Several older Sims 4 blog posts tied to LGBTQ+ initiatives vanished from EA’s website this week, sparking concern across the community in the past few days. Players noticed that pages covering the 2019 It Gets Better collaboration, Pride‑related features, and gender‑inclusion updates were now displaying 404 errors. With the publisher now owned by a group of investors that includes Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, the disappearance immediately caused concern about whether inclusive content was being scrubbed from EA's online content. The publisher has now said that this isn't the case.

Players Noticed Changes to EA Sites
Players first spotted the missing EA blog posts on August 20, when several long‑standing LGBTQ+ pages began returning 404 errors. The It Gets Better collaboration page was the first link people flagged, but it quickly became clear that other inclusivity‑focused posts had also gone offline. A post by alalasims on X reported these claims as fact.

A reply to the original post showed that this was incorrect. Fans checked other parts of the site and found that a range of posts from 2019 to 2021 were also returning errors. These included standard Sims 4 news updates and patch‑related articles with no connection to LGBT topics.
THIS ISNT TRUE

2019-2021 articles (like 95% of them) are removed from EA's website. Example, this Eco Lifestyle article does NOT WORK now, but it did in 2023. In 2025, this article stopped working.
This is because EA migrated sites, and ALSO happened in 2025, which is b4 deal pic.twitter.com/pUfLtPCnQY
The concern spread quickly because those posts have been part of The Sims 4’s public history for a long time. Diversity and inclusion have been some of the franchise's biggest strengths, and the concern about the removal of such posts is valid. Much of the community's concern when the EA buyout was announced was the involvement of the Saudi Arabian PIF, the sovereign wealth fund of a country known for its brutality towards queer individuals.
EA's Statement on the Removal of Posts
In an article by The Gamer, writer Rhiannon Bevan reached out to EA for comment on the matter. EA responded once the discussion had spread, saying the missing pages were caused by a backend migration. According to the company, the website is being moved to a new provider, and older articles may drop offline while the transfer is underway. The It Gets Better page has already returned, and EA says the remaining posts should come back once the process is finished.
We reached out to EA and were told that the post disappeared due to an IT issue, as EA is actively migrating the backend of its website from one provider to another. The spokesperson says that this means older articles will disappear and reappear, rather than LGBTQ+ content being targeted for deletion.

EA's statement has confirmed that these posts were not intended for deletion, and inaccessible pages will soon be available once migration is complete.
The same issues can be seen with posts on the site, such as The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle blog post and the pre-release blog post on Henford-on-Bagley. Non‑Sims posts have been affected as well. A separate example is the EA announcement about being ranked a top employer for LGBTQ+ people, which is also displaying an error. This shows that the issue is wider than the initial reports suggested.
