can also be served in Dine Out, so you can make a restaurant of death if you wanted
Haggling: If you want a lower price at stalls, charisma skill will help
Recipies: Once a sim has eaten the full plate they themselves can make the food at home
Chop Stick Skills: Works like the diving, it’s not a skill in the panel it just improves over time
Trash Panda: A creepy person who walks around in a racoon suit rummaging through bins

Festivals are one of our favorite new attractions in The Sims 4 City Living* Expansion Pack ( coming this November), because they send our diverse city of Sims to the streets to mix, mingle, learn new things, and make new friends!
The Flea Market is the perfect place to find a deal, especially when living in the expensive San Myshuno on a budget! The Flea Market may never have the same things for sale twice, so come early and come often to take advantage of these deals!
You can always toss in a good haggle to try and scratch a few more Simoleons off the price to really leave the Flea Market a winner. Or, trade and swap collectibles, such as the new snow globes with other collectible enthusiasts to find the one missing from your collection. Feeling crafty? Setup your own craft stall to sell paintings, fresh produced you’ve harvested, or whatever you wish to sell.
Not sure when it’s happening? Look for the signs located in the neighborhoods or the bulletin board in your apartment’s common area. See you at the Flea Market!
SimGuruDrake has confirmed that we can expect a new The Sims 4 City Living Livestream this week. This time around, the gurus will be playing with festivals!
Although there is no statement when exactly, we can assume that the livestream will start on Friday at 1PM PDT, when 2 previous livestreams also held place. We’ll update this post once we know all the details for sure!
You may have noticed in yesterday’s new City Living Blog & Trailer about Festivals that there’s a drink fountain from The Sims 4 Luxury Party Stuff Pack included in two of the festivals: Romance Festival and Humor & Hijinks Festival.
Just a few days ago, SimGuruGraham explained on Twitter that we won’t need to have The Sims 4 Luxury Party Stuff Pack installed in order to have this drink fountain in the game. However, he did confirm that we won’t be able to place them in build mode or overall use them outside festivals:
@AhmedKallala Those fountains only show up at festivals. You’ll continue to need Luxury Party to use one in your own builds.
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) October 4, 2016
@AhmedKallala Yes, but only when visiting the city’s festivals.
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) October 4, 2016
Still, I’m pretty sure that modders will be able to unlock this object just a few days after the launch of The Sims 4 City Living!
He also commented on the possibility of updating the Luxury Party drinking fountains with the City Living preset colors:
@TheTruthH8rts No promises on that happening, but I’m aware. It’s something I’d like to patch for Luxury Party owners at a later date.

There’s much more to The Sims FreePlay’s new October 2016 Update than you might think! Beside the return of the Halloween Event, there are a few new features, improvements and quests that yet have to happen…
Although not unlocked yet, the Movie Studio profession lot will soon offer a chance to win the Director’s Boom Camera! Although I’m not sure how will this event function, one thing is certain – you’ll need to have both Performers and Directors in your Neighborhood with all the Workstations unlocked and upgraded!
A new opportunity to earn free simoleons, SimCash, Social Points and objects is here! If a Sim shown down below appears on any of your Home lots, that means you’ve been given an opportunity to get a certain item for free in exchange for watching a video advertisement!
To start watching an advertisement, press the play button or the watch button. As soon as you’re done watching an ad your prize will be revealed. Sometimes its an object that you can find in your inventory and sometimes its Simoleons, SimCash or Social Points!
You can watch an advertisement again and be given the same opportunity if there’s a button that says More. For example, I got to play 2 advertisements and the offer was over. Just a few minutes after, the Watch Ads for Prizes opportunity was shown again!
There’s a new selection of free clothing in Create A Sim! Simply open up your wardrobe and check out what’s new!
The Quests Interface has got a minor face lift!
Town Icons have also suffered a minor change!
The Sims FreePlay has just released a new update for the game! Although this Halloween Update is the same as the one last year, the FreePlay team said the following on their Facebook, assuring that we can still expect new content:
